It is obvious that poverty is less prevalent in south east when compared to other regions in Nigeria, most Yorubas believe Igbos are poor because they come to south west, igbos seek opportunity and migrate anywhere they see one, even in those areas, they live better lives than the locals. Here in Lagos, the poorest neighborhoods are occupied by the Yorubas. In areas where Igbos live, you see modern and very expensive buildings. The average monthly yearly rent in my estate is 1.2m and it's occupied by mostly igbos.I don't think a poor man can comfortably pay such an amount in rent in today's Nigeria. The recent covid 19 lockdown is another good example. The Igbos were the least affected,. |
Politics / Re: The Scam Statistics From NBS by gorecwears(m): 4:45pm On May 05, 2020 |
It is only a fool that will believe that there are more poor people in south east than south west, apart from Lagos state,no south western state has higher standard of living than any state in the east.Even Ebonyi,an average family in Igbo land has a millionaire due to the fact that most of them are entrepreneurs. The covid lockdown was a case study as regards level of poverty in some regions in Nigeria. 1 Like 2 Shares |
