Goke7, you can't speak with both sides of your mouth, which is what you're trying to do here...... 😁

You gave a positive example of the benefit of a life policy, that benefited someone you know.......

It might not be for you, but others see the benefits....

Hence, I understand what you're trying to say (but I don't agree)...... 😁😂
If you understand then why are you accusing me of being double standard na, I told you my stand yet you no wan gree, am I discouraging anyone here from what am saying?

I understand the uk system and it’s the one that benefits me is what I do how’s that your own problem 😂 na by force?

I think the answer to this is keeping your wife or kids as next of kin or direct beneficiary in the event of your passing.
Simple and it’s not only life insurance that offers this.

So you seem to agree with my position, either as a paid policy or company benefit.......😊
Agree? How many companies actually do it in the first place, on my own I rather spend my money on other insurance policies that will benefit me while alive e.g. income protection.

Justwise and Goke7, seems to think everyone would live till 120 years old, hence not requiring life assurance policies...... 😜
Depending on the kind of organisation one works for you can even get that life assurance policy for free sef as a company benefit so I don’t understand all these palava, someone I know recently who just passed his wife is going to get that payout you’re so fixated about from the company he worked for just less than 3 years. Your pension plan also allows you to nominate beneficiaries in case of any unexpected event and I also know those who have benefited from such so Oga Lexus allow people the benefit of exploring their options. No be only one way enter market.

But nothing is stopping you from enjoying the proceeds, from all your investments......

Imagine what a life insurance payout could do, to our loved one's whilst we are gone.....

Or would we rather them rely on Go fund me, for immediate financial needs.....
Is life insurance the only way my loved ones can benefit while am gone? What happens to all other investments where they can also benefit too and are nominated beneficiaries. Go fund me doesn’t even come in here. Folks can go ahead with the life insurance of their choosing but for me am more interested in insurance that can cover me should my job is gone, inability to work or health coverage and so on. My own insurance is for my living self as I do other investments my loved ones can also benefit from. It’s about choices.

My bad belle prayer is for all of them to come home after first round.

The story is told of three men who found themselves in hell. The devil told each of them to make one request and it will be granted. The first one promptly asked to be with his family.. The word was barely out of his mouth before he found himself cozying up in the warmth of his home.

The second one requested that he wants to be on a cruise ship in the pacific ocean. Fiam, he found himself on a cruise ship and began partying.

Well, it was now the turn of the third guy. Do you know what he asked for? He requested that the devil bring the two other guys who had left, back to hell.

His request was granted.

We Super Eagles fans are in the hell of disappointment now. My bad belle request is that all African teams must come back after first round. 😂😂
I agree 😂 but let Ivory Coast do well abeg just love that team don’t know why despite they prevented us from winning Afcon

It looks like afcon will be as tough as the Euros going forward. See quality in the powerhouses and they'll still get more from the foreign borns. No wonder Morocco wanted to use ojoro this year
This is why am Not happy seeing our best players missing out on these friendlies as the Afcon is becoming too tough and some African countries are almost at par with some European teams. All our players need to be mentally prepared well ahead and be ready for tougher competition

SuperNead, I love your analysis on this forum, but you're wrong here. In mathematics there is a subject called the probability of an event happening. That clip you showed is Pickford pulling off a world-class save. If the exact event were to happen 10 times in a row, the probability of Pickford saving that attempt 10 times in a row is probably less than 10 percent. If Pickford had conceded that goal, no reasonable person would have blamed him for it. That goal that Maduka Okeye conceded was savable, but it would have been an absolute world-class save, and this is why no one can objectively blame him for conceding a goal when the odd of him saving that goal is less than 10 percent.
Una Dey solve maths again on top this okoye matter? Na wa o 😂

In all honesty, 30k views is pretty tame/unimpressive for a country like Nigeria with our footballing pedigree, population and sporting culture. Although, I personally wouldn't attribute the low YouTube views to a lack of fan interest - that one has more to do with a fragmented official media presence, thanks or no thanks to NFF. That being said, I'd say that interest in Nigerian football has definitely taken a massive nosedive over the recent years, mostly because of our poor World Cup campaign. The last time I can say our national team had serious hype around it in recent memory was during our AFCON 2023 run where we eventually made the finals. But it won't stay down forever. I think we either need an AFCON title or another World Cup appearance, and things will be back to the way they were. Real Nigerian soccer fans don't stay angry at the NT forever.
Just one single YouTube channel haba a channel that’s not that popular sef

Nigerians are still interested in football in spite of all that’s happening let another tournament come up and you’ll see teeming fans everywhere. You guys are sometimes too negative allowing current events to assume our people no longer follow the team. Let the eagles or any national team male or female get to the final of any event and you’ll see the enormous following, is it not the same people celebrating Arsenal on the streets? We are crazy football fans and followers known worldwide.

Let's be fair to the members of this thread. I do not agree that absolving Maduka of blame for that goal is hypocritical. I've been one of his staunchest critic but reality is that that goal will beat any keeper any day. If Uzoho had let in that goal, I think the sentiment of this thread will remain the same as is currently being expressed towards Okoye.

And in relation to Nwabali - he was criticized, not for his goalkeeping but for his unnecessary antics.
Haba delaw, but for Chelle defending Nwabali many wanted him to be dropped make we no change am o.

If Nwabali can be called out I don’t see why okoye too can’t be called out, the excuses here are flimsy even blaming other players for him. Some folks here too also supported okoye boycotting the Afcon and were giving reasons to justify it. Osihmen boycotted this friendly and am one of those seriously frowning at it despite being a huge fan it cos it is a wasted opportunity. I know it’s hard to be consistent but let’s be fair at all times. If the game had ended 2-1 I bet you it’s Nwabali that will be roasted now. I love to defend my preferred players too but boundaries Dey and should be respected. Okoye should improve and I will continue to say it am not even blaming him cos I respected him showing up for the nation as should be. Let’s divert all this name calling to the players who didn’t show up for this game; osihmen, Lookman and others

I really wish Okoye has that stubborn mentality of Nwabali…this Okoye im seeing na Victor Moses younger brother…with some matchday unluckiness posing at him, that guy fit retire from super eagles at age 27🤣🤣….
Omo Nwabali no send anybody papa ohhh…you people will blame and bash him tire, wen its matchday it wont stop him from making a calm save and sleeping on the ball for 2hours before releasing it back into play ooo….even the Lesotho howler we use bashing finish that guy here in nairaland….The only thing Nwabali does is he always have a way to win back the heart of millions through his penalty heroics…He has a strong mentality….

i read one moniker here saying “If im Okoye i will just retire from super eagles”🤣🤣hahahaha

i read another person replying him saying “If okoye retire nobody go notice am or even feel am”…

you dey wine Nigerian football tray? players and goalkeepers full the tray oo
That’s why Chelle will always stand by Nwabali no matter what people say he knows what the keeper brings to the table and his no nonsense attitude. It’s left to Okoye to prove to Chelle he can be depended upon anytime. It’s in his hands no matter the hype or criticisms

Very Bias Nairaland thread
Okoye die hard fans= dont blame Okoye for that goal bla bla bla
Uzoho concedes same screamer and they will go blind of how the shot changed in its trajectory and wont even give Uzoho chance to explain him self🤣🤣
If that same long range shot beat Nwabali, just come and see how clamour for Okoye will arise almost immediately 🤣🤣.

I no dey take many die fans serious here again, there most loving player can never do wrong…they dont like to be challenged…..just challenge them and their die hard players and watch them call you hater(agenda must agend🤣)

Person play shot from almost midfield centre line traveling from Oshodi through Lekki and landing inside your net you dey tell me nonsense (trying to now blame Onuachu for giving the player time and space)….na em b say i fit wire hot shot from midfield during training make e beat Okoye b that(Okoye is an amazing keeper but man still has alot to learn abeg
grin I just dey imagine if na Uzoho concede last night, nothing wey we no go hear from all these okoye fans, abeg hypocrites too full for this place.

Why am I not blaming Okoye? It's because he showed up, unlike in Afcon, where he gave excuses. He should be encouraged, but please, all these he's the best because he plays in Serie A should be thrown into the trash can. I know how, during World Cup qualifiers and Afcon, Nwabali was getting bashed left, right and centre even from journalists, thank God Chelle na man, another coach for don drop the keeper. Okoye should use this opportunity to establish himself as the number one for as long as Nwabali is away, and pray he continues to get lucky; if not, he should ask his senior brother Uzoho how far.

Enough of these okoye drama the match just revealed again why we flounder when it matters most. It’s something that we need to fix and that is why matches like this are good. I knew Poland was always going to be a real test for the eagles and Portugal will bring a greater test.

Thanks again to the nff for organising these matches and shame again to the players who refused to show up, they are the ones we should be dragging not okoye. It could have been any other player that dropped the ball, today is okoye and could be another in the next game. Let’s fix the team issue as it’s things like this that cost not qualifying for the World Cup or winning the Afcon.

I would have liked us to really see out that win.

We still have a habit of conceding some late goals. Our midfield still needs work. Ideally you have ball playing midfielders that can possess and take the sting out of the game.

Chelle dey show work sha. If I remember correctly, he’s still undefeated in regulation time (correct me if I’m wrong).
Only lost a friendly against Egypt just before the Afcon the same Egypt he won at the 3rd place match in Afcon
