Washington privately told Tehran that the overnight bombing of Iran’s three main nuclear sites would be a single, limited operation and that the White House was not seeking regime change, according to matching accounts by Reuters and CBS News.

How was the warning delivered?
CBS reported that US officials “reached out to Iran diplomatically on Saturday” to say the strikes were all the United States planned and that no wider war was intended. Reuters quoted US sources repeating the same message and noting it was passed hours before the first bombs fell.

Iranian officials subsequently evacuated “most” enriched-uranium stocks from Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan before impact, an Iranian source told the regional site Amwaj media. The Indian NDTV also reported on Sunday that the US updated the Iranian regime before the attack, about 24 hours beforehand. According to the report, the information was passed on to Iran through a third Middle Eastern country, without mentioning it.

Missiles struck parts of Israel early Sunday, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, just hours after the US targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities in a coordinated airstrike.

About 25 missiles were fired at Israel, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to damage in residential areas across Tel Aviv, the central region and the coast.

Israel’s fire service reported “direct damage” to buildings in the Tel Aviv area. In Haifa, one missile reportedly landed without triggering air raid sirens.

Several cargo planes carrying armaments and military equipment for the IDF landed in Israel today, the Defense Ministry says.

The ministry says the delivery is “part of efforts to strengthen operational continuity and support all the IDF’s needs, both for achieving the goals of the war and for improving readiness and stockpiles.”

Since the start of Israel’s operation against Iran, 14 cargo planes with equipment for the IDF have landed in Israel, the ministry says, joining 800 others that have arrived since the beginning of the war.

The vast majority of the planes have come from the US.

Iran has launched a significant missile barrage on major cities across Israel, according to reports.

Nationwide alerts have been issued, with residents advised to seek shelter immediately, according to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).

“At this time, the Air Force is working to intercept and attack wherever necessary to eliminate the threat,” the IDF said.

Photographs from Tel Aviv show thick smoke rising from affected areas, while missile strikes have also been reported in the southern Negev region and the northern city of Haifa.

At least two people are reported to have been injured in the attacks.

Police have confirmed the impact of some missiles, but as of yet, the sites have not been officially confirmed.

Emergency services remain on high alert.

For second day in row, Iran missile hits Beersheba, damaging buildings, wounding 7

An Iranian ballistic missile struck Beersheba in southern Israel on Friday morning, lightly wounding seven people and causing substantial damage to homes, as Israel and Iran continued their exchange of fire.

The southern city’s Soroka Hospital, which was hit by an Iranian strike a day earlier, said it had received seven casualties, all lightly injured.

The missile struck a road near several apartment blocks, creating a large crater and setting several cars on fire. Firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

The Health Ministry reports that 271 people arrived at hospitals after the Iranian ballistic missile attack this morning — four in serious condition, 16 in moderate condition, 220 in good condition, 24 suffering from acute anxiety, and seven undergoing medical evaluation whose condition has not yet been determined.

Of those at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, which was directly struck by a missile, 71 people were lightly injured and one person suffered from anxiety.

Most of the lightly injured were hurt on their way to a protected area or were suffering from anxiety.


Since the beginning of Operation Rising Lion, 2,345 injured people have arrived at hospitals: 21 in serious condition, 87 in moderate condition, 2,105 in good condition, and 99 suffering from anxiety, the ministry says.

So far, most of the injured have been released. Currently, 106 people are being treated in hospitals, and another 149 are being treated in the emergency room.

The ministry asks people living near elderly citizens to assist them as much as possible in choosing the closest and safest protected space, and practicing getting there and arriving as early as possible, even before the alarm sounds, to prevent accidents caused by falls on the way.

The ministry has also instructed health maintenance organizations and resilience centers to strengthen mental health support services by allowing victims of anxiety to receive telephone support without having to go to hospitals.
