You don't get what he is trying to say.
You implore such antics if you are leading or drawing against a tough opponent towards the closing stage of the match and not against a weaker opponent you are already dominating from the early stage of the match as it was witnessed in the last game. We have a higher chance of winning the game, so why waste time and disrupt the energy and intensity of the game?

weaker opponent? you guys didn't watch how the Rwandans were looking for a late goal? Moreover, whenever your opponent has the ball, are they moving back toward their area or your end, I no understand una o. Have you seen the stats, the % possession was never far apart.

We only dominated in terms of shots on goal but never in possession of the ball

You’re the one that thinks Obama is an angel. Obama was even pro American than trump. He was the one who actually started pulling American economic interventions out of Africa that made Chinese influence in Africa grow to what it is today. The difference is that Obama does his things silently and you won’t hear noise. It’s actually on record that Obama deported more undocumented migrants than Trump but not many knew as there was no impression of bigotry made like Trump do. It was even in Obama time that Nigerians were finally excluded from the American green lottery program all in the excuse of Nigerians exceeding the quota so rest America has always had their policy. Trump only promotes division and bigotry

No talk oo. It's his attitude. Read the report. He's been penalized at his club for it. That's different from when a goalkeeper kills time to manage a win for his team. Every sensible goalkeeper does that yet one cannot say that delaying is an attribute of all goalkeepers.

Anyway the coach has said that it will not repeat itself.

I watched Ruud Gulit one of the greatest midfielders saying the antics they display as players when they are under much pressure. It’s part of the game though irritating. The North Africans are masters of this nonsense all players on the pitch start rolling on the floor when hand or leg touch them. The Ivorians used same tactic for us during afcon final. So i'm guessing that Trump supplied those arms to Nigeria during his time in office? Trump appointed Richard Grenell to Cabinet, the first openly gay person to hold a Cabinet-level position, Trump banned Muslims from traveling to America during his time in office but Nigerians did not see that as an attack on religion.

Yeah he actually did supplied the arms of course he had to after all those support with visa denials for Nigerians like shege 😜. He even classed Nigeria among those countries with majority Muslims for the visa ban.

During the COVID I was watching one well known man of God from Nigeria going on about how God sent Trump to change things but that the FBI and some powerful people are fighting him. He believes that the church should pray so that Trump wins second term in office. I was shocked because I respected his teachings and his knowledge of the bible. Thankfully Trump lost as angels from Africa did not intervene

Actually in Nigeria it was because Obama refused to supply arms to Nigeria to fight boko haram due to human rights violations according to Obama that drove many Christians to trump they saw Obama and the democrats as anti Christianity for that singular act in addition to all the LGBT ish.

Hehe... it's largely down to lgbtq and abortion issues. Don't be surprised if Reform proposes to strip all non-white folks of their British citizenship and at the same time proposes an anti-abortion/lgbtq stand some of our people would consider supporting him based on the later.

When you losten to those mentioned folks, you see most of their anti-illegal immigration stuff is a smoke screen. Their main concern is the changing demography and increasing attainment of minorities. They then go on to paint previous decades before this change as some utopia to rally their fan base so they can 'make America/UK/AUS/Can great again. Yes, I don't support uncontrolled undocumented immigration but as we've seen with the recent UK election campaign and riots, to many of these nut heads, any non-white person = illegal immigrant.

you sabi their agenda wella, they always hide behind Christian values and norms to deceive many

What Mikel said about Eguavoen

I know the interim manager now, Augustine Eguavoen who managed me when I was a kid. U17, he was my coach, took us to the World Cup.

"Fantastic guy, lovely guy, a manager who gives you all the freedom in the world to express yourself, speaks to you really well.

"He reminds me so much of Carlo Ancelotti, no jokes about that, his man management is top. He speaks to players really well. He is so humble. He communicates with players really well, puts his arm around you.

"He gets his players on his side, that's so important. You could see coming in short notice and getting the team to play so well. You can't teach them so much is such a short space of time.

"It's about the communication, it's about the man management of making the players so relaxed so they can perform and that's what I saw when I watched the game because the team performed really well, the first game, and also the second game. Of course we didn't win it but there was so much positivity.

"The team played really well yesterday and I thought we could have won the game."

I am even disappointed in Kamala for not putting Trump in his place on those issues you mentioned.
First, Trump failed to solve the border issues as president. Remember " I will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it" he said in 2016. So he campaigned on the border, but didn't solve the issues as president.
Go and check the data for US illegal border crossings from 2000 till date, you will see that millions of " rapists and criminals " in his own words crossed the border under his watch. In fact, in 2019 alone, about a million people crossed that border. Yes, more people have crossed under Biden but then Biden has also deported more people than Trump. So where was the outrage from Trump when millions crossed under his watch? Immediately he was out of power, all of a sudden the border became an existential issue again. If he didn't solve it as commander in chief, what moral authority does he have to blame Kamala who is just a mere VP?

On Economy, that is simple, he left the economy worse than he met it and that is a fact. Obama did a good job in reviving an economy battered by the worst financial crisis in 2008, handed it over to Trump and he left it worse than he met it. Ok that's because of the pandemic abi? If he can be excused cos of the pandemic, why shouldn't Biden who inherited the pandemic riddled economy not be excused also? Did Trump hand over a booming economy like he inherited from Obama to Biden, and Kamala crashed it? Trump is running like he wasn't in power 4 years ago.

I struggle to understand why some of us immigrants support a con man like Trump. Have you guys listened to his MAGA base like Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson and other of his surrogates and see the kind of venom that comes out of their mouth? MAGA is not about policy, it is about " white grievances " and you guys are being used without knowing.

Trump had the opportunity to pick Tim Scott or Vivek as VP but his racist mindset can't accept the idea a non white man being next in line to the presidency. He has not recovered from the fact that Obama was allowed to be president or the fact that a black woman is tryingto be president. Those 2 people debased themselves supporting Trump more than anyone yet he forgave someone who called him unprintable names just years ago to be his VP. How is JD Vance better than those 2 people? Non white men don't qualify for those positions, they are product of DEI.

Make no mistake, I don't like liberals. My preference for leadership are moderate conservatives who don't subscribe to hate of other people and apply common sense in governance something liberals lack. But I will take any liberal over Trump any day. He will still likely win as there is a silent " white grievance" powering his campaign. He has used it before and it worked for him, it can still work this time especially since there are many naive people out there who think MAGA is just about policy.

You get it, it has never and was never about policy but ethnicity

Jose Peseiro did something good for us.

He made us realize that a 5-man defence (3 centre backs and 2 wing backs) and 3-5-2 / 3-4-3 is the best formations suited to our players and the team.

This formation puts more bodies in defense giving the team defensive solidity. Also, it gives us width on the flanks with the wingbacks allowing them to bomb forward and tuck into the midfield when necessary.

I doubt Eguavoen would have played this formation if not for the last AFCON where Peseiro deployed it so effectively cos in his previous stints as coach of the Super Eagles, he never played that way. In addition, his "tactical analysis" before AFCON 2022 and the Nigeria-Ghana WCQ match formations showed he was stuck on 4-4-2/4-3-3

This time around, Eguavoen has shown adaptability and a fast learning curve with his tactical decisions. I also like that he's eloquent, and instills confidence and belief in the team. In addition, his player invitations are fair and unlike his predecessor, he doesn't do the silly home-based quota thing.

My only gripe with AE is his susceptibility to influence fron football journalists and analysts, and sometimes poor in-match management but so far, so good.

With the benefit of hindsight, appointing Finidi George was an error. ...one that may ultimately cost us the World cup ticket. I still cannot fathom why he ditched the system that got the team to the AFCON final. undecided

Perhaps, if Eguavoen had been appointed to tinker the team after the AFCON, we wouldn't be in this precarious situation in the WCQ.

I believe Eguavoen should be allowed to take charge of the AFCON and WC qualifiers, and if he does well, he should be appointed as the substantive coach with a long time contract.
💯 Very apt that’s why I can never agree with those who accused the team of haram football during Afcon. That system is what has brought out the best out of Lookman who has turned suddenly world class in just months.

Too bad for Finidi who was the assistant coach in Afcon but looking for apology all over the place now. He’s the architect of his misfortune and misadventure.

Seems poor maintenance culture is wide across Africa. Even the well touted Rwanda can't maintain a stadium they refurbished and open in freaking JULY.

grin any team in Africa that wants to beat the Eagles must always play them on a bad pitch, they know your Europe-based players are at their best on great pitches, watch out when we go SA, they go carry us go another yeye stadium or pitch. I remember an SA analyst in one of our past matches with them advised their FA to take the Eagles to a bumpy pitch to destabilise the European-based Eagles as they are more used to better pitches. He mentioned it on a live TV program so these things are very intentional

That is why I am talking about the shape of the team. We need more midfield adherence from the coaching crew.

With Onyedika, Iwobi and Dele Bashiru, we can comfortably knock the ball to create clear chances for the forwards. With Bruno and Aina, you have two players that can move with and without the ball soundly. Semi and Ekong are good ball players. Ndah and Bassey are sound too. We have no excuse not to play in a more controlled manner.

I expect Eguavoen to work on this going forward. He really had time to prepare for the game. I can cut him some slack due to that.

the 3 midfielders you mentioned can't play together at the same time for now and you know it. You're so fixated on Onyedika and I understand but we need an Ndidi or an Onyeka holding the forte it's either a bashiru or an Iwobi. Am more sold on Iwobi though
