Cape verde really doing well on the continent…it took PK shootout for SA to oust them in 2023 afcon.

Their surge started in 2013 when they qualified to the quarterfinals of the afcon… we even played a 0-0 friendly with them that year

I disagree they’ve been growing gradually in the game on the continent. The eagles couldn’t defeat them in a friendly years ago. Getting to the quarterfinals in Afcon is no fluke for a team like Cape Verde. It’s speaks to their growth

Am just concerned about the quality of the competition going forward and its feasibility. I know it’s now a world of inclusion but there must be a balance especially for countries to host if not just like Afcon many countries will start running away from hosting and we may be at the mercy of few powerful nations like the US cos how many countries can host a competition of 48 or 64 countries if it’s expanded again. This is the danger for me

Things in america has always been pricy. Fox reportedly paid FIFA $485 million for the broadcast rights. Thats Fox alone and the US market. Thats only for broadcasting ooo.
