A40: What level can be higher than leading a team to their first league title in 30 years amassing 67 points from a possible 69 so far. When in the history of European football has a team won 22 out of its first 23 league games in a top 3 European league? One has to make a convincing argument first that Klopp is better than Benitez, and after that that he is better than Ancelotti, Mourinho and some other coaches before even trying to compare him against Pep. |

Klopp is the key here not the squad, and if he's to coach this present squad, then I put my money on Liverpool to hypothetically win too( tho with a slim margin) 2004/2005 Chelsea is prime Mourinho. There is no premier league team I am betting against that team . 15goals conceded in 38matches with a back line of Bridge-Terry-Gallas-Ferreira. |

Its a boring match up In the sense we already know the winner. This fight has been picked very carefully by Conor and his men. Cowboy is a choker so easy W for McGregor. |

Ibime: There is no standing 8 count in MMA and that makes it safer than boxing. If you cannot recover and fight back immediately after a knockdown, the ref will stop the fight, saving you from potential brain injury. . . unlike in boxing where you can get knocked down 4 times like Joshua and fight continues. You will take more superficial injuries in MMA but less fatal brain injuries. In my opinion Its easier to defend yourself in boxing if you are out matched and you are safer as you can just drop to the ground and its over . Joao Carvalho who died was punched 9 times in the head when he was on the ground with no signs of him being able to defend himself. MMA is too brutal and it's ground and pound element also results to many negativity. No one wants to see a semi conscious defenceless person take 5-10 full force blows to the head before ref steps in. That needs to change. |

That's what I'm asking about.
AJ was not a mandatory to Ortiz, so who are these mandatories he has ducked? AJ was definitely a mandatory. Rejected a 7 million offer which would have been his highest paycheck in his career and a shot at 3 titles. He definitely ducked AJ and Dillian Whyte also revealed Ortiz rejected a £2M offer to fight him. Boogeymen doesn't reject offers. |

Like i said before, the fact that Ruiz did it does not mean a 40yr old should do it
Anyway your claim was that Ortiz has been ducking mandatories. This AJ story does not qualify, and even if true a single event does not confirm a trend. Maybe, maybe not but he was a chicken for rejecting. but when your highest pay day was 500k vs wilder and you are offered 7 million and a shot at 3 titles isn’t enough i don't know what will ever make him fight AJ. That is what you call a ducker. He ducked AJ after saying this in February “So look, if you want to fight I’m here and stop saying I priced myself out because I’ve never had no offers to fight you. With all respect to you for all you have done, I’ll fight you for just about any money you offer me so if you can’t work out the Miller fight, I’m here and ready." He also had 6 weeks Notice with wilder, which is the exact time he would have had I made my conclusion from the AJ rejection and his entire career till date. |

Ahhh there you go with this outboxing business again. Deontay Wilder is not a boxer, I mean people talked about Tyson lacking boxing skills and being a bruiser. Wilder is even worse but unlike Tyson he doesn't even need a combo to drop you flat on your back
What good is your boxing skills if you can't avoid Wilder's right? Agreed AJ boxing resumen has been impressive. Maybe I am putting too much emphasis on “boxing” and not enough on winning. Wilder is at the top because he has the tools to win, which at the end of the day is all that matters I just like my boxers to be technically gifted. |

It's not about getting outboxed. Wilder is a KO artist and not a boxer. This man has been in 43 fights, only two has gone the distance. This man is not out to win rounds or outbox you he's out to knock you the fuq out
The Fury I saw vs Wallin has a lottt of work to do. He will have to go for the K.O this time else there is no guarantee he would rise from another knockdown
Knockout artists rarely ever lose on points you either knock them out or get knocked out Rematch between Fury and Wilder has been officially fixed for the 22nd of February. Who are you rooting for? |

Wilder took his O, and gave him the 2 Ls of his career.
So please stop saying Ortiz is old like that's an excuse. Why is no-one else beating his old äss then? Ortiz has always ran away from the mandatories. You can't avoid mandatories and he could have easily forced his way into a championship fight long before fighting Wilder if he wasn't a chicken. Ortiz has never been avoided but rather he was avoiding everyone to pad his undefeated record. And then it was fed to Wilder, twice. If Ortiz is thrown into a ring with someone like Povetkin he will be exposed as a fake buggy man and then the two wins Wilder has over him will look quite bad and ordinary. |

I mean where do you go from there? I swear my guy this was what I was tell A40. He has so many weaknesses that I don't know why others are not taking advantages of. Joshua will be a good match up and even Ruiz. He ate some serious headshots from Parker and Joshua and still kept going. I know Wilder's power is god level but so is ruiz 's chin also. |

A40: Breazale and Stiverne aren't pygmies.
Forget Dr Steel hammer. His era was one the wackest in Heavyweight history. We saw his punching power vs Fury where he barely touched him all 12 rounds. Wilder has his weaknesses but 10 title defenses tells me he hasn't been exposed yet Well he has been fighting bums all along. He was fighting unranked cruiserweights in his 20th bout and his title defences have been a joke up until the last 4 fights . Most of his 10 title defense have been against bums, with the exception of Fury (who beat him) and Ortiz (who is pushing 70). He has been outboxed by the likes of Washington, Szpilka and was 5-1 down on my card against an old man Ortiz before he got the KO. Thing about Wilder, he's the only boxer that is always getting outboxed, yet you always know he's gona win in the end. |

nihilistjnr: Forget all that one o.
Obviously, Wilder isnt trying too hard in sparring at the champs training camp
Person wey no get technique, only KOs, and hes not allowed to use his KO ability, what do you expect really?
It was fury that said wlad disciplined deontay, but fury beat wlad, and got dropped twice by wilder.
Audley Harrison used Wilder in his camp against David Price, and Wilder injured but didn't ko him.
When they met in the ring properly, wilder officially ended his career.
Bro I used to be standing on your ledge before, that a technical boxer would eat wilder alive.
Now I'm off that...that guys hand is the equalizer Wilder has scary power, but lets not get carried away and act like every second of every fight is just according to Wilder's plan. He was getting outboxed, and he was losing rounds. If that's a professional fighter's gameplan, it's not a commendable one even given Wilder's power. That sort of tactic will work until it doesn't, and it almost didn't against Fury. He will soon gets his long over due L come February 22nd. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Godx: 6:54pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
A40: Sometimes that is all you need. It's worked for him his last 43 fights. Who are we to question his skills when almost 40 professional boxers have failed to solve his puzzle.
I have no problem with a limited fighter that finds a way to get it done. Wilder has a durable chin and a ton of heart too so he can stay upright while trying to find his way. You can wobble him but you won't drop him. Even your Fury got caught twice and has been dancing around a rematch ever since.
If a cab man like Otto Wallin left Fury bleeding what do you think will happen when he faces a fighter who has nuclear warheads for hands. Especially considering Fury himself lacks KO power which means Wilder for all his lack of skill will always be in the fight regardless The Fury that showed up against Wallin doesn't have a chance in hell against the Wilder and I don't want to ever see that Fury again. I just know Wilder is limited and looking for the knock out all the time won't work on aggressive fighters or smart ones like the gypsy king. Everybody knew Fury won the first match and the draw decision was even questionable to many. I can't believe how many heavyweights have fallen into this same trap over and over and over again, It's not like Wilder is doing anything special or different in there. It's the same thing double jab then a straight right down the windpipe. The real question people need to ask is that this guy is a one handed fighter he can only knock you out with a right hand I am asking myself how and why no one has been able to neutralize his right hand. If the punch was coming in from a weird angle or at blinding speed then it makes sense but it isn't any of those things it's a straight right. Compare and contrast Manny Pacquiao, back in the day Manny could only knock you out with a straight left hand this was his bread and butter punch. Then when he came into contact with JMM and after the first round JMM neutralized the effectiveness of that punch. This is why Freddie Roach prevented Manny from immediately rematching him and sought to develop Manny's right hand hence the term Manilla Ice for his right hook. The thing with Manny though at least he had blinding footspeed, great footwork, a threw loads of punches and threw them from crazy angles. Deontay, on the other hand is just basic and I get that he hits hard I understand that I really do but there are so many ways you can shut it down which Fury did to some level. At the elite level of the lighter weight classes, you need way more than just one trick to become a consistent and long term champion. Wilder is literally a Jab and a straight right, pretty much how Klitschko was a jab jab grab fighter. Though with Wlad at least he had great boxing skills while Wilder has none. |

nihilistjnr: Did you watch the first fight between both men?
Fury outboxed Wilder in all 12 rounds.
Most people had Fury ahead on points....but Fury was sent to the canvass 3 times.
The last time, Fury went to meet his maker but was sent back at gate to go and finish the round
You sound like you're trying to provide some sort of insight with this post.
Let me give you the real gist now. Nobody is beating wilder on points...it's not going to happen.
Your only hope is to KO the Mofo, or you accept the KO. And many e.g Ortiz and Stiverne have rattled the man, buzzed him well, rung his bell, but his chin is terminator like.
If you think you're going to circling or setting traps for a nigga that doesn't even care about foot placement, stance or ring control, you're on a long thing.
Wilder has changed the game. Wilder is not invisible my friend. He has a few things to change. I know he has the punch and he figures he can lose rounds because he will eventually catch his opponent and put him to sleep but that's not going to keep working. Technically it didn't work against Fury, he lost all but 3, maybe 4 rounds against him and just happened to get a lucky draw out of it. He has to throw some punches. He paws with a jab and just avoids any exchange. Other than the couple big rights he lands per fight, he struggles to create his own offense. He threw a few really nice left hooks to the body in the seventh against Ortiz but even that is a problem because as he throws that punch, his right hand drops, he gets taller and opens himself up. Landing 4 punches a round through the 1st 5 rounds might work against a 40 year old opponent that can only press the action for a few seconds at a time but it won't work against Ruiz, Fury, Joshua, or anyone else who isn't afraid to be aggressive with him. I dont even see Ruiz getting KO'd, even by Wilder. He ate some serious headshots from Parker and Joshua and just kept on coming at them. I know Wilder's power is next-level but so is Ruiz's chin. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Godx: 1:29pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
afrodoc2: You can't be so sure about that. Fury is the better boxer and has the reach advantage so he will be able to dictate pace and distance better, thereby scoring points while protecting himself as much as possible. You however seem to underestimate the significance of single punch knock out power in the heavyweight division. As a heavyweight 2 crucial things that can't be taught but are very important are having a strong chin and having real knockout power.
Everybody gets hit during the course of a fight. The problem is trying to go 12 rounds without getting hit by a man who is walking around with a murder weapon disguised as a right hand. Wilder can afford to make 2, 3, 4 or even more mistakes in a fight and still win, but his opponents can't afford to make any mistake at all.
That right hand is top 5 all time and unlike Foreman and Tyson he has stamina and retains the power till the late rounds, and unlike Shavers he appears to have a chin. His major flaw which he shares to an extent with Shavers (probably due to their late start in boxing) is his lack of boxing skill. However he has the ultimate equalizer. I will say Wilder is a fitter, more athletic version of Shavers. The Black Acorn could KO a charging rhino when he landed. Mind you, Shavers was a much better boxer than Wilder! Fury should be licking his lips after Wilder fight with Ortiz. . Fury has the size, skill and chin to beat Wilder. The big advantage Wilder used to have is his height and reach. Fighters have to be wary, as Wilder can usually hit them before they can hit him. Fury doesnt have to jump through that hurdle. Ortiz is also a southpaw, which worked in Wilder's favor and he still hardly landed any Punch. The straight right is always there when facing a southpaw. Much more than a conventional fighter. I see Fury boxing from the outside, circling to Wilder's left, nullifying that right hand. Just needs to make sure he doesnt trade with him, even if he looks hurt. I am just so confident about Fury chances. |

A40: I respect Fury's heart and skills and also feel he should have nicked the decision vs Wilder but you can't underplay the Champions advantage especially when said Champion put you on the floor twice.
Whether Wilder should be scared or ashamed of not beating a sluggish and overweight Fury is immaterial. Fury is a professional athlete and it's his problem if he chooses not to keep himself in peak mental and physical condition to convincingly win fights. He's 3 years younger and fought almost 20 fights less than Wilder. He has no excuse Fact is there is nothing special about Wilder apart from his freakish KO ability. He is a one trick pony who couldnt lay a glove on a 56 year old fighter until the superb right hand. Wilder is 6 foot 7 with very long arms and he has no jab or any boxing skills whatsoever. He just uses a jab as a range finder for the right hand and other shitty fighters with limited skills and slow reactions end up getting caught. I don't see Wilder getting a chance against Fury if the fight eventually happens. |

A40: Fury has been the one running from Wilder though. Fighting cab men, going to the WWE etc. Remember he is a father of 5 Those distractions are good for Fury. He looked burned out in his last fight, he needed a break from training. The problem with Fury is if hes not training or doing something his mental health suffers. So staying active with wrestling etc plus getting a break from constant boxing training is a perfect solution. Wilder should be scared and ashamed he couldn't beat a sluggish and overweight Fury last time out. |
