The statement: 'subsidy is gone' made by President Tinubu has created many ripple effects. The President needs to make some clarifications. Technically, subsidy is on till June 30, 2023, going by 2023 budgetary provisions. In the coming weeks, the government would need to meet with stake holders on the issue. Subsidy must go, but there is need for government to handle the matter humanely. Nigerians will prosper again.

PoliticsUrgent Things Tinubu Administration Needs To Do by goodness4ever(op): 12:58pm On May 30, 2023
Now that Tinubu has been sworn in as the Executive President of Nigeria, the following are areas that need swift attention: 1. Work to ensure that Dangote refinery starts operations as scheduled in June so that petroleum will be available in the country; 2. Open Nigerian land borders to allow trans-border trading, but man them effectively; 3. Let the CBN make desive policies on currency and make them available to Nigerians; 4. Look into security issues of the country and beef it up; 5. Ask DSS to follow court's order in releasing Nnamdi Kanu who has been granted bail. These are my humble suggestions.

She stared at the numbers for several seconds.

"I don't understand all these," she finally said. I decided that I would worry about it later.

Precious had always come around to my place, but she had never slept over. I was therefore surprised when she said she would sleep over tonight.

The relationship had been platonic in which we had agreed that there would be no premarital sex. So far, we had been able to keep to that agreement.

"But, what about your parents? Are they not going to express disappointment that you sleep outside?" I asked.

"Seyi, stop treating me as If I'm still a teenager, for God's sake. Why are you saying this? You are supposed to be glad at my decision, aren't you?"

Really? Was I really supposed to be glad by what she wanted to do? I however kept quiet.

She went to the small kitchen to prepare jollof rice. Thankfully, she had brought all the ingredients that were needed along. Precious, I must say, was good at cooking.

What she cooked was delicious and I wasted no time in commending her. After the meal, she cleared the table and took the plates to the kitchen for washing.

She was a good wife material, I decided. She snuggled to me as we watched movies together. Somehow, I still felt uncomfortable that she would be sleeping in the house. This might sound strange to some people, but that was how pruddish I could be.

She later slept off on the couch. It was a Friday. Since the following day was Saturday and I would not be going to work, I decided to watch movies late into the night.

When I was finally going to sleep, I woke Precious up.

"Time to go to bed," I told her.

We went to the bedroom and she started changing into the sleep-wear she had brought along.

"Okay, have a nice sleep," I said, picking up a pillow.

She turned swiftly to stare at me. "And where are you going?" she asked.

He maitained that Tinubu would be embarking on a political adventure that 'lacks conscience and principle' if he should go ahead and contest (Nigerian Tribune, December 13, 2021).

Despite all the remonstrations, Tinubu avowed to continue with the quest for the Presidency. Along the line, there were theories about some APC stalwarts including the Presidency not supporting Tinubu. Many were of the opinion that certain forces were scheming to edge out or disfavour Tinubu in his quest. So palpable were these words that Tinubu had to make the outbust of the famous 'emi l'o kan.' In the full-packed hall on June 3,2022, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, a Presidential hopeful of the APC was the cynosure of all eyes.

He was not just an aspirant. This was Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the party. Tinubu was reeling out tales. They were not another tales by moolight. They were factual tales that had far-reaching effects on the people and the polity. He talked about his no mean contribution in APC, from its formative stage to how he helped to bring Muhammadu Buhari to power and the 'O to ge' force in Kwara state that brought about the decimation of Saraki dynasty in the state. To reign all these in, he declared unequivocally: 'Emi l'o kan.' In Yoruba language, the expression means 'it is my turn.'

A nation that is so divided can achieve little in development. Unity devoid of justice can achieve minimal, but a union nurtured with bitterness is worse.

We must eschew bitterness and rancour. Let's look up to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
