This has nothing to do with lowering expectations

We should be winning Rwanda by 6 goals

Una don start again, you better manage your expectations to avoid high bp. Before we scored late in the first half yesterday some folks here already had their stomach in their mouths

I don't get you. Dude has already played his part
Let's start Nacho instead or oshimen and later on nacho can come on

Nacho is a veteran in the strike force. Can switch roles with Iwobi and lookman effortlessly

He can shot precisely and very clinical

Oshimen can start also

For Boni he needs to sit out and watch beautiful football

And when nacho disappoints you again we will continue to chop and change. I thought we are beginning to look forward instead of going back to the old guards

The irony of Eguavoen. When we enter hole, we call him to rescue us. When he enters hole, we sack him. 😂😂

Eguavoen too needs to go all out when it matters most and it will be difficult to sack him. The game is all about results especially the crucial ones, yesterday match was crucial and he won. The next game he should try not to lose at worst get a draw many will not raise eyebrows but if loses then the cycle starts all over again. It’s all about results, even if it’s haram soccer get the damn results and keep your job.

Iwobi has been impressive post Afcon he’s still relevant in our set up. He’s also been consistent at club level no national team coach can ignore such a player

But Ndidi plays that role effortlessly before now , i think age is beginning to tell .or the influence of championship telling on him ,,,

The good thing is that we already have a replacement, ndidi absence at Afcon was a blessing in disguise. Ndidi experience still relevant in our game

In this life what is key is potential. Eguaveon has shown us too many times that he has it in him but once he enters pot hole, we start shouting for him to be relieved of the job but whenever we are in a jam, it is him we call to rescue us.

Why don't we give this man time, give him training, give him all the technical support and resources he needs to enter into that place where even his failure will not make us sack him but allow him to go on until this flashes of brilliance becomes steady light?

You see this is why I'm not hard on Boniface. He showed flashes. He got into position. Let us give him time.

Am still wondering the sin boniface committed yesterday apart from not scoring I hope Eguavoen does not read some analysis here and drop him from the starting lineup for next game, na im sabi o.

My full respect to Frank the Tank. That guy is an untamed horse.

Why do I say this? See ehn, you guys saw Ndidi panting yesterday calling to be subbed but this was the role and burden Frank carried stoutly throughout AFCON without gassing out.

I hail Ndidi but shout out to Frank the armoured Tank.

He’s not called the tank for nothing, person wey paseiro wan sub for Afcon but insisted to continue to play, that guy na jet engine

Exactly
We were not positionally organized
Too many gaps and our build up plays were ponderous
As a mattee of fact, if not for Lookman's individual brilliance to score that first half goal, we were already planning right into Gernot Rohr's hands

But then again, it was the coach's first game with this group
I expect improvements in Kigali

I don't agree, if Boniface had converted some chances in the first half we would have been 2 or 3 goals up at the end of 45 mins, not scoring early enough in the first half was the only sin committed by the Eagles and Boniface in particular, did those chances just happened? no nah, For a team that scored 3 unreplied goals shows they did so many things right including positioning and build-up plays. Even at afcon the Eagles never played with such a level of organisation. Let's not be too critical, Rohr and his team had no answer to the Eagles even after 45 minutes, they were lucky to be down by just a goal in the first half. It would have been a complete whitewash if Osihmen had converted all his chances too.

I expect to see more improved play through the midfield. With improvement in our fluidity, we can create more chances and get the best from our forwards.

Finally, despite Lookman's brilliant skill and speed, he still has a lot of intelligence in his movement to contribute more tactically to our play. That is something I will like to see worked on in the next game.

It can only get better, we only hope there will be no injury crisis as that always affects things and we come back here to bash the team or the coach. Some players are key in this setup, including Boniface people are bashing today. Today's starting line-up was responsible for that fluidity you're talking about and I hope everyone will appreciate every player in that starting line-up today. That was the foundation of the entire script.

We are not out of the cold yet

I am not impressed with a win over Benin. We should be beating them easily

When we beat the likes of Ghana and SA, then we can talk

No be from clapping we go enter dancing? This team set up has a killer instinct. If Iwobi and Chuks miaintain their form and our attack continues at this rate even the bigger teams will fear

Haba Finidi! and he has been the assistant coach to Jose pedro. He didnt know that this guy was good.

And the player that play left back in the last two games was taminiu.

Is a shame. What did finidi learn from peserro, Nothing.

Absolutely nothing, an Afcon finalist assistant coach. Nonsense

I want to believe because of the short time Eguavoen decided to go with a system already familiar with the players, he’s not a 3 at the back coach

This is what I said about Finidi then not continuing from where we stopped at Afcon, Eguavoen just borrow sense and tweaked things a bit from the Afcon pattern of play

suddenly where did you keep Victor Moses ... no doubt he plays very well ... but let him grow into the super eagles team completely

If Lookman wins APOTY he will dwarf victor moses, the only thing that makes Vicmo better is he winning afcon which Lookman almost won earlier this year. Lookman touches on the ball is class, he has no business still playing for Atalanta but for bad belle things.

Lookman is the only CAF rep on the Balon d'or list.

Watch as CAF will soon play funny and pick one of those Moroccans or Senegalese. He's undisputed to me.

As for female category... The Oshoala era has come to an end and there's not even an exceptional cadet squad player that's showing any sort of promise to reach these heights.

If CAF no crown am na their wahala be that, we go crown am ourselves, their father!

According to the match stats, we completed 435 passes today.. I don't think we have reached that number in recent games.. at the AFCON in particular, I doubt we completed up to 300 passes in a game..

that being said, I don't think this 2 man midfield will benefit us in the long run, especially with Iwobi starting.... Iwobi is a fantastic player most of the time for the SE, but he isn't a workaholic, and partnering him with Ndidi or any other DM will lead to both gassing out quicker... Eguavon needs to reconsider..

I wasn’t surprised with those stats when you factor in what we played in the first half the eagles have not been that sharp in a long while with fast recovery runs and progression it was so lovely to the eyes, hope our tiki taka fans here were impressed.

For the midfield am not sure any eagles coach will want to sacrifice any of our upfront players to add to the midfield. Our strength is still upfront but perhaps as the game wind down then I think your suggestion should be considered

I was saying to charlesemeka85 that while it appears on paper that we have attackers, I necessarily don't think so because most of them apart from Osimhen and Lookman most of them are not reliable.

I just hope that Boniface settles in and gives us that much needed bite

Boniface will come good, he’s an important player in this set up. Pray Lookman doesn’t get injured what are your other options.
