According to reports from Italy, Chelsea seems to have made a £40m bid for Juve’s Mattia Caldara, as they try to acquire him before the close of transfer window. Chelsea which have been linked with Juve’s Rugani and Higuain is reportedly shifting attention to defender Caldara.

Italian media outlet, Corriere della Sera was recently quoted by Football Italia  to have linked Chelsea with a bid for the 24yr old defender. Super Eagles player have reacted to Carl Ikeme’s retirement announcement from international football. The embattled goalkeeper released a retirement announcement on Friday much to the shock of the media

Ikeme played a key role for the Nigerian team in the buildup to their 2018 World cup as a first team goalkeeper before suffering acute leukemia which ruled him out of the tournament.

Ikeme on Friday expressed gratitude the management of English club Wolves. He however reiterated that he will look at the decision as a joyful one while expressing thanks for his career opportunity. Super eagles player have since responded to Carl Ikeme post by releasing tribute to the goalkeeper.

Ahmed Musa was the first to respond to the news in his Instagram. Chelsea have finally accepted Manchester United’s €75m bid, for Brazilian attacker Willian. The London club which have recently rejected several offers from Barcelona for the player, is believed to have finally allowed the departure of its player with reports from Italy which have been relayed by the English media suggested that Manchester united might have reached their terms on the player.

The offer is reported believed to have several add-ons and clauses with the arrival of Garry Cahill to the old Trafford as a shock option. This is believed to be a last resort for the red devils, in the event that they fail to land a central defender in the summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to plead guilty to tax fraud as he agree with Spanish authorities. The Portuguese according to media reports is expected to pay a fine in the region of 19m euros (£16.9m) and accept a suspended two-year prison sentence.

An anonymous source who has extensive knowledge of the deal which first reported to the Spanish media confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday that the deal will be finalized within the coming days. Ronaldo is believed to have reached a tentative agreement with the state prosecutor’s office, but the Spanish tax authorities are yet to sign off on the agreement.

The Portuguese was accused last year by the Spanish state prosecutor on four counts of tax fraud valued at 14.7 Million Euros. The tax fraud was stipulated to be within 2011-2014 year.

The prosecutor accused the Portuguese talisman of having used shell companies outside the country to hide financial earning made from the image rights. The accusation does not include his Salary during his time at the Bernebeu. Ronaldo in a court hearing last month denied any wrongdoing when asked by the Judge.

In 2016, Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi received a suspended 21-month jail term after being found guilty of defrauding tax authorities 4.1 million Euros.

The days of coaches collecting bribes to favor footballer seems to be coming to an end, as assistant coach Yusuf Salisu gets caught up in a scandal. Videos of the assistant coach collecting money perceived to be bribe surfaced online yesterday, much to the surprise of the media. This is coming barely 1 month after the nation featured in the Russia 2018 world cup.

The footage captured by the controversial football journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in September 2017, few months to the African Nations Championship in Morocco where Nigeria came second behind the hosts.

In the video, the assistant coach was captured collecting $1000, (N360000), a suppose bait for him to pick two players for the 2018 CHAN tournament.

Victor Ikpeba in reaction to the news, expressed shock over the incident. “I’m shocked at what happened to Salisu Yusuf. This should be a lesson to all our indigenous coaches” The former Super eagle’s footballer wrote on his Twitter handle.

The Nigeria football coaches association seem to have pledged their support for the Super eagle’s assistant coach, as they believe he is innocent of bribery allegations.
