I booked flight ticket way earlier and was getting scared that I might not be able to meet up. Planned on doing a paid call on the 13th but application moved to VAC by 12th. The wait can drive one crazy, you start making up non-existent things that you must have done wrong.

I pray everyone still waiting gets good news soon.

Thank you from the depths of my heart to everyone on to this platform, engaging with questions, issues faced, fears and the ones giving prompt responses and reassurances too. May God reward you all for the kind work.

Congratulations
Dabricious:
LONG POST ALERT:

Good morning my people, I've come to share my timeline to encourage others just the same way I was encouraged with other people's timeline. God's time is truly the best.

Timeline
1st application: 30th August 2020
Biometrics:2nd September 2020
Refusal letter: 11th September 2020
I had 4 reasons for refusal
- purpose of visit
- limited employment prospects in my country
-my current employment situation
-personal assets and financial assets.
The decision was made from their China office.

At that time I didn't know what gcms notes were and I wasn't active on nairaland so I just decided I will re-apply.

2nd application-23rd of February
NSE request:16th March
Submitted Mybankstatement(Submitted my own and my brother's company account statement) on the 29th March and also wrote to them to go through the normal route because I didn't have ielts (i had but my writing score was 5.5)
upfront medical : 29th of April
Medical passed: 19th April
All these while my profile was still on background check.
I became active on nairaland towards the end of May and I started reading other people's testimony/experiences and I started wondering when me too I will share my own good news. Before now, I could stay for 2 weeks without checking my profile but when I became active here, I started checking twice a day. I didn't even know what ghost update meant and had never taken note of it until I read about it here and started looking out for it.
1st ghost update: 7th June
2nd ghost update: 9th June
Checked my profile and noticed they just updated that eligibility review has started
Bvl: 10th June 8:38am
Ppr : 10th June 8:42am
I just fell on the floor and started thanking this faithful God.
Mine is a testimony because its a switch from my first degree
1st degree was computer science, then I gained admission in George Brown College to study Culinary Management.
Since after my service year in 2015, I've been actively doing catering business.
I did a short diploma course with red dish culinary school in Lagos and have a certificate from it so I added it in my application.
My elder brother is my main sponsor but used his company account to sponsor me, my elder sister also wrote a letter saying she will be supporting me financially and she put her offer letter and pay slips.
I also showed about 4.6m in my account.
Also, for more than 2 years, my brother's company has been paying me monthly because I cater for their lunch so this also helped as I indicated it as salary.

I put in a lot my brother's company documents even existing contracts they have with some IOC'S. I also submitted an Affidavit of support from the company.

I'm just so grateful to God because its not of him who Wills, nor of him who runs but of God who shows Mercy.
Thank you to everyone here who kept our hope alive by sharing their own testimonies, you don't know how seeing good news here helped me believe mine will soon come.

For everyone waiting for their good news, it will soon come In Jesus Name.

On a lighter note: I dey find cheap ticket now oh

Congratulations
Lochinny:
Hi guys! Wanted to give my POE experience coz I’ve learnt a lot here and I believe mine would help someone. Sometime in March I told you guys about having a visa that’ll expire in May and that I was thinking of using it to give birth. I was encouraged most especially by @debbieeeeee
and @pointednose to go ahead.. and I actually did.

So here’s my experience:
I traveled with my Child which I gave birth to with the same visa 2 years ago. It wasn’t an easy journey. Went with Qatar airways. (One of the best airline I must say, just that the journey was quite long)
My POE was JFK which I used the previous time. When I got there, I was directed to join the citizens line because of my child. While on the line, a lady saw me and asked me to come forward (obviously a helper from God plus she saw I was pregnant and carrying a child) mind you, I didn’t try to cover it my pregnancy. did same 2 years ago infact I was almost due when I traveled the last time.
So back to my story, I met the POE officer who asked for my passport, he collected my child’s own and asked what I’m here for, I told him to have my 2nd baby. He looked at the computer for a while without saying a word to me, then stamped my child’s passport. Then he collected mine and asked where I was going to stay and asked for how long. I told him the town I was staying and I’m looking at 3months Or more. He now asked if I came with any food stuffs and I told him just spices, he now asked to see my face and I removed my face mask. He then stamped my passport 6 months and said have a nice stay.

From this, I can tell you two things
1) prayer is the key. I and my husband prayed seriously for a smooth Poe. Even told my pastor

2) Be truthful. Just say the truth to them. I learnt it here that being honest pays so when I traveled to have my first child, I told them exactly the same thing, (then I was obviously pregnant so I couldn’t even dare lying) and it was an easy Poe and I used the same JFK.
After hearing people say that 2nd time is always tougher, I got scared and people advised me to cover up since my pregnancy isn’t that obvious but I still couldn’t see myself doing it. I just said what will be will be. I made sure I was with every single receipt from the first one and a letter from the hospital showing I didn’t collect any Medicaid from them. Still they didn’t ask of anything..

These people appreciate honesty and I think if we keep being honest, they’ll start seeing Nigerians in a good way.

Thanks @Debbieeeeee and @PointedNose for the encouragement.

Congratulations
Ih123:
Hi everyone

Just want to say thank you for all the help on this platform.

I got my visa in 3 days. I paid for priority last week Thursday and collected my passport today. I've been denied Visa to France (Lol) before. I got 2 years Visa . I was sponsored by my dad (as a birthday present) even though I currently work and have over 10,000 GBP in my salary savings account.

What I did was to attach my proof of employment, pay slip, salary statement, ID card and then my father wrote a letter of financial support which I got notarized.

I also explained that I would like to travel now since uk is gradually easing off restrictions and that I would quarantine for 5 days with the test to release option.

I think IQAS is preparable for evaluation of LLB certificate based on what I have read from those that have done theirs.
aduku1:
Good day, Please who has used CES evaluation this 2021 and at what stage are you now?

Although I am using but WES and CES but if I get for WES alone they evaluate my Law degree as a four years course and not a degree to practice a profession, this then makes my point end at 477

But with CES evaluation I can get 484 as my point since it's evaluate my law degree as a degree to practice a profession more equivalent to a masters degree

Although I am presently doing my masters but would not complete it until September and Time is of essence
Travel / Re: The REAL TRUTH about living and working permanently in Canada by Goodnessandmercy: 11:18am On Sep 19, 2019
You have said it well. God bless you
Ruthrock:
It is no longer news that Canada is one of the
best countries in the world with a perfect
system in place.

No wonder many Nigerians are relocating to
start a new life over there especially with
the condition of the country

I am not one to say "don't relocate"

If the conditions of this country is frustrating
you, then feel free to move.

Even our so called leaders and politicians have
second passports to other countries.

And they have also secured same for their close
family members.

With that said, if you intend to relocate to
Canada this year, there are 2 ways to do so.

(1) You can get a Canada immigration agent to
assist you with the process.

You can find many of them via Google.com

The 2 problems with this method are:

i. You will spend at least N2m in extra fees and
this fee won't be refunded if your application
does not go through. If you browse online forums,
you will come across various people's stories as
regards this

ii. You will still have to do most of the work
yourself even if your application goes through.
The agent will just collect his money to guide you.

--

(2) The second way is to handle the processing
yourself.

Many people don't do this because they lack the
necessary information on how to do this right.

If you already have all your documents right, you
can finish the process in 10 months.

If you handle your Canada relocation project
yourself, you are going to save a lot of money
as a result and even speed up the process.

Why do you have to pay an agent N2m or more when
you can use all that money to pay for your
flights and other important things?
