Politics / Re: We Paid N250,000 Each For Government Jobs – Victims by Goldcon: 9:46am On Apr 24, 2013
Only crooks and rogues who have ulterior motives to misappropriate public funds would be willing to pay N250, 000 for government jobs when that same lump sum is enough to start a lucrative business or cottage industry that will not only pay you, but also pay the salaries of those you will employ.

I don't know why people like this government work so much that an unemployed graduated can give 250k to secure it, an amount good enough to start a decent business and be on your own.

The scammers and the victims are all guilty of corruption, they should be charged.

All said: Before you are "419ed" you too must be 415 or 4 1 something...
Politics / Re: Sandra Ekperuoh's Mechanic Workship Sealed In Victoria Island by Goldcon: 10:19am On Apr 23, 2013
Did she pay for any land? Regularize your shittt and nobody will harass you. This is just some sentimental bullshittt as far as i'm concerned cos if na Eweleomo-Tokyo dey use free land do NURTW mechanic workshop or whatever, niggaz (including me) would raise hell!! Because you've been on a land for 10yrs FREE don't make it yours!

Women want gender equality? THEN TAKE IT... ITS YOURS! Get ready to be held to the standards of your male counterparts. No more using your sexuality as a handy and convenient tool of emotional blackmail!

It is obviously a waste management issue and land ownership issue. She should regularize her operations. Because she is a lady and empowering ladies(alone for dat matter)does not earn her any exception.

I sometimes don't understand this issue of women equality with men. Women wants to be seen and taken as equal with men but wants to be treated like babies. They want to play in the field of men but wants a different rule. A woman is a woman; a man is a man, both with distinct and wonderful uniqueness. The misunderstanding of this fact is the root of most challenges we see in most families and in the social behavior of the people especially the youths.

Politics / Re: Nigerian Air-Force Launches Commercial Airline by Goldcon: 9:50am On Apr 12, 2013
Some folks sees nothing good done in their country.
One of our major challenges as a people. If you don't see anything good in a "project" you will hardly put in serious efforts to make that project work. You can only make better what is already good. If Nigeria is COMPLETELY bad, then what's the essence of trying to make it better. Anything completely bad is to be discarded.

Lets all be objective in our criticisms and commend good efforts like this one, whenever we see it. We are not all politicians.

Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Can No Longer Guarantee Peace In The East – by Goldcon: 11:17pm On Mar 21, 2013
I understand where ohaneze is coming from. it really must be hard trying to maintain the youths from retaliating especially seeing you are doing it through advice and have no army to stop it if your advice is not listened to. Shame, eventually people would stop listening and I wonder how they going to contain it. Anyway, I'm all for getting back but I'm also all for waiting till you make sure if you do get back, noone can point blame at you.
This same senseless killing was what lead to the civil war. I wonder why our leaders wont learn from history. I 'm sure the current leaders would have said that if they were in charge back then that they could have handled the situation better and prevented the war. For many years on, thousands of Igbos are being roosted and burned up north. Prevention is better than cure.
Let me say it loud here as I have always said anywhere else. I dont have any relation living up north, not even in Abuja. I have not lost any close person/relation or someone I can personally identify to boko haram. IF I LOSE ANY CLOSE RELATION TO BOKO HARAM, I WILL NOT WAIT FOR OHANEZE OR FOR GEJ TO SETUP COMMITTEE BEFORE I RETALIATE here in the NIger Delta.
Politics / Re: Controversial APC's Lawyer Regrets Action: PDP Ugochinyere Ikenga Hired Me by Goldcon: 11:53am On Mar 16, 2013
My guy the best thing for that boy is to issue a media statement and deny the whole report, find a good SAN and attach himself to and learn. Also demand adequate protection from his sponsors. He thought PDP used him, its now that he is being used. After this media report on him his career has gone to the bins!

That is why I said that the young lawyer has misused his career opportunity.
Politics / Re: Controversial APC's Lawyer Regrets Action: PDP Ugochinyere Ikenga Hired Me by Goldcon: 9:47pm On Mar 15, 2013
sorry no name was stolen, i wonder why we nigerians deviate from the facts on ground , The case is simple and clear INEC will not and can not recognise a political party until it is duly registered ,The buhari/tinubu led APC is not legally registered as a political party and as such can not lay claims to ownership of the name APC.....abi bros did you expect INEC to register the party on behalf of the BUHARI/TINUBU led APC ? even if the controversial Registerd APC was PDP masterminded is that the problem of INEC ? BUHARI/TINUBU shud wake up from this paid story publish here and face reality they were simply outsmart !!!!

Whether is was PDP or not does not matter in any way. The action was right and legal. This is politics. it is about calculating and strategizing. To me this is the greatest opportunity this young lawyer had to be very popular and make it big in his career. Check what Festus Keyamo dd with the Frayo/Bola Ige case. It shot him (Keyamo) to limelight in the legal world.

Even myself that is not a lawyer knows that what this young lawyer did was completely LEGAL. I wonder why he is fidgeting about it rather than taking advantage of it to ride to glory in his career.

Congress of Progressive (CP)
Politics / Re: Please, Suggest A New Name For APC by Goldcon: 3:41pm On Mar 15, 2013
Despite our spirited effort at suggesting new names for the former APC, they insist on using the same name. Well, the whole thing is now complicated with a third party laying claim to the name/acronym. To me a name change is the only legal and logical thing for them to do and the earlier the better.

Talk of Egypt style protest or even law suit; they are on their own.

Another name: Progressive National Party.
Politics / Re: Please, Suggest A New Name For APC by Goldcon: 9:49am On Mar 12, 2013
Concerning the new name, it is a political strategy for a party to choose a name with acronym to be on top alphabetically due to some average illiterates to easily identify the logo during election. So i suggest: ALL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC)
That is a good point for them to consider in picking a new name.

Advance Congress of Progressives (ACP)
Politics / Please, Suggest A New Name For APC by Goldcon: 10:45pm On Mar 11, 2013
It was an obvious case of misplaced priority. They were shouting from the hill top about forming a new party yet they ddnt take any actions officially to make it work. ("If you want to shoot; shoot, don't talk" from: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly). This is politics and I am sure they have learnt their lesson. The most viable option now is for them to choose another name (secretly) and hurriedly go and tell INEC about it.

Please, let us help (the formal) APC choose another name.

1. Progressive Alliance of Nigeria
2. All Progressive Party of Nigeria
3. Please, add ur own...

Lojik, Afrisoft, Estoresms and whatever other name they operate with, are really looking for trouble with me and I must say that i am already warming up for it. My patience is seriously running out. It is like they have turned a break into a holiday.

I have been communicating with Seyi, Adebisi, Shade and two other persons there but I HAVE NOT HEARD ANY POSITIVE AND ENCOURAGING RESPONSE ON MY ISSUE. I dont want to mention the issue publicly yet because I are still considering the person of Ojikutu and have been very patient and understanding.

I have reached them again this morning and informed them that after next Friday (22 feb), i will take this issue a notch higher.

Shout-out to y'all shouting and advocating for break-up, I hope you guys have weighed the pros and cons that will be felt in the post break-up or the aftermath of the break-up. Recently, I've heard about how one or two countries that parted ways with the former, trust me when I say that they aren't faring well... We need to re-evaluate things of this kind before we key into it. Remember, the great giant of Africa will fall, the labour of our heroes past will be in vain, the vision 202020, the MDGs etc will be in vain, we will have to start from the scratches once again, which I know is not easy... My two cents.

Our size is not the issue. Check: what is the population and size of Great Britain, how big is Japan, what is the population of Mother Russia, Germany, Canada, even South africa etc.
The fact is that Nigeria is an amalgamation of very strange bed fellows. We are like different bands of travellers coming from different backgrounds and going to different destination but one man just met them at a juntion and joined them to form one band. Consider that...

Sports / Re: The Price For Live Transmission Of AFCON Was High - Maku by Goldcon: 12:00am On Jan 23, 2013

THIS IS A SHAME. IT IS ERRANT NON-SENSE, INSULTING OUR COLLECTIVE PSYCHE. THE ONLY CREDIBLE REASON WOULD BE BECAUSE THE OTHER PARTY REFUSED TO PLAY BALL AS EXPECTED AND BECAUSE OF THAT SELFISH REASONS, MR. MINISTER AND HIS COLLABORATORS IN BON DECIDED TO PUNISH THE ENTIRE NATION. THIS MATTER SHOULD BE PROBED THOROUGHLY. HOW DO YOU DEFEND THE FACT THAT ATTEMPT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ASSIST WAS REBUFFED BY BON. TELL ME, WHEN DID WE BECOME SO PATRIOTIC AND SHREWD IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS?

THE MINISTER SOUNDED SO IGNORANT IN HIS ARGUMENTS. HE SAID THE RATES WERE NOT ARRIVED AT SCIENTIFICALLY BECAUSE NIGERIA WAS CHARGED HIGHER THAN OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES AND ALSO BECAUSE THE RIGHT OWNER SHIFTED GROUND FROM INITIAL QUOTATION TO A LOWER ONE. HABA,THINK THE MINISTER SHOULD KNOW BETTER, VIEWING RIGHTS ARE NEGOTIATED BASED ON PERCEIVED NUMBER OF VIEWERS. IN ADVANCED NATIONS, YOU COULD TELL PRECISELY THE NUMBER OF VIEWERS OF A PROGRAMME IN A PARTICULAR LOCATION MOREOVER, IN A BIDDING OR NEGOTIATING PROCESS, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN ANY OF THE PARTIES SHIFTING GROUND OR CONCEDING.

HE ALSO ARGUED THAT ORANGE SPONSORSHIP OF THE TOURNEY WILL NOT MAKE IT ATTRACTIVE TO NIGERIAN ADVERTISERS. THIS IS SO PLAUSIBLE AND CAN NEVER BE AN EXCUSE. AND IF TRUE, THEN GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE IT PUBLIC SERVICE, PICK THE BILLS AND THEN ENSURE THAT SUCH NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN BY BEING MORE ACTIVE IN THE AFFAIRS OF CAF. BON ERRONEOUSLY BELIEVES THAT BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT, CAF WILL DEVELOP SLEEPLESS NIGHT AND WE ALL KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE.

THE MINISTER AND BON CONNIVED TO EMBARRASS NIGERIA BECAUSE OF THEIR SELFISH INTEREST, PURE AND SIMPLE!

My Dear, You are shouting on top of your voice in your response but unfortunately you dont know that you are just displaying your acute ignorantce. It is very obvious here that you dont have any idea about what is really happening. You are calling the minister ignorant while you are the real ignoramus.

"From eight million euros, they came to six million then 4.5 million Euro; so you can see that it is not a scientific charge, it is a kind of casino pricing". what criteria dd LC2 used to arrive at the initial 8m, what options dd they consider that made them come down to 6m then 4.5m Euros. Can you tell the difference in the three prices. It is obvious that the pricing was unreasonable and based on "casino pricing"

ANSWER: How much is 4.5m Euros in Naira. What is the total cost of the rights that LC2 got from CAF, that they want to get 4.5m from only Nigeria. How much dd LC2 sell to Ghana, South Africa etc. and what consideration dd they use to charge them.

Our learders are bad we know but lets all know and say the right thing when we see it. That your mother is old and ugly doesnt make her a witch.

Most of what people have replied to this thread is nothing but bullocks&lack business intelligence
Lets the figures below speak

2012 AFCON TV rights
$2.2 million for ALL CAF competitions=€1.65 million=346 million naira

2013 AFCON TV rights
$11mill=€8.25 mill=1.73 billion Naira just for SA 2013

Reduced to $6.4 mill=€4.8 mill=1.005 billion naira

Question 1:What led to a 291% increase for ONLY one CAF competition in one year?
Question 2:True,Nigeria has the 'biggest' market in Africa yet what is their purchasing power compared to a SA? Since Orange(telecomms),Stanbic(banks)&Samsung(electronics) are CAF sponsors, the ONLY VIABLE remaining sponsors are beverage, alcoholic drinks&FMCG companies?
Pray, how will BON & affliate private stations make a profit seeing MOST Nigerians are interested only Nigeria's matches?
Or LC2 is looking to the FGN to pay for BON?
K
eep dreaming.
Is it because exhorbitant TV rights why Nigerians were regaled with mostly highlights during the Olympics?
Let LC2 go phuck them themselves without vaseline

DONT MIND THEM. It is ignorant, unreasonable and childish reactions to issues like this that makes you know that people especially Nigeria just criticise government just because it is government. LC2 just assumed that becuase of corruption in Nigeria, anything goes. They forgot that it is not government that is in charge of viewing rights for such events. ANY REASONABLE PERSON/NIGERIAN knows that BON, Government and all other stakeholders are very right on this one. To hell with LC2 and their corruption.

Politics / Re: What Has GEJ Done For The South-South (Niger Delta) Region in Particular. by Goldcon: 9:07pm On Jan 17, 2013
He is the president of Nigeria not the Niger-Delta, you expect special favors while complaining when politicians take care of their own. GEJ is a good president and that is why he has not gone that direction, if there was anything dire in the Niger-Delta that could not be taken care of by the PIB he would do it but there seems to be nothing.
He is the president of Nigeria, very true and he is doing well nationally e.g. in agric, power etc but if major critical issues/projects that will more directly affect the people of the Niger Delta region are not done in his tenure, when will they be done.

Projects like reviving the refineries, the east/west road, the sea ports etc are still national projects but will directly affect that region. The transformation in the agric and power sectors are national projects but not particularly beneficial to the reion.
Politics / What Has GEJ Done For The South-South (Niger Delta) Region in Particular. by Goldcon: 3:24pm On Jan 17, 2013
I am from Delta state and a supporter of GEJ, not because he is from the south-south. I can say that he is doing well but really slow. Volumes have been written about his many achievements especially this well packaged and publicized report. http://sureandsteadytransformation.gov.ng/download/Sure_and_Steady_Transformation_Volume_One.pdf
My question is; what has GEJ done that the people of the Niger Delta will hold on to after he is long gone from office. If you go through the report at the link above, there are great achievements but which one is particularly beneficial to the people of the Niger Delta.
1. The East/West Road project is already a ghost that will continue to hunt this administration. Much is already being said about that road, no need for me to waste time on that.
2. The dredging of the River Niger is beneficial to the north.
3. GEJ is building a new sea port in Kogi State (Northern Nigeria). How many of you know the state of Calabar port, Onne port, Koko/Warri port etc.
4. Billions of Naira is being spent on Amajiris in the north. Thank God for what people like Amaechi, Akpabio are doing in the education sector in their various states.
5. GEJ is transforming the agric sector; we all know that agriculture is basically for the north and may be the S/W but not for the Niger Delta.
6. The only road construction projects in the South South are those of the various state governments. In Akwa Ibom/Cross River state, the Itu-Calabar has been in its current bad state. That is the worst road in Akwa Ibom state.
NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta and other FG agencies are engaging on petty projects like road construction (that will last for just a few years), borehole drilling, installation of transformers etc. these are petty reoccur rant projects.
In my conclusion, as it is now, at the end of the day, the people of the Niger Delta will only have many individual billionaires that have immerse their wealth through their connection to the presidency but THE NIGER DELTA AS A PEOPLE AND A REGION WILL HARDLY HAVE ANYTHING TO HOLD-ON TO AFTER GEJ IS GONE. May God help us.
You can comment otherwise.
