Many people are completely ignorant of the meaning of recess for National Assembly members. They think it is holiday to go and sleep. Smh.

National Assembly members are not Judges that will go on break while vacation Judges take over. The National Assembly members can be summoned urgently to reconvene for urgent national importance even at short notice. This has been happening almost every year!

Any politician who goes on recess for 7 weeks is finished politically! This is the break they will have for constituency and state political meetings and consolidation. This is equally time for many to attend to their lives outside politics especially family, health and business interests they had transferred their daily operations in the hands of others.

For some, right now, their families are in a complete disarray due to their long absence from home while for some, the private businesses they toiled to build before politics but left behind to serve in Abuja, several kilometres away from home and the business, are bleeding while for some, they are immediately proceeding for surgeries or life-saving health interventions they have been postponing. The recent back to back deaths among our National Assembly members were folks in their prime and their deaths were reportedly due to ill health they left unattended to.

For many that are really astute, the 2027 campaign has started and have started forming the right alliance. Just today, the only non-APC Imo State Senator decamped to APC. Such a Senator will work extremely hard for the next 7 weeks!

Recess ko redress ni. Only the naive or inexperienced one will take 7 weeks of rest.

Sometimes you struggle not to lose hope in Nigeria.
I am not partisan. I personally believe the problem of Nigeria is not the leaders but the followers. Leaders are not imported. Leaders are the reflection of the people. A people get the kind of leaders that they bred and deserve.

Forget politics. These are lawmakers given a mandate to work for Nigeria for a period. Especially at a time when almost nothing is at ease in the country. They signed a work contract like any worker- doctors, teachers etc.

Imagine a doctor who goes on 4-week recess almost every quarter of the year. But he wants the hospital and his patients to know that recess is not bad. Afterall,

1. He will only be gone for 7 weeks. In that time he can be called upon for any emergencies.
2. He is only going to consolidate his future as a medical doctor. He will be going to attend and spend time with his wives and children. Unlike every other Nigerian that strikes a balance between family and work, he needs special blocked time. The family of a doctor, a whole doctor, is not common.
3. He has other business interests that need him.

It's true that the currencies listed have performed very badly, but their computations are wrong.

For a currency to be negative 100, it means that you holding the currency is you owing in USD, which is impossible.

If the naira used to exchange at 50 naira to dollar and then it fell to 100 naira to a dollar, what is the percent depreciation?
What if the rate had become 200 naira to a dollar instead, what would be the percent depreciation?

What do you mean by 'fear' death?
If you mean do Christians, like other men, have fear of what lies beyond death? No genuinely born again believer is afraid of what lies beyond the grave. There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit Romans 8:1

If alternatively by fear of death you are thinking why don't Christians jump in the path of oncoming vehicles, the answers are even more straightforward. I will mention just two out of so many.

1. Do you realize that suicide is one of the most grievous sins anyone can commit against God? The God that commanded you not to kill your neighbour would not spare you if you took your own life. No heaven for the fearful and abominable. Whether you realize it or not, suicide is the most despicable form of cowardice.
2.. The uniform teaching of the Bible is that heaven is not just a place where we will float about in bliss. Heaven is a place of judgement for believers' works 1Corinthians 3:14-15. Our works will be evaluated and rewarded. Indeed some believers will suffer loss. By reason of being in Christ, these believers themselves will be saved but any work that does not stand the scrutiny of God's fire will be lost. Even in heaven, saints are not equal. I have a good secular job that pays my bills but I also pastor a church where I don't draw a penny as salary. Yet, my greatest fulfilment comes from watching people under my watch learn from God, grow in grace and have their lives transformed by God's power. You might find this impossible to believe but, if I have to choose between my secular job and pastoring, I will choose the latter. To live is Christ, to die is gain Philippians 1:21. If it's only in this life that we have hope, then of all men we are the most miserable 1Corinthians 15:19
