The price of petrol in Nigeria compared to neighbouring countries are minimal so much that you ant make an gains from smuggling except of course if you are smuggling in hundred of thousands of litters, not with few tankers.

If you are a tanker smuggler, the risk involved is far more than the gains.

If he tells us that smuggling will resurface if he decides to bring down the price of petrol far below the price in neighbouring countries which will lead to artificial scarcity, we will understand.

The Chinese who rarely embrace Nigerians in their countr,y should not be allowed to wrestle that space away from the firm grip of ordinary struggling Nigerians..

Let me share my recent experience, 4 month ago when I wanted to fence my site I discovered that the space between me and my neighbour has hasn't developed his house was very little. Instead of encroaching his land in his absent, I called him to notify him if he can sell 1/4 feet (less than half feet) for me.
He refused and claimed he already had plans for all his space. Mind you, I his refusal was not the issue, this man hired thugs to go and fight the people working on the site and my land was encroached.

When I came back from work and saw what was done, I was very pissed. I have since tried to forgive and forget but anytime I see that fence, it makes me feel bad.

The only way government can do that is to sign JV with international oil companies who would do most of the heavy lifiting, and allow crude to be sold at market prices as well, otherwise no can do

The downside though is that it may bring down crude oil prices, and ironically government revenue. Also, we are under OPEC, and by extenson OPEC quotas, usually in place to keep oil prices high enough for its members, but not a perfect solution (which is why some countries over the years have left OPEC.).

Have Nigeria been able to meet opec quotas?

Indeed, this government is a disgrace. Still wondering why we still borrow money despite the huge funds generated from subsidy removal.

The projected crude price per barrel in the Nigerian budget was capped around 60$ for the fiscal year.

But due to the Iran Vs USA crisis that had lingered for too long, the price of crude had exceeded the projected amount for most part of the year- leaving us with lots of gains.

Where is all these money and why are we still taking loans?

I wish this man and his goons can implement the local government autonomy so money can be channelled to local government directly. This will increase grassroot development and greatly reduce rural- urban migration.

Many people have no business coming to the capital cities if our small towns and villages can have basic infrastructures like good roads, health care, school, stable power and security.
