One thing I like Chelle he defends his players no matter what. One major reason I want him to stay on and the major reason I don’t want our local coaches! Period!

my point of exactly… we could not even build without any interruption from the ref, all the Moroccans had to do was fall, the crowd will shout, the ref blows, how could we even build momentum, clean free kick, corners, they refused to give, yellow cards to for legit offenses in the game where not given. We could have won that game in good time, the host needed to go to penalty more, they knew that’s where they stood a chance, you have to actually watch with keen eye to see this .
The Moroccan fans had their own whistles according to one of the Nigerian content creators in Morocco he even did a video advising the Senegalese fans to troop into the stadium in the final with their own whistles too and blow whenever the pressure was on their players he said that’s what the Moroccans were doing to distract the referee and that was the mistake they as Nigerians in the stands made without having whistles to blow their own back. It was an eyesore and anyone still saying the Moroccan players were better on the night need to do more retrospective.

this woman won zero trophies during the period under review but somehow she merited the award over justin madugu that won WAFCON and even got to the top 5 ranking of the ballon dor coach of female national team of the year. Morocco is very deliberate about this. They are hosting caf competitions and they are making sure they get something out of it whether by hook or by crook.
It’s so terrible especially coming after a dubious semi final match! This is laying a bad precedence and we will all suffer for it as a continent.

I agree about the officiating but we could only register 1 shot on Target and 2 shots overall..

This is the same thing the Algerians are saying that we condemn them for. Blaming the ref

I'm not a coach but elven I expected the ref to be very boased. I mean it's obvious that Morocco will be served this trophy on a platter

Was the ref biased? YES

Was chelle tactical enough? NO

In the first half, you saw we were figured out and didn't make the necessary changes in the 2nd half early enough.

Although i .Just give kudos to the marked impr9vementa we saw in the team this AFCON

But he needs to be willing to take a bit more risk in making changes as soon as possible

I'm of the opinion that if he'd switched to wing play with Ejuke subbed in, we would've hit those guys unexpectedly and may have snuck away with a win

As foe the officiating, let Morocco continue. Sheba world cup dey come, let me see them wiggle their way to the finals with officiating..nobody send their papa
All those our attacks that ref was breaking all in the name of fouls would have resulted into more shots on target so I don’t buy that excuse of we only could get one or two shots. The whole officiating was targeted at our dominance pattern and am now actually questioning the notion that the Moroccans were better. See that run that Bruno was making and he got pulled over by Diaz that definitely was heading for a cross to our strikers what about that run too from Ademola that was cut short by the ref all in the name of a throw in that was never was. Those kind of runs gave Ademola the number of assists he has in this competition so the match was a script well acted not any tactical game. That was the only way the morrocans could contain us yet they couldn’t score. So how was Chelle tactically beaten?

The Moroccans should forever be grateful to chuks and Bruno for their unfortunate loss of pks that saw them through

na even for q/final dem for jam sef i think. They got their chance and luck joined. Same with how Argentina won France.

World cup slot will make us forget all of this in a jiffy. But i also hope we go like we mean it. We need to do it better than Keshi's 2013 led set.
Egypt wey no play anything na im knock them out and the civ team this year was far better with likes of Amad than the one that won the last Afcon. If they brought that same team from the last Afcon i doubt they will make it out of the group stage.

As for the World Cup am indifferent as our drama off the pitch is beginning to irritate me especially all these bonus allowance ish

Just forget, this is the peak KissAs Afcon. Morocco will lift their thing. Infact the wafcon too, the women team will win it too. Complete sweep. Lol

This Egypt game is inconsequential. Let the team B get afcon minutes abeg. The only reason they might want to win Egypt is cos Chelle go need something to put for CV. Else, let Egypt just take 3rd place. We have too many already.
Honestly now I wish CIV made it to the final to face Morocco so they will get their own taste of the medicine they also served us in the last finals.

All these talk of they were the better side we for know whether na true or not!

You think other world class coaches at the world cup won't figure him out?

Boss, they won't do more than second round
In our game against Algeria our coach was dynamic make we no lie he had different approaches for that game. The terrible officiating in the semi finals affected whatever approach we brought.

Exactly Baba Morocco has to win at all cost, and it becoming a shame. CAF is becoming a stooge for Morocco's football or how do you explain a coach that came third in CAF women champion"s league to be d best women's coach of d year and left out d one dat won AWCON.

Or is there a criteria dey use dat we are not aware off. CAF is a disgrace dis year.
Motsepe just Dey sell awards and titles to the highest bidder they guy no even send whether the optics look good or not. I can imagine if he was a Nigerian how he would have been tagged as just exhibiting the corruption image Nigeria is known for.

This is exactly my sentiment.

If we don't conspire to self destruct, this team will peak in a beastly mode come 2027 with just a little tweak here and there.

Neutrals insist the Super Eagles are the best team in this tournament just unfortunate that they lost a scripted match.

Interestingly, they seem to mirror the trajectory of the 94 Eagles that we all love so much

Everything started in 1989 when they narrowly lost the World Cup ticket to Cameroon. The following year, they were Afcon finalists .

Two years later, they got the bronze but the signs were already there. By 1994, they had peaked and we all knew they were going to win that tournament.

This team is towing the same path. Final 2 years ago and probably bronze this time, by the next Afcon I believe they would have jellied so much to make them very formidable.
omo you know history, we got silver in 1990, bronze in 1992, and then won in 1994. If we don't self-destruct like you pointed out, we are surely on our way to Glory. Unfortunately, this Afcon was held in Morocco, we would have won it but God dey! We can't have two APOTYs for nothing; it's supposed to count.

If Senegal do anyhow, dem go chop red card, kudos to our boys for even keeping their head cool despite the provocations from the ref and the fans. But the Senegal I know is more physical than our guys and cards go flow wella for that game cos Morocco has to win at all costs.

TheGoodJoe, I know you said you have accepted the ref disrupted our pressing game and rhythm again and again but kindly see this compilation done by Kurotams of FootballFanstribe.

Just leaving it here for the records and to show that bad officiating consistently ditched out moments after moments and after moment in a game does affect a team's rhythm, flow, momentum and gameplan.

International commentators even asked.... "where was the foul?" in the Simon vs Hakimi battle on the left.

Note: I have left this plane but I drop these here as evidence so no one will come tell us months from now that the ref didnt impact how the game went.

#TheRobberyOfRabat
I will continue to say it that the so called dominance of the North Africans in club football is a sham. If the acclaimed sports facilities they boast of can’t make them play fair then there is no point they hosting tournaments. African football will start dying slowly with these kind of antics. I remember when the Moroccans were knocked out in the last Afcon and how they accused CAF and everyone of racism just because they can’t compete fairly. We are in soup with these guys for as long as they are part of the continent. What a shame!

There is nothing Aina want to show than fitness.Osayi overall performance wasn't better than Aina performance in the last Afcon abi you don forget ni baba...Aina does it at RB and even as LB in the last Afcon...Osayi had not raised any bar relating to performance as RB,is like telling us Bruno has raised the bar too....I gave it to Calvin Bassey and he will be missed against Egypt
No one denies what Aina did last Afcon, but going forward, we should always let our players do the talking for themselves on the pitch. Ekong did so much last Afcon, too; he was even the man of the tournament. That Aina has nothing to show but fitness can't just be the criterion anymore.

Most foreign analysts are full of praise for both Bruno and Osayi, and that says a lot. Perhaps these guys were actually far better than what most Nigerians actually thought. Even Ajayi wey many of us no rate, has been highly commended too.

grin osayi was never a player I talked about here before afcon as he was never on my radar, and funny enough, I was one of those who started mentioning how the player did well against Tunisia when many still like Delaw, still doubted him (with their valid views). If Aina is better, he has to show it on the pitch, no cap, cos with what Osayi has done in this Afcon we no go accept anything lesser than that performance in that role, that's my point. No be by name any player go bench anyone for Eagles again. Lest we forget, Zaidu was still a starter in our first game in this AFCON. Today, he has lost his place.

We'll keep on trying till we get the fourth star. It was over a decade before we won in 2013. African football is so tough atm that's it hard to dominate like that Egyptian side of old. NFF just have to run their administrative side with a serious approach
Egypt last won it in 2010 and since then e blur for them. The rise of nations like Ivory Coast, Senegal, Morocco and other mid level nations has made Afcon more difficult. And with the influx of foreign born talents for the francophone and North African countries omo Afcon will continue to get harder just like Euro where the bigger soccer nations now finds it difficult to win.

Is there any report Osayi played with injury? At least, we heard about injury of Aina and after that final, he went missing from Nottingham Forest starting 11.
Osayi had to pass a late fitness test to play the game yesterday. I heard it from some foreign analysts, in fact, in the game against Algeria dude was limping to complete that game.

My point is, Aina can't simply walk into our starting line-up easily again; he has to fight for that shirt now, and the team is looking more competitive as we now have more options. Who would have thought that a whole Chukwueze will chop bench tire at this afcon. Na this overhype of some certain players dey affect us at times, see the Onyedika we thought was class, now we know he can't displace Ndidi easily. Aina is welcome back anytime, but he must earn it now.

you will hear talks like
“why will ref cheat them na”
“we dont deserve this win, the ref was so bias with us”
na overconfidence kill us for 2000 until Cameroon started scoring in the final match, a game that shouldn't have entered extra time, again raising our game in moments that matter.
