That anyone at all (Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hinduist, atheist, or whatever) can get questions 1 and 5 wrongly really beats me. |

But he had acted out of sheer ignorance, ab initio. That alone should have made God forgive him, even without him asking (I would, if it were my child). Perhaps, Adam himself didn't know what it meant to ask for "forgiveness"? Considering the fact that he was a new human (more like a child), I think he was "innocently naive" then. 1 Like |

And that's assuming he even knew what he did was bad in the first place. Before eating the fruit, he was oblivious of good and evil, innit? |

Na Cele own dey vex me pass! Na there person go dey bear titles like: - Honorary Evangelist - Honorary Senior Evangelist - Senior Evangelist - Most Senior Evangelist - Superior Evangelist - Most Superior Evangelist - Supreme Evangelist (currently the highest title, with the exception of the very 'heads' who bear "Rev. Prophet Pastor", with some others adding Capt., Dr. and Engr.!! ) Funny thing is, before the demise of the Founder, the highest title that existed anywhere in the world was just "Senior Evangelist". Even then, one must had attained a certain level in his spirituality before a newer title could be confered on them, as each and everyone of those titles have their spiritual significance. But what do we have today? Mehn, I tire for these people o! |

Religion / Re: Scared! I Don't Believe In God, And You People Scare Me by goodguy(m): 7:41pm On Jan 27, 2008 |
Wow man, I love your reply. Short, simple and precise. ricadelide: Good observation, and a very good question as well. The change was a gradual one, but unlike the poster here, I still believe in God (or simply put, a supreme being), but just as he said, a lot of things don't make sense anymore. I've become rather skeptical about a lot of things regarding Christianity and religion as a whole. There are different factors that influenced this change actually, but I'll put forward a major one here. Check this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-43442.0.html As I said before, the change may not necessarily be as a result of having being hypocritical in the past. At least, for me I'm sure my previous posts on this forum prove that. . . if anyone feels otherwise, well na them sabi. I really don't know how to explain this myself. . you know, it's more like having a kind of mind renewal. Like, all of a sudden, you begin to realise that all those things you once accepted hook, line and sinker weren't really meant to be, now that you reason it out logically. I know someone will say spiritual things are not meant to be discerned logically. But even then, there are practical stuffs in religion that really are illogical/irrational when viewed properly (objectively actually). Some stories in the Bible are just totally absurd, and really leaves me wondering if this is the same God that is supposed to be omnibenevolent. Just recently, I came across a passage in the Bible where God gave the Isrealites a go-ahead to go to war, kill the men and marry their women thereafter. I was totally miffed. Maybe I read it out of context, I don't know, or it wasn't meant to be taken literally? Just last week too, I read this article on wikipedia and I became more confused??: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_consistency_and_the_Bible. I'm quite a lazy reader, but I was surprised I could read the whole of that long piece to the end. There are some stuffs I myself don't agree with there, I believe they did some pretty poor exegesis in some parts of that article, but for most parts, I agree with the writer. However, the only reason I still haven't ruled out the possibility of the existence of a supreme being is because I still think theism is a more rational position to hold than atheism. I'm not trying to start a debate here anyway, just dey yarn my mind. Actually, I've been hoping earnestly that I will find a solid reason to come back fully into Christianity,so I've been doing more of reading than posting on this board. You and pilgrim.1 have been very helpful so far, but when I just read all these Christian vs Muslim threads it arouses my skepticism the more. . . just as Jagunlabi would say, two deluded fellows arguing over which delusion is better. . but hey, that is just by the way. ricadelide: Ummm. . . I'll see if I can work on this. t'was really helpful. Thanks. |

pilgrim.1: Perhaps, what he really meant there was, "everything seemed genuine". I strongly disagree with those who think he was being hypocritical in his religiosity before now. As I always say, people change, mentalities change, afterall, CHANGE itself is the only constant thing in life. |

Egypt is currently whooping Cameroun's ass. 3 - 0 at half time. Just look at that third goal, even amidst a tight defence, the guy still managed to blaze in a nice shot. I hope Nigeria learns from this. |

Breaking News!!! * Berti Vogts angrily walks out of the press conference when asked why he put Makinwa in the game. His words, "I decide who plays in the team and who doesn't; nobody should question my authority!" * Mikel Obi and Obafemi martins exchange blows . The brawl was said to have been instigated by Mikel who accused the "older players" of not playing with committment. Mikel had previously been quoted thus, "I am ready to die for Nigeria." Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Cote D'ivoire by goodguy(m): 8:10pm On Jan 21, 2008 |
The eagles played well towards the end of the first half and at the beginning of the 2nd half, but after CIV scored, they became somewhat demoralized. I was almost dazing those guys thru the TV screeen when they were playing so sluggishly in the box 18, passing balls like they tied rope to their legs. This was at a time we needed a goal the most, but they fumbled. One major problem I think we have is the lack of pace. Apart from Martins who wasn't really getting the balls, no one else has the pace required to beat the Ivorian defence, and so we were solely relying on our dribbling skills (which was quite pathetic by the way) and were busy 'over-defending'. Kalou's goal was a very wonderful goal I must admit though. What I still don't understand is why Berti Vogts will make Kanu start the game, knowing fully well that he's our super sub. If anyone remembers clearly, this was the same bloody mistake the then coach made in 2006 against this same Cote D'Ivoire!! |

By the way, Mr. Chairman Sir. . . What are the things you promised the people during your campaign? Start executing them NOW! You are closer to the people, so you should know what they need. You don't expect those of us far away from your environs, or even those in the diaspora to be telling you how to lead your own people. Find out whatever is lacking in the region and fix it, the most serious or important of all, being your priority. Wait sef. . . so you mean you didn't even have any idea of what you were going to be doing before contesting for the seat? Oh lawdy lawd! |
