Shey na budget padding dem dey take build school?

These people just dey take us catch cruise grin

Budget padding that is supposed to be a criminal and jail-able offence has now become a norm and the legislatives are trying so hard to justify it .

Law makers and reps have no business building roads, class rooms, boreholes etc
Their main duties is to make laws and pass laws and to make sure that the laws conform with the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
The governors and the local government chairmen are the one responsible for projects.

The reps members are supposed to be closer to their people/constituent, know their plights and convey their plights to the federal for wider view and solutions

nairalanda1:
Not exactly.

The problem started at independence. We had two choices...either do the hard work of becoming an industrial power, or sell raw materials and run subsidy economy.

We chose subsidy economy based on revenue from raw materials.

The thing raised a lot of people, yes....but it also led to an unsustainable lifestyle. For some time when oil prices rose very high, we hid the cracks, but at the end, we went into debt to keep on living that unsustainable lifestlyle

The crash of the 1980's...started in 1982 with a fall in oil prices. BY 1984, things were bad. By 1986, we had to accept SAP otherwise things would have gooten worse. Of course, SAP is also just as bad.

We should have gone industrial right from the word go. Hardship for some generations yes, but by now, we would have been making and epxorting phones, cars, computers, furniture, laptops, etc etc...and been very rich.
Everything boils down to leadership. He colonial masters who handed us independence did it prematurely.

They didn't properly prepare us to get used to industrial based economy. Our then ineffective leaders chose the easiest route - consumption economy.

This unhealthy economic lifestyle was passed down from one president to another until we became poor and had to rely on borrowing.

This is how you know someone was not born back then

Times were hard back then. People grumbled about high prices. SAP was sapping us. Our take home salary could not take us home.

Yes, tinubu is bad. But let us not pretend 1980's was eldorado. Especially from 1982.
Inflation started when the minimum wage was adjusted from 125 naira to 250 naira.
The structural adjustment programme didn't help matters.
Poverty was rampant but crime rate was low compared to what we have these days.
I was 5 yrs old in 1989 but told me everything.
Food › Re: See Market Survey For Food Prices In Nigeria In January 1989 by Godfullsam(m): 12:46pm On Jul 09, 2025
I am sure that during this time, the people will be complaining that the price of items are too high.

The national minimum wage in 1989 was 125 naira - not enough to buy a bag of rice as at then... It was after series of negotiation between NLC and the babangida led government before the minimum wage was review to 250 naira. This also spiked the inflation rate.

I am not in any way trying to justify this useless government sha.

But just to point to you guys that Nigerians don enter one chance tey tey...

Anybody that loves this country must never vote for APC, PDP or ADC in 2027.

Those who has been in the system before cannot use the system to improve the lives of the people.

Let's be honest with ourselves.

Wait o grin

Are you trying to tell me that these coalition members don't have a clear cut plan of what they want to do when they get to office?
You mean they want to grab power first before planning what to do to move the nation forward?
Take it or leave it, ADC is APC volume 2. they can't offer anything special.

i just hope Peter obi will not treat ADC the same way he treated LP. Hope he wont abandon the party and destabilize everything if he didnt get the aso rock ticket from the party.

because, from the look of things LP is now worse than the way they use to be before Peter Obi joined them. Almost all the governors and reps that were elected via LP platform have defected.
Politics › Re: ADC: Peter Obi Has Conceded Presidential Ambition To Atiku Abubakar – Bwala by Godfullsam(m): 8:45am On Jul 08, 2025
A coalition packaged by el rufai, atiku, obi, amaechi, aregbesola etc have nothing good to offer nigeria .

if you check those names individually and collectively with a prism that is void of sentiment, you will know that they are even worse than the rogues in APC that are currently showing nigerians SHEGEH with their wicked anti - masses policies.

they are all former governors who can not point any any lasting meaningful thing they achieved during their time as governors.

ANYBODY SUPPORTING APC OR ADC SHOULD HAVE THEIR BRAINS CHECKED.

when God decided to use Moses to liberate Israel from the hand Egypt and take them to the promise land, He (GOD) didnt allow Moses to grow among his kindren/people.

the leader that will liberate nigerians from these sufferings can not be someone that have been in the corrupt system before.

Take it or leave it.

1nice:
"Your comment perfectly demonstrates the mindset that has kept Nigeria stagnant: rewriting history, masking systemic injustice as 'competition', and mocking legitimate grievances of an entire region as entitlement. Let me address your points clearly.

No one is threatening Nigeria with war—but when people demand equity and inclusion in a so-called federation and are continually met with hostility or dismissal, you interpret it as war because you benefit from the injustice.

The Igbos are not begging for presidency out of pity. We are demanding it as a matter of justice, fairness, and balance. Nigeria, if truly one nation, should reflect all its people in power—not just rotate it between a few regions while pretending it's meritocracy.

Yes, Tinubu and Buhari fought for power, but they had strong regional structures, alliances, and the system’s blessing. You conveniently ignore the institutional sabotage, media bias, and calculated marginalization that Igbo candidates have always faced.

If Nigeria is truly 'a jungle' where ‘everyone fights for everything,’ then don’t cry foul when others decide they’re done playing a rigged game. Separation and restructuring become valid options when inclusion is ridiculed.

You speak of 'strategizing', yet ignore that every time the Southeast aligns politically, they are labeled enemies of the state. Is it strategy or systemic exclusion you're defending?

So no, it's not about being 'given' anything on a platter of gold. It’s about confronting the hypocrisy of those who preach unity but practice exclusion, and who use jungle logic to justify oppression.

You may find comfort in your tribal echo chamber, but know this: Nigeria cannot thrive on lies, injustice, and the arrogance of the loud."
What is your own definition of injustice and exclusion?

Has any Igbo candidate ever been stopped from contesting in any presidential election?
If your answer is NO, it means you have no moral justification to talk about exclusion or injustice.

If you want Nigeria system to be reconstituted such that each region will be allowed to produce president on a turn-by-turn basis, kindly put pen to paper and write to the SE law makers in the national assembly to forward a bill in that regard.

The last election was by far the only time I have seen a serious and reputable/marketable Igbo candidate (Mr Peter Obi) contesting in a presidential election. Even though he didn't win, we all know he gave a good fight and he can always try harder next time.
But you guys want power to handed over to Igbos because they have tried for once.
It is not done anywhere bro. You keep fighting/trying until you get what you want.

Now that he has firmly gotten the power, I don't see any coalitions unseating him till the end of his 2 terms except God.

Someone even said tinubu will come fourth after Sowore grin

Let everybody rest pls.
Politics › Re: Civil War Looms: Why Nigeria Risk Collapse If Igbos Are Denied 2027 Presidency by Godfullsam(m): 2:04pm On Jul 06, 2025
Stop threatening Nigeria with war. We have since evolved that phase.

No body is stopping Igbos from becoming the president and no body will give it to them on a Plata of gold 🪙

Nigeria is a jungle where everybody fights for everything. It is all man for himself in this part of the world.

Tinubu didn't get to aso rock easily, buhari had to contest for several years before he became president.

But Igbos wants Nigeria to give them power out of pity or out of the fact that they have not provided any democratically elected president since independence.
Kilewerk!

You guys must strategize and get what you want. Else, you will remain marginalized and segregated till God knows when.

All these threat of war and separation can't change anything.
Politics › Re: Campaign Of Calumny: Aregbesola's Achievements As Interior Minister by Godfullsam(m): 5:56am On Jul 06, 2025
The only notable thing most people remember during his tenure as minister was his consistency in announcing holidays
I used to think that there was a new ministry established mainly for the purpose of announcing holidays headed by Aregbesola.

Just one year of the current minister of interior is far better than 4 years of Aregbesola as minister.

Not just Aregbesola o, virtually all the ministers under buhari (including buhari himself) were clueless and useless.

Unfortunately, balablu decided to continue from where buhari stopped and the results is obvious.

First of all, what tribe are you? Igbo ladies are not for men of every tribe, have this in mind. Igbo men know how to treat their ladies better than any man of others tribes. Are you ready to compete with Igbo men, because she will remind you how her sisters is taken care of by your fellow men. This your fellow men is Odogwu Igbo man. If you can't compete with her igboness do run away. To marry Igbo lady is not about checking if she's virgin or not. Is about is you are a complete man today, tomorrow and till death separate you apart.

Depends your tribe you can marry a kaduna lady even though she's 33, she may have not seen what Igbo girl has seen and can take shit from you which Igbo lady can't . You don't have anything to compete with and she's not going to remind you about how her sisters is taken care of by their husband, because of their sisters are fourth wife to some men.

But you need to mention your tribe, for proper checking.
Tribalism don wound this one. You can't even reason straight anymore because of tribalism.

Do you know the number of Igbo girls getting married to Yoruba men every year?
The statistics will shock you. Do you know how many Igbo girls getting married to other tribes every year?
Till date, Igbo girls are the easiest to fall in love with any man irrespective of tribe.
My neighbour is from Adamawa state and his wife is Igbo. My second neighbour and a narrator to one of my belongs is from langtang in plateau state and he married and Nsukka woman.
The list is endless. Almost all my ex are Igbos and my decision not to marry an Igbo lady was very deliberate.
Why are you trying to make it look like someone have to be a super human before he can marry an Igbo lady?

the number of people that will vote for APC or ADC in 2027 will determine the number of undetected psychiatric patients with voters cards in Nigeria.

INEC should hence fort begin to conduct brain test for people before issuing them voters cards.

like seriously, how can someone who claims to have a functioning brain convince me that a coalition party package by atiku, el-rufai, obi, aregbesola, Rotimi Amaechi etc etc will improve Nigeria? HOW?

there is simply no difference between ADC and APC. They are all bunch of criminals.
