omoharry: Nothing will happen..and beside who are the people desperate for the Igbo presidency ?If not their selfish and wicked leaders that do not care about Thier own people . The Igbo want BIAFRA or Restructuring..Soo their stupid & wicked politicians can go on Thier knees if they wish but Thier position as president will not change anything as long as Nigeria continue to operate under this faulty foundation. Neither will a Yoruba presidency change anything either . The only way their emergence as president will be a good thing is if they have the balls to restructure this country without any fear of offending the North. I agree with you |

cherishmichael: Even if they denies us our right, that's their business they can not deny us it forever, we can never kneel to people we are greater than, not because of leadership, because if it was to take it by force, just in-between the country no help from the US as they did during the Biafran war, we'll take it clean. I know some of you might be shocked seeing me mention the US, yes! Read your history very well and know why the igbos lost the Biafran war, that was because we were not only facing the northerners and the westerners, but also, one of the world powers. If you know you know!! i think Igbo lost the civil war due to miscalculation on the part of ojukwu, both the Nigerian government and Biafra had foreign support. Biafra was formally recognized by Gabon, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and Zambia. Other nations, which did not give official recognition but provided support and assistance to Biafra, included France, Spain, Portugal, israel, Norway, Rhodesia, South Africa, and Vatican City. Biafra received aid from non-state actors, including Joint Church Aid, Holy Ghost Fathers of Ireland, and under their direction Caritas International, and U.S. Catholic Relief Services. British and Russia supported Nigerian government. If American government will support Nigeria, it is because of its national interest in Africa because taking side with rebels will certainly hurt them, that's why US didn't support Catalonia independence |

Queeeeeen: Isn't the useless presidency more of a useless dream? I've searched and searched and I've not seen how that presidency will benefit Igbos,so why beg for it? Does it make sense? for the sake of equity and fairness |

We shouldn't be talking about something like this in a sane and well structured society, but Nigeria is the opposite of that, hence the need to ask this germane question.
Though it sounds risible but we're faced with ugly reality right now, the 2023 elections will be characterized by cynicism and skepticism, there are already suspicions here and there, the political desperados will do anything humanly possible to undermine our democracy and the will/wishes of well meaning Nigerians, these knaves are also heating up the polity! we must unite together and stop them.
Their parochial interest and inordinate ambitions supersede national interest, all they are after is self aggrandisement and preservation.
Winning a presidential election in Nigeria is a tall order, it requires alliances and serious political maneuvering.
My concern now is that if South East is denied the opportunity to govern Africa's largest democracy in 2023, what will happen? |
