Oh dear. I just wish Nigerians stop this annoying attitude of 'we against them'. I didn't want Jonathan to continue neither was i convinced that Buhari was the answer. If there was anything voting out the last administration achieved, it was to tell every politician that the masses have the final say. The same brooms(not APC's) that swept out Jonathan are well preserved and can again and again clean out aso rock irrespective of the occupants. Let's stop the gloating, support right initiatives of the government and resist collectively the detrimental ones. Stop the factionalism. Support the nation not the regime. |
Two wrongs do not make it right. However stories like these scare me. It shows how deeply tribalism and other sentiments have destroyed our institutions. How comprehensible is it that the DSS could correctly identify the five murdered northerners in the midst of several unidentified persons that suffered similar fate and where probably buried at the same time? . The DSS could even immediately tell the perpetrators, their motives and remote sponsors. At that speed there should be no unresolved murder cases in Nigeria anymore. Let's fear God and shun hatred for others. |
If this is the true chronicle of events, Mr Adams obviously need help but perhaps all these was avoidable. Why leave the exam Hall to get a table without due recognition and approval from the invigilator? That alone can make the allegation of malpractice difficult to refute. Exams are serious business. |
My first thoughts after reading is there is a lot of contradictions in your little sis behaviour. Not all people that go to deeper life or enjoy their programmes are saints but it's extremely rare to find a 14 year old who cherish deeper life doctrines (judging from her diary entry) put up such rude and close to lewd behaviour as soliciting for money from a boyfriend. Are you sure she has not been using the retreat attendance as an excuse to be somewhere else? If she has really been good before now, something could have traumatised her and suddenly robbed her of her innocence. Could it be your father's sickness, an unpleasant personal experience at the hands of someone she trusted or some wrong (but sadly true) impression she might be getting from some friends or even you the big sis? Whichever way put aside the cane. It's time to befriend her, win her trust all over again (if you had it in the first place) and get her to talk to you. It will surprise you the secrets teenagers keep. I know. I pastor a youth church, though not deeper life for your curiosity. I pray God give you an answer of peace |
Dear God, Pls awaken our senses to what is right and help us to pay attention to what is needful and can't wait. A teen running away from home because of usual disagreement among siblings, acting too big to be rebuked by her own father, feeling immune because of N50000 and regularly fixing nails while homeless and lost. She is now a celebrity at 17 for being pregnant for a 21 year old guy she met at random who never thought it fit to ask about her parents or background. Really sometimes I wish stories like these are made up |
What a shame.
I have seen beggars riding on horses being led by Princes walking barefoot.
What a calamity! |
Thank God but I don't like that word permanent, friend. You are a work in progress. God is not finished with you yet if you know what I mean. Let no one including yourself limit how far you can reach in life. Again congrats! |
Ever heard of the nursery rhyme too many cooks spoil the broth. Beyond what anyone did or was alleged to have done, You can't have two captains in a ship. It's a sure recipe for disaster. |
Let me say from the outset that I am not holding fort for those who do this. I don't either. Having said that, it's true he can't try this in his country but it is only in Nigeria that you travel kilometres without seeing any convenience. We build malls, markets and even places of worship without decent restrooms. I recently had a workshop with some colleagues from a number of other African countries like Malawi, Kenya etc. You need to see the shock on their faces as we took them round public places including markets without a single toilets in many instances. I was quite ashamed when some of these my friends ran out of the restrooms at Olumo rock, a supposed tourist centre. Do you see the heaps of refuse that adorn the median section of our major roads every morning? What will it cost local neighbourhood to make provision for designated refuse collection points? Will such arrangements be too much for local landlords association in face of failure of constituted government? |
Are you concerned about the consistency of the deletions or the frequency of the little misunderstandings? You should be more worried about the latter. |
tempest69:Absolutely no one, friend. But the difference here is that a Christian does not sin habitually. Rather he is moving towards perfection. A driver drives, a swimmer swims and a sinner sins - non stop without recourse to God's word or His fear. Christians don't deliberately, intentionally sin. Sure you may be overtaken in a mistake or yield to an overwhelming temptation. I have a number of times but Christians don't excuse their imperfections. They are constantly asking God for help and growing in grace. No one expects his one year old daughter to be able to talk but he should be worried if the girl still can't talk by age seven. We are to grow in grace. Am I still battling with the temptations I battled four years ago as a Christian? Am I not taking the grace of God in vain? |
jenavism44:My only advice to you is Read your Bible. Search it and learn to do what it says not the private interpretation of a man like you. Ask sincerely for guidance from the HOLY Spirit when confused. He speaks, He teaches. Don't be a "my pastor said this, my pastor said that" Christian. It is those guided by the Spirit of God that are the children of God. |
tempest69:What exactly are you saying? That once you are saved you are forever saved, irrespective of what you do? There is a big danger when you quote a verse or two in isolation without a balanced view of other scriptures. In the same Hebrews chapter 10 you are quoting For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26-27 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.10.26-27.KJV No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. I John 3:9 Christians don't deliberately or habitually sin. If you do, you crucify Christ all over again Hebrews 6:4-6. Sure we don't live above sin by our own strength. It comes by God's empowerment, what we often call grace. When we become Christians God's seed is planted in us. It has the potential to grow, take root and bear fruits of righteousness if we nurture it. Unfortunately many Christians never give God's grace the chance. Flames of doubts fanned by teachers of false doctrines have snuffed out many men of God in embryo. |
