At last, we have a celestial sister!! ![]() |
Me thinks I ain't bored no more. |
That's because there are only 2 GODLY beliefs: Christianity and Islam. So it's either you go to a church or a mosque (if you truely believe in God). |
and why would I? |
Since we now have a queen, I guess that's the end of the contest, hence, the end of this thread.. ![]() |
marvellous! |
I'm sorry to digress. I'm just interested in aswering medube's question. ![]() medube:Concerning drinking (alcohol): Several verses encourage people to stay away from alcohol (Leviticus 10:9; Numbers 6:3; Deuteronomy 14:26; 29:6; Judges 13:4,7,14; 1 Samuel 1:15; Proverbs 20:1; 31:4,6; Isaiah 5:11,22; 24:9; 28:7; 29:9; 56:12; Micah 2:11; Luke 1:15). However, some "christians" here might argue that God only detests "drunkeness" and "addiction to alcohol". If that's the case, why then was Samson's mother and John the baptist warned not to drink strong wine (alcohol) before their births. (Judges 13:4, Luke 1:15). They could equally have been warned "not to get drunk." Some could also argue that Jesus turned water into wine so that makes them qualified/justified to drink. But then, it was never specified whether the wine was a strong one, neither was it recorded that Jesus drank out of the wine. Concerning smoking: The Bible never mentions smoking. It is plainly clear, though, that smoking is a sin. The Bible commands us to not allow our bodies to become "mastered" by anything. 1st Corinthians 6:12 declares, "Everything is permissible for me"-but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me" - but I will not be mastered by anything." Later in the same passage we are told, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The context of the passage is not smoking, but the principle applies. Part of honoring God with our bodies is not doing something that we know is harmful to our bodies. Even the smoking industry admits that smoking is both addictive and harmful to our bodies. Therefore, a Christian should not dishonor both God and his own body by smoking. Thanks.. Once again, I'm sorry.. |

We understand the fact that some people ignorantly practise what's not real. But then, evil spirits are real. Even the proclaimed Bishop David Oyedepo, the pastor of a church with the largest single auditorium in the world, once had a personal encounter with a witch which he narrated in his book, "Towards mental exploits". |
One thing is this.. Everyone is entitled to love. If your best friend eventually falls in love with your husband, I guess it's not her fault. Itzz da feelin.. ![]() |
@IAH, concerning loveth's post, what she's simply trying to say is that God doesnt like lukewarm people. It's either you're hot or cold. It's either you're in or you're out. It's either you go to church or you go to mosque. Capische? ![]() |
I don't criticize. I love making myself clear enough so no one will misjudge me. ![]() |
IAH:I answered you the same way you asked. You said, "Is it compulsory?" and I answered, "Yes, it is." If you had asked, "Why must I go to church", I would have given you the answer u're demanding now. IAH:Congrats! But that shouldn't be an excuse for not going to church anyway. IAH:If you're talking about your own church, then go to another church! There are several other denominations.. If you really want to gain something in church, you will. It all depends on you. For those of us that go to church every sunday, we know what we gain. IAH:If you are a woman of God, then you should be working in HIS VINEYARD (CHURCH). IAH:Why not? Look, I know where you're heading to ok? This is not a case of doing with or without a pastor. There must always be a HEAD in every place, whom you'll have no choice but to abide by his doctrines. Note that pastors are men of God and in most cases, whatever they decide is usually approved by God so who are you to say you can't live by their doctrines? (That's more or less like saying u can't obey God). IAH:Exactly how I said it. If you can't live by the doctrines of a human being who's meant to be head over you in church, then I doubt if you'll live by the doctrines of the human being who's meant to be head over you at home. (your husband i mean). ![]() IAH:Everything is! The solution to your problem lies within you. IAH:I was making the announcement for those who aren't aware.. duhh! ![]() |
Me thinks I'm bored.. ![]() |
