I learnt here not to wash baby's hair everyday, just once a week, so as to retain it's natural oil. I didn't do it with my 1st but doing it with this one.
The kind fight wey I don fight with my mom and mil over this, not a small shometin.
Really? I missed that memo oh. smiley I think its cos it tangles that I just have to wash daily. Don't wanna end up with a rasta smiley

This is so shameful! I can't believe I've been had. The whole pity party might actually be a ruse to get money off innocent mammas. I actually assumed twas another momma with an axe to grind that formed the New moniker to contribute but to think that the antagonist is the protagonist. So shameful! And devious. That kind of person can kill.

Mama zaynie pls help us relatively new mommas on this thread so we don't fall hook line and sinker for such fraudsters.

Imagine that as you were warning the pipe instead of her/him to respect itself and log out; it was still commenting and finally implicated itself. Indeed you were vindicated with ease.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by goodfortun(f): 4:48pm On Nov 07, 2017
Thanks! Want to have both options smiley

zaynie:
Goodfortun, I didn't really use carrier. Only for my first and I stopped by the time he was like 3-4m cos of the weight and the constant fear that buckles will break and straps will tear.....i tie my wrapper and use oja. grin.

Lightedpath, I dont feel comfortable sharing it here boldly. You know a lot of people visit this page.

Thanks momma! Please dyu have an idea as to the price of the evenflow? Thanks!

quote author=Akorkor post=62160924]

You can get a eventflo carrier or anyother good carrier. I personally used eventflow and its from 4kg to 11.8kg. Still using it until 1 year old then will get another one that will last me till 2year.

For his hair, use original shear butter to scrub it before combing. It will make it soft and easy to brush.[/quote]

Lol! @zaynie; true Kent wait to launch it! But really; it tangles and hes in pain when combing. So I usually apply olive oil and comb in the bathroom upon that gan he's in pain. Or should switch to coconut oil??

Then; for the carrier??
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by goodfortun(f): 1:18pm On Nov 07, 2017
Congratulations to all the New moms. Wanted to know wen i can start using baby shampoo for my Bobo. He's 9weeks old and though his hair isn't so much; it tangles and he cries duri ng combing.

Also, I want to get a carrier but want info b4 purchase. What size can one use it from and to? E.g. from 4kg to12kg? Without getting front or back pain? Bobo is almost 6kg.

Thanks!

This is for eksbabe and other mommas whose babies are refusing bottles; have you tried the feeding bottle cover like in the picture? In the hospital where I gave birth, they use bottle covers to feed formula to babies whose moms don't lactate on time. And we continued this when we got home. So my baby has actually not used the teat before and hes on both formula and expressed milk. It minimizes infection from the teat and it'll be easier to transition to sippy cups and cereal bowls when the time comes.

One still has to be careful and sterilize properly. It's painstaking but more effective than cup and spoon in my opinion. The covers are flexible and can be bent as you please particularly the avent bottle covers.

@ enque; that your suggestion bout the video @creche feeding time is so on point.

in this era of child trafficking/abduction

I will suggest she travels with the baby's birth certificate to avoid any harassment or embarrassment at the airport just in case she is asked to provide proof that she is the mother of the baby.

cc goodfortun
Thanks momma. Will go along with a photocopy.

ifyalways:
Ticket : No big deal. Just buy for mom and infant. Infant tkt cost is usually about 5% of adult's.
No seat, you carry your baby. Flights within Nigeria is less than two hours, most are 45 mins and an hour so if you feed baby just before boarding, there might not be need for a second feeding or nappy change. Babies don't need Id for local flights.

Baby passport requirements :
Consent letter from baby daddy
Copy of baby daddy passport data page or voters card
Copy of mom's passport data page
Two passport photos of baby
Passport fees
Baby's biometrics will be taken on submission at passport office
Thanks ma. I appreciate the response. Do you have an idea of the cost of the passport? 5% ke? Without seat for that matter! huh huh Thanks for the heads up ma.

I see someone has given you tips on how to use it but you can't wear it under clothing. It's too bulky. Better to get something thinner that you can wear under clothes as they are more comfortable.
Okay. Thanks

.

Also, I bought this 3-in-1 post partum belt from jumia but I've never used it. Infact; I don't know how it works! There was no manual that came with it.

I'm 2 months post partum via CS which is why i wasnt in a hurry. and want to start now. Has any mama here used it and where does each one go? I've labelled each A.B.C and would really appreciate some insight. Thanks!

This looks like umbilical hernia. When you touch it, does it hurt yiur baby? Does he cry or flinch when you touch it? If it is, you baby would need minor surgery to correct it but still, take your baby to a hospitalto have it checked out
No it doesn't hurt him. What causes the hernia?
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by goodfortun(f): 10:33am On Nov 03, 2017
Thanks mama! I feel very reassured. It's not painful; in fact I press it several times daily and use warm water to press also and he doesn't seem to be aware I'm doing anything

Hello mommas.... congratulations on the New born babies. May God bless and keep them in Jesus name! I've attached a picture of my baby's navel. It was small initially but seems to have blown up as he grew. He's two months old. What can we do bout it? Has anyone here experienced same and it went back in? Thanks!

Have a great weekend

Back on bed is better, u can try putting a soft small pillow to elevate his head a little, then he will be able to breath well...Shear butter is good too. Rub some amount across the nose..
Thanks a bunch! I've done that and moved him to our own bed in between us. I appreciate

[But in the meantime that is now; this night, how can I relieve him? Hes so uncomfortable. The cataarh is just coming out and hes sucking it in as it comes out. I've also tried sucking it out but very little comes out (sorry tmi). Really feeling for him? Which sleep position is most preferred? Back on bed or tummy to relieve cataarh?

Thanks

I wish it was possible to search with keywords on only one thread. Sabi mamas have described this procedure tire.
1. Don't be scared. Gear actually makes you make mistakes. Gather your mind well
2. You're not incompetent, hugs
Get a bucket of hot steaming water, put 2 drops of eucalyptus oil in it and sit on a stool in front of it. Carry your baby firmly on your lap, get your husband to cover both of you with a big sheet. You sef you'll feel the steam entering your respiratory system

Congratulations to the New moms. May God continually keep watch over our babies amen.

I need help! Bobo developed cough and cataarh last night and he's having a miserable time of it. We went to the hospital and were given vit c and piriton; however he's no better. Pls help! I'm scared of hot water and baby but at this rate I've got no choice. How do I go bout it??

I feel pretty incompetent esp cos grandma has been around from birth till 7 weeks and the boy scarcely developed an itch. Now within a couple days of me alone with him, he's fallen ill. sad He's just 7weeks and 5 days. He's not sleeping well at all. Help!!!

Lol, you'll be surprised @ agbo. I've learnt never to assume since I discovered nairaland. My baby never cried cos of colic but he will grunt and squirm in his sleep, the reflux and hiccups are just signs of a developing digestive system. Burp him and keep him upright for a bit after eating before laying him down, he'll outgrow it
Lols! Thanks plenty
