BamBam who got engaged last sunday to fellow reality star Teddy A, says she never knew they will last this long or ever get into the stage they are. Accoridng to her it was all a game until it became a reality. Speaking to saturday beats, she said;

“It (engagement) is real. Just like every other thing, you would see it happen. I can’t start giving (wedding) dates”.

BamBam also advised intending couples to be best friends with their partners so they can know each other’s limits and boundaries.

She stated, “If you cannot make a best friend out of your intending partner, where you know their limits and their boundaries, then you are messed up really. I am blessed that Teddy is mature, not careless, and as public figures, we know how to manage situations that seem beyond our control.”

Describing her union with Teddy in the Big Brother house as fate, she said, “Fate happened to us. I can’t say it was pre-planned. He had a serious relationship that was one-year-old before I met him. President Buhari on Friday, August 9th, departed Abuja for his hometown, Daura, Katsina State to observe the Eid-el-Kabir.

The Federal Government had on Tuesday declared August 12 and 13 as public holiday to mark the 2019 Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

President Buhari and members of his family annually observe the Eid-El-Kabir break in Daura, Katsina state. The president, alongside members of his entourage, departed the Presidential Villa for Katsina via the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, after observing the Friday prayer at the State House Mosque.

While in Daura, the president is expected to perform the usual religious obligation of slaughtering rams immediately after the Eid-El-Kabir prayer session on Sunday. Buhari is expected back in Abuja after the Sallah break as he planned to preside over two-day induction retreat for Ministers-designate from August 19th.

A Twitter user with the handle @boluxxx has narrated how she hid an engagement ring her boyfriend of 3 months bought, to stop him from proposing to her. She said that the incident occurred 5 years ago and she broke up with her then boyfriend one week after she hid the ring.

She however admitted having commitment issues at that time, but added that she is better person now after going through therapy for it.

An Ejigbo Magistrate Court has sentenced one Emmanuel Ikrangubek to two years imprisonment with hard labour for kidnapping a two-year-old boy, Yusuf Badru, at his parents’ residence at 141 LASU isheri road, Igando, Lagos.

The Prosecutor, ASP Kenneth Asibor, narrated that the baby was playing in the compound on Friday, August 2, 2019, at about 2:0’clock while the suspect walked in and carried the baby, thinking nobody saw him.

“Unfortunately for him, the baby’s elder brother who was also playing within the premises noticed him and alerted the security guard who was in the toilet.

“The two of them challenged the suspected kidnapper, took the boy from him and apprehended him.

“He was later handed to the police who, after investigation, charged him to court.”

Meanwhile, having agreed to be guilty of the one count charge, Ikrangubek was on Thursday sentenced to 24 months imprisonment with hard labour by the presiding Magistrate, Mr. Teslim Shomade.

At a time the Kogi State House of Assembly began moves to impeach the Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi State chapter, has suspended Achuba from the party for anti-party activities before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

The party also based the suspension on some alleged actions the Deputy Governor took that constitute embarrassment to the APC family in Kogi state.

DAILY POST recalls that the Kogi State House of Assembly had on Wednesday commenced the impeachment process of the state Deputy Governor Elder Simon Achuba over his action and utterances at the Channels Television and AIT.

APC State Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, who announced his suspension at a press conference in Lokoja on Thursday, said the party has received several petitions from stakeholders in Iyano ward of Ibaji local government area where the Deputy Governor hailed from, alleging that Achuba discretely and openly worked for candidates of the opposition parties during the presidential, national and state assembly elections in the state.

Bello added that the activities of Achuba during the last elections were against the candidates of the APC. He added that the report of the disciplinary committees constituted by the Iyano ward and Ibaji local government APC to probe the crises in the area allegedly indicted the Deputy Governor and also recommended his suspension to be followed by expulsion if he did not show any remorse.

Bello, who stated that the State Working Committee of APC have deliberated on the recommendations of the disciplinary committee of APC Iyano ward and Ibaji local government branch of the party, said the state chapter of APC has resolved and upheld Elder Simon Achuba’s suspension till he responds to the letter that the party would serve him.

“As we are all aware , the All Progressives Congress does not condone acts of indiscipline , indiscretion and anti-party activities from any party member, no matter how highly placed.

“His series of reckless, damaging and unsubstantiated allegations against government of Kogi state was an action that constitute a serious violation of Article 21A(ii), (v) and (vii) of the APC constitution, amount, amounting to acts of disloyalty and embarrassment to the party,” Bello stressed.

The party chairman added that the decision of the State Working Committee will be communicated to the APC National Working Committee in due course.

An Abuja Federal High Court will, on Thursday, rule in the application filed by the Department of State Services (DSS), seeking an order to detain Mr Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC)’s presidential candidate in the 2019 elections, for 90 days pending the conclusion of its investigation.

In an exparte order with number: FHC/ABJ/CS/915/19, Counsel to the DSS, G. O. Agbadua, told Justice Taiwo Taiwo that a video clip evidence was also attached to the application, NAN reports.

He urged the judge to grant the application seeking to detain the publisher of Sahara Reports beyond 48 hours as required by the law.

DSS had arrested Sowore over the weekend after he called for a nationwide staging of protests against what he described as a bad governance.

His arrest has since stirred reactions from well-meaning Nigerians.

The protest he tagged “Revolution Now” was planned to take place on Monday, August 5, before Sowore was arrested. The protest, however went on in some parts of the country.

Justice Taiwo, who adjourned the matter until Aug. 8, said the development was to enable him watch the video clip before delivering his ruling.

One of the witnesses called by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, Iboro Joseph Udim, has told the court that the All Progressives Congress, APC is parading fake witnesses.

The witnesses, who stood before the tribunal at the resumed hearing, included the collation agent of the PDP in Ibesikpo Asutan local government, Ubong Jonah; Unit agent of unit 7, Ward 7 in Ukanafun, Ime Umana; Unit Agent for unit 001, Odoro Ikot in Essien Udim, Iboro Joseph Ikanna, who was also the ward collation agent for Odoro Ikot Ward 1.

In his oral evidence, Ime Umanah from Ikot Obio Ekpe in Ukanafun said the election was peaceful in the units and his ward, describing as false, an earlier testimony of widespread violence deposed to by an APC witness, Abasiono Udomfu.

He told the tribunal that the said Udomfu was an impostor who never played the role of a party agent on the day of election.

Umanah said, “The APC agent in my unit was Mfonma Umana, who happens to be my nephew, he wore the APC tag, and also signed the result sheet of that elections.”

Another witness, M. C Akpan, who said he registered in Ikot Udotang, Ward 3, Unit 003, also faulted one David Edet David who had earlier told the tribunal that he was the APC Ward 3 agent in Nsit Atai.

Akpan said, “He is from my ward but unit 001, I saw him at the ward centre but I am not aware that he was representing the APC as collation agent.”

He also faulted claims by the said Edet David that PDP masterminded the snatching and hijacking of election materials, and insisted that there were election and collation.

The new twist saw no nominations for eviction as usual, rather the housemates were divided into two different teams named ‘The Icons’ and ‘Cruisetopia’ to compete in Big Brother Naija challenges.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, host of BBNaija made the announced on Monday night.

The housemates were divided into teams after they were made to pick one armband from each drum which contained both red and green armbands.

Upon picking one, they were to wear it and proceed promptly to the box with the matching colour of the armband.

This new twist means all the housemates will henceforth play all the Big Brother Naija games in their selected Teams.

Cindy, Elozonam, Enkay, Frodd, Ike, Khafi, Omashola, Sir Dee and Tacha are ‘The Icons’, while Diane, Esther, Gedoni, Jackye, Joe, Mercy, Mike,Seyi, Venita are ‘Team Cruisetopia’.

Housemates don’t get to change camps and team challenges will be designed to reward the winning team and punish the losing team.

‘Pepper Dem’ housemates will no longer have the usual nomination process of putting up fellow housemates up, instead they will be having nomination challenges.

The losing team of the nomination challenge will automatically have all the team members up for possible eviction, which also affects the wager task.

The winning team will have weekly supplies, while the losing team will have nothing.
