Ejadike:
how is it a market strategy?
Gadgets manufactured by tech companies all over the world have downsides most of the times.
This companies are aware of this,so they use it to their own gain.
How?
Well buy making the prices of highly efficient products have a higher cost of purchasing them, while the one's of a lower standard for less and mostly affordable.

You can see this in the phones industry,as iPhones are relatively high in price based on their features, compared to devices of low efficiency.

Crime / Another Christian Killed By 10-year Old ISWAP Member by godwingenesis472(m): 1:55pm On Jan 19, 2020
Islamic State West African Province has released a video that shows a Christian man being executed by an Islamic State child “soldier” in Borno, Nigeria.

In a video released by its news platform, Amaq agency, ISWAP said the Christian man was killed on Monday.

Pieter Van Ostaeyen, a member of the editorial board of the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism based in the Hague, said the “kid is about 10.”

In a video seen by The Guardian Nigeria, the jihadists showed the face of the man wearing a red kaftan and kneeling right in front of the young terrorist who made some recitations before shooting the man.

“Someone brainwashed that poor kid, deprived it of its innocence and made it believe it was justified to kill other people in the name of a sick ideology,” Tomasz Rolbiecki, a researcher on Islamic State’s attacks worldwide said.

“If anyone ever asks me what is the worst part of the Islamic State, I’ll show them this,” he added.

The killing comes weeks after ISWAP released a video claiming to show the killing of 11 Christians.

The militants said it was part of its recently declared campaign to “avenge” the death of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi during a US raid in Syria in October.

No details were given about the victims, who were all male, but ISWAP says they were “captured in the past weeks” in Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno State.

One captive in the middle was shot dead while the other 10 are pushed to the ground and beheaded.

“We killed them as revenge for the killing of our leaders, including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and [IS spokesman] Abul-Hasan al-Muhajir,” said a member of the group’s media unit, according to Ahmad Salkida, a journalist who was first sent the video.

Phones / Does Your Phone Overheat? These 5 Tips Can Help by godwingenesis472(m): 11:28am On Jan 19, 2020
Warmer temperatures almost always mean you will be going out more often and it is a given that your phone(s) will be your number one companion.

While we stay careful enough to take precautions against sun damage on our skin when out in the heat, ensure you protect your phone as well to avoid overheating. In order to avoid this, make do with this tips enlisted below:

Avoid direct sunlight on your phone. The easiest way to prevent overheating is to keep your phone out of the sun. Your phone catches heat from the sun and retains it, getting hotter the longer it remains in sunlight and heat.

Put unused apps to sleep. Unused apps running in the background cause your phone to work harder, which in turn causes it to heat up. The solution is super simple – on an iPhone, for example, all you have to do is press your home button twice and swipe the apps away. This will also increase your phone’s battery life.

Avoid increasing your screen brightness. Just the same as running background apps, turning your brightness up will force your battery to work harder and create more heat. Instead, look for an anti-glare cover for your device. This low-cost solution can help you see your screen in the sun.

Switch to airplane mode. Airplane mode allows you to continue to use basic functions on your phone but turns off other non-essentials that can take a toll on your battery and phone in general.

Take your case off. If your phone is overheating, your case isn’t helping. Taking the case off will allow the phone’s heat vents to do their job fully without being blocked while allowing your phone to cool down quicker.
Health / Dealing With Catarrh During Harmattan by godwingenesis472(m): 10:40am On Jan 19, 2020
Dr. Olayide A. Jinadu, Medical Director at Charis-Med Hospital, Lagos defines catarrh as an abnormal secretion that accumulates within the nasal cavity during an inflammatory process at the back of the nose (upper airway) aggravated by an infection or irritation.

Does catarrh show any symptoms?

CATARRH itself is a symptom, not a disease. Symptoms are pointers to a disease process occurring in the living body. Catarrh is a symptom of an allergy or a respiratory tract infection, not the other way around. Other symptoms that might accompany catarrh are fever, sore throat, cough and headaches.

What causes catarrh?

IT is commonly caused by a self-limiting virus (common cold virus), which might just run its course and might require no treatment. It could be caused by the bacteria affecting the sinuses (air spaces) within the skull. It could also build up as a response to allergens (things that provoke an allergic reaction). In other words, it could be a result of allergies. Examples of allergens are pollen grains, dust and dust mites, smoke, animal danders, strong perfumes and even some food.

What are the treatments?

Catarrh usually runs its course without treatment. However, if the condition persists longer than expected (well over three weeks), you should probably see your doctor. If it is caused by the common virus, you might require no serious treatment. If caused by a more serious bacterial infection, your doctor would place you on appropriate antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and anti-allergies.

If caused by allergies, your doctor would place you on anti-allergies and anti-inflammatories. Vitamin C is also a very important ingredient. Please note that some of these cases might require surgery, as it could be a pointer to something more sinister. Recurrent catarrh, drooling and sore throat in a child less than five years could be a result of massive tonsillitis, adenoiditis, or even a congenital respiratory or heart problem.

Are there home remedies for catarrh?

There are countless home remedies for catarrh. It all depends on tradition and the part of the world you find yourself. Note, however, that none is superior. People having catarrh should drink a lot of clean water to stay hydrated. They should avoid undue exposure to cold. Rather, they might take something hot (hot tea, hot chocolate or soup, and not alcohol) or something minty to clear the sinuses.

Harmattan is a season to expect more asthmatic attacks, because dust, a major component of the season is notorious for aggravating allergic reactions as we have in asthmatics. Nose bleeding is not left out this season. Mild trauma to the nose could unleash a scary amount of nose bleeding. This is as a result of the friable (fragile) blood vessels within the nose, which become extra thin during the harmattan season and ready to bleed on contact. This nose bleed can just be stopped by plugging the nostril(s) with cotton wool and elevating the head. The skin is usually very dry and thin this season, making it very prone to abrasions and bruises. So, people should ensure they keep their skin moist.

It is advised to dress appropriately this season to avoid unnecessary respiratory tract infections and allergies. Asthmatics should walk around with their inhalers. But if symptoms persist despite home remedies, then visit your doctor.

Health / Rain Brings Joy For Australian Firefighters, Farmers by godwingenesis472(m): 11:21am On Jan 17, 2020
Drought-breaking storms dumped desperately needed rain on some bushfire-ravaged parts of eastern Australia on Friday while giving joy to many farmers who have faced losing precious livestock and crops.

The rains gave exhausted firefighters a boost in battling some of the blazes, with more relief expected over the weekend as the wet weather is forecast to hit other hotspots.

The unprecedented fires, fuelled by climate change and a years-long drought, have claimed 28 lives over the past five months.

They have scorched massive tracts of pristine forests in eastern and southern Australia, decimated livestock on already barren farms and destroyed 2,000 homes.

Following extreme hot and dry weather that have fuelled the fires, Friday saw the heaviest rainfalls in nearly a decade in some areas close to hotspots.

“Rain has fallen across most fire grounds over the last 24 hours, which is great news,” said the Rural Fire Service of New South Wales, the eastern state where many of the worst blazes have raged.

“Our fingers are crossed that this continues over the coming days.”

Crisis not over

However the rains have not hit all fires in New South Wales, nor in the state of Victoria to the south, where many of the worst blazes are raging.

The rain has also completely missed Kangaroo Island, the nation’s third, biggest off the southern coast of the mainland that is famed for its pristine wilderness.

Fires have devastated the national park on the island, wiping out much of its koala population and threatening to completely eradicate bird and other endemic marsupial species.

Authorities have warned the crisis could worsen again with Australia only halfway through its summer.

Celebration

Still, the prospect of more wet weather across eastern and southern Australia over the coming days offered further hope.

The bushfires and the drought have pushed many farmers in Australia to the brink, and this week’s heavy rain gave many rare causes for celebration.

“What can I say, we are so lucky. Before this, dams were dry, and we were carting water and feeding stock for months,” Stephanie Stewart, who lives on a farm in northern New South Wales, told AFP.

“This has made life a lot easier on the land, that’s for sure. Now hoping it spreads and can ease the burden for so many other amazing farmers who have been and still dealing with this dreaded drought.”

Animal rescues

Roughly a billion animals are estimated to have died in the fires nationwide.

With huge tracts of their habitats destroyed, environmental groups have warned the blazes could drive many species to extinction.

Much attention has focused on Australia’s tree-dwelling koalas, with images of the cuddly-looking animals being rescued from wildfires making world headlines.

But on Friday morning, some koalas and other native animals at the Australia Reptile Park on the east coast of New South Wales had to be rescued from floodwaters.

“This is incredible, just last week, we were having daily meetings to discuss the imminent threat of bushfires,” park director Tim Faulkner said.

“Today, we’ve had the whole team out there, drenched, acting fast to secure the safety of our animals and defend the park from the onslaught of water.

“We haven’t seen flooding like this at the park for over 15 years.”

Rain dangers

The heavy rain is being seen as a double-edged sword.

The water could also make it harder for firefighting trucks to venture deep into forests on muddy tracks, authorities have warned.

Flash floods are another concern, with scorched mountains unable to hold the water and potentially sending torrents of muddy ash into waterways.

Such torrents have already led to huge numbers of fish dying in rivers that were poisoned by the muddy ash, local media have reported.

Crime / She Faces Prison Charges For Not Saving Portrait Of Kim Jong-il In Fire Outbreak by godwingenesis472(m): 8:31am On Jan 17, 2020
A woman in North Korea has been facing the whim of the law for not rescuing the leader’s portrait in a fire incident.

The woman has been placed under investigation by the country’s Ministry of State Security after a fire broke out in a home shared by two families in Onsong County, North Hamgyong Province, close to the Chinese border according to Daily Mail.

Both sets of parents were out at the time the fire started but raced back to save their families after seeing smoke. In the process, one set of portraits was destroyed.

It is one of the obligations of the citizens in North Korea to display paintings of its past leaders, Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il, the inspectors are sent to ensure that all families abide by this.

According to the Hermit Kingdom’s laws, all depictions of the Kim family must be treated with the same reverence as the men themselves – meaning failure to care for the portraits properly is a serious crime.

If found guilty, the mother is facing a lengthy prison sentence with hard labour.

As a result of the investigation, she cannot tend to her children in the hospital, nor obtain antibiotics for their burns.

Neighbours were said to be eager to help but decided to stay away fearing that she will be charged with a political crime.

North Koreans who rescue their Kim portraits from floods and fires are feted as heroes – especially if they die in the attempt.
