Mujtahida: What our players lack is heart and grit. Look at Cape Verde. Sometimes it's not skills. It's determination.
Only Bassey and Osimhen have this spirit in our team.
I don't know how rugged determination can be instilled in our players.
This lack of fierceness robbed us of the Afcon final against CIV
Robbed us of WC qualification against DR Congo.
Robbed us of the semi against Morocco.
Warrior mentality. Even mediocres become stalwarts with that kind of mentality. Our fine boy football Dey tire person! So tey Rwanda and Zimbabwe go Dey drag World Cup qualifiers with us people we suppose Dey wipe oraimo cord 5-0, 6-0 |

realpoacher: Newsflash...
He won't stop unless he is stopped. He is there to promote SA football interests.
Other FA people in there need to stand up to him and tell him a big NO!..
And if they don't, then let the Nigerian Reps there stop him forcefully. Its high time Nigerians learn to take their work space politics, and gra gra out there too and play it at the bigger stage to the benefit of the country.
Its not only local bad-belle, tribal hatred and wickedness we should be displaying within the country, while becoming MuMu outside where it matters most. 1 million gun salute 🫡 for this! I can’t even say this better! 💯 Our mumu too much for international diplomacy and politics. |

realpoacher: If you don't have it, you simply do not have it.
Tough mentality is not what in train into a player.
Did anybody put it inside Osimehen and Bassey?
This thing boils down to individuals,.. you should allow it to come to you naturally. It should possess and engulf you.
I saw a slight spark of it in Akors' play against Portugal, actually Akor has had abit of it since he came on against lesoto but it's been off and On, unlike Osimehen and Bassey who wears it like Constant k.... As in na follow come,...
It even shows in the way they walk, talk and do things outside football.
Sadly a quality missing in majority of our players. You’re very right if Akor can be more consistent we may have the return of a daniel Amokachie |

minfelix: Cape verde really doing well on the continent…it took PK shootout for SA to oust them in 2023 afcon.
Their surge started in 2013 when they qualified to the quarterfinals of the afcon… we even played a 0-0 friendly with them that year Exactly you know book jare and someone is asking what have they done. The same eagles that won Afcon in 2013 couldn’t defeat then in a friendly. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 7:18pm On Jun 15 |
Samueltemi337: Which well in Afcon The only Afcon they did well was in Afcon 2023 where they reached the quarter finals Afcon 2021 they were eliminated in the round of 16 Afcon 2019 they didn't even qualify They aren't doing anything in Africa like you said I disagree they’ve been growing gradually in the game on the continent. The eagles couldn’t defeat them in a friendly years ago. Getting to the quarterfinals in Afcon is no fluke for a team like Cape Verde. It’s speaks to their growth But for inexperience they would have snatch a late winner today. |

Samueltemi337: What have they been doing? A team that could not even qualify for the last Afcon But here they are in the World Cup and up till Afcon 2023 they’ve been doing well in all afcon competitions they’ve been in for their stature in the game |

TheSuperNerd: It is all political. Just like how Johnbullmyson pointed out when I reported Somali Ref, Omar Artan being denied US entry visa for the FIFA WC but getting appointed by UEFA to officiate the 2026 Uefa Super Cup Final. I knew of the political undertones but just focused on what it means for Artan.
Uefa president Ceferin and FIFA Boss, Infantino dont see eye to eye on certain football matters with huge financial implications. What he says may seem true but it is not the original message. At its core, he attacks Infantino's sense of decision makings in terms of competition expansions as against Ceferin's and Uefa's desire to protect & maintain European football dominance. For example, Ceferin hates the idea of the Expanded Club World Cup and its huge financial package which he feels rivals the UCL's financial status. This and more is just part of their ongoing feud over who truly dominates the affairs of football financially. Am just concerned about the quality of the competition going forward and its feasibility. I know it’s now a world of inclusion but there must be a balance especially for countries to host if not just like Afcon many countries will start running away from hosting and we may be at the mercy of few powerful nations like the US cos how many countries can host a competition of 48 or 64 countries if it’s expanded again. This is the danger for me |

Meliforme: Maduka Okoye's long kicks can cover even greater distances.
You cannot compare throws of the ball with kicks of the ball. The mechanical power generated by the human leg is more immense compared to the human arm.

9JAMac10: Thirteen football federations, including those of Morocco and Senegal, on Sunday criticized comments by UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin suggesting that the expansion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to 48 teams had resulted in “uninteresting” matches, according to Ouest France. No be lie o, 48 teams is too much and countries like Senegal and Morocco who have always qualified before the expansion shouldn’t be complaining |

Oh dear! The effect of recent events as regards visa rules are far-reaching. Very true I even hear of redundancies in the nhs these days so it’s easy to see the frustration. Imagine getting redundant and you’re on a skilled worker visa as an nhs staff. |

Amedino99: Things in america has always been pricy. Fox reportedly paid FIFA $485 million for the broadcast rights. Thats Fox alone and the US market. Thats only for broadcasting ooo. There is still licensing fee, marketing fee and so on. It was even fifa that gave them the go ahead to include the ads not that the decision is arbitrary. You should be on the lookout for their reported earnings from this tournament. Not this bad where a bottle of water is over 5 dollars! It’s insane no matter what the earnings are at the end |
