PoliticsRe: Why Ajaokuta Steel Company Won’t Function Immediately – Minister by Godmann(m): 6:01am On Feb 04, 2016
grandstar:
That is Nigeria's largest white elephant!

The plant is a very unproductive plant compared to the super modern ones today.

Also there is a massive glut of steel inn the world market from China.

China has an excess capacity of over 250m tons. These has led to the dumping of steel and the EU and America have been forced to impose anti-dumping duties on chinese steel.

Its far cheaper to import than to make steel locally. Making steel here will put local users at a competitive disadvantage due to very steep prices.

Govt should do the needful. They should dynamite the place and ring it for miles with mines and lease the place out to ISIS
Keep off what you know little about. Every sane country needs a steel company.

Judging from your false analogy, why won't US and Europe close down their steel companies and buy cheaper ones from China? Why go the length of protecting to make their people pay higher price?

If we think manufacturing and self sufficient, we must have a steel company.

Lets assume that it is true that some witch in the village is responsible for your predicament.
If you are a christian, you have the power to either allow the witch to continue tormenting you or to put an end to her grip on you. Why? Because He that is in you is greater than he that is in the witch and at the mention of His name, every yoke is broken.
So it all boils down to you. You can choose to free yourself from the evil influence by using the authority you have in Christ or you can choose to remain under the oppression of the evil one.
And let assume there are no witches; then Christians are damned

Indeed!

By scholarships and non-interest grants. And by parents saving money for their child's education.....

If you think education is expensive, try illiteracy...R.Reagan.

And Scotland has high taxes, and earns a lot of money from oil, and corporate taxes. ....and has less than 6 million people. It also has light and water 24/7. Plus...alumni of Scot unis donate heavily to the unis....and the unis get research grants running into hundreds of million s of pounds.Nigerian unis cannot dream of that....plus you people would rebel if you were charged the same amount of taxes the average Scot pays.(Like Council tax, TV licence, income tax, etc).

Awoof education.....is not good for a nation.

Yes....so we should pay low fees....so that we can continue having poor funding for our unviersities? Sorry....but this is not the 1970's....when there were less than 90000 students in our universities. THis is now....where numbers may be higher than 2million

And how many are the smartest? Who determines who is smart? And won't the rich be over-represented among the smart.?

Simple fact is....if you want awoof education.....either you pay high taxes, like Denmark where it is 50% rate.......or you are an industrial nation like Germany and China.
Pray that God give you the firesight to appreciate what I said. I'm sure you are one of the privileged idiotic elites that whose priority is to keep the country down for their dumb relatives.

You all will soon be choked. The signs are already with us.
EducationRe: Augustine University: First Catholic University In Lagos Opens by Godmann(m): 11:48am On Oct 18, 2015
To you that are posting rubbish here, University is not meant for the richest but the brightest.

If Catholic University should cost N700k in this country, how will the church ensue that the smart but poor child get educated in such University?

People keep talking trash about how Costly American and British Universities are, but we know that hardly would there be a Bright American or British Child without access to University.

In Scotland that I know very well, a government loan system takes care off all, which you will start paying only when you earn above £16,000 per annum (as at 2009).

How does Nigeria compare to this?

The issue is not about the number of Universities or graduates but it's quality. How do we ensure that our Universities turns out the best among us? Is it by making it an exclusive preserve of the rich, whose fathers were all trained with community and Nigerian fund.

Our problem in Nigeria is a sick elite who only concern is to preserve the country for their children who may not be the smartest.

When we are ready as people, we will structure our country, the Univerties, the Ministries, the political offices, the companies etc. for the smartest among us and not for privileged idiots.

If we don't do that, we all perish in a sickening good for nothing entity called Nigeria

In politics u have two enemies.
(1)Those that help u to get the power: since u can not satisfy their numerous demand, as satisfying them will discredit ur government, this people become ur no1 enemy, e.g Tinubu. To handle this type of people, media is ur tool, u must remove there teeth or they will bite u. Removing there teeth means blocking there source of income to make them poor.

(2) Those people that u offended to gain power, e.g, opposition parties. These is another political enemy, to handle these set of people, just give me a call as u have nothing to fear. It is a game

I'm not Igbo but statements like this are better off not made. There's a lot of tension in this country right now and it would've bn better if he didn't reply at all than this

I've said it before that if I were a leader, If rather consult my worst critics on certain issues than surround myself with those that always sing my praise no matter what I do. Buhari has made some moves that are clearly wrong by all standards but these sycophants don't seem to see any.

And history will keep repeating itself.smh
Same sycophants that ruined Jonathan's government have defected to APC today

I've tried to stay away from commenting on politics section but I don't think it's right not to lend my small voice to very sensitive issues

If you love this administration, just tell Buhari the truth even when it hurts. If we don't, then you've collectively set him up to fail.
May your days be lessed

Apart from what you read about the team online or magazines, have you ever watched these boys live or seen them training?

These are the boys that won super 6 and AYC. Any good manager would do the same. If they lose, it wouldn't be because he kept Iheanacho, Moses, success and yahaya on the bench.
Let see how far you guys will go without the likes of Ihenacho, Yahaya, Moses, Success, Nwakali and Chidera Ezeh?

Do whatever you like; as always; they will certainly emerge as our Super eagles stars tomorrow. It did not start today, it has always been there.

You play your the ones love at your corruption infested underage football; but you can't force them on the Bigger European teams out there. We as youths of this country, we owe ourselves a duty not to fail in this dispensation.

Whatever our differences are; whether we believe that the President plans to make the assets declaration public later or not; it is better we leave nothing to chance.

The fate of Nigerians and the Blackman is too important to be left for chance.

I have been, and may still be a Buhari supporter, depending on how he handles this petition. I pray both Supporters and non-supporter to sign if you believe we desire a transparent government.

These manipulators in church are becoming public disturbances that should be done away with.

Adeboye should please pay us our 20billion import discount that GEJ gave to him. He is stealing from our collective purse. He should also produce Festus Akingbola, the fellow that stole 2billion dollars from Intercontinental Bank that himself (Adeboye) and GEJ conspired to hide from punishment.

To hell with his brand of Christianity. God can't answer Adeboye's prayer. He is a scamer.
