blaise26abj:today it is the igbos agitating, we say go and compete. The ijaw are warming up, the north central are warming up, and many more will warm up. If you think we need to fight for it and not equitably zone for it. We'll it won't take long and someone with a weapon will take it over and insist you cannot leave unless via death. To compete, the yoruba have sold out the entire South and made us look like slaves who have to beg the north for power. The earlier power is equitably zoned as is practiced in some states and resources are managed by homogenous regions, that will be the only way Nigeria will start it's ascent out of the doldrums. With respect to obi. Behind him are youths who want their voices to be heard. We are ready to lose the election and will be comfortable with that so long as we aren't marginalised. We have gotten to the level that we don't need new converts. Many who are obidients didn't need convincing. We might all continue to play politics the way we support our football clubs or how we play the PlayStation game of football. We only pick the team who has a chance of winning, yet all our years of doing that has yielded zero dividends. |

MrBlock:please check other previous comments I made to other people regarding the name. Its on the thread sir. Now the first victim was an igbo man by the definition of those days. He was from bendel state. A military officer. Do your research now and you will find out who he was. Nevertheless a yoruba man was involved, the enablers of the coup, the men who were behind the whole brouhaha were not primarily igbo men. Mind you the coup was done after 1960, a time Nigeria just got independence, where nationalism was rife and people were behind the prime nationalist ( you know who that is). A couple of politicians at the time were leading their people against that. They wanted the north for the north and so forth ( you have alot of video evidences of the man who died stating this view publicly), the government at the time didn't do anything about that and thus within the army ranks feelings grew that a betrayal of the independence euphoria that gripped the nation was under threat. Bad blood developed for years and regions specifically tribes ( north) sought to establish dominance on the affairs of the government at that time, not for nationalist gains but regional gains, this angered some people, especially young people who felt the joy of nationhood just achieved was being eroded. Some other young men in the army feeling it was their right to fight for Nigeria, resolved that the only solution to it was to get the enemies of Nigeria out of the equation. They consulted widely ( this you can research for names, you will not see such publicly) and got alot of positive support in agreement with their views to fight for the nation. They plotted, the conscripted, some left before the d day, many stayed, the people who did the leg work were mainly northern soldiers as they were mainly in the rank and file. They seized the amoury , broke into groups with rank and file soldiers and attacked as planned. Some went to lagos in search of some people, some stayed in kaduna to start the process. Some went to the east to do the needful. Kaduna worked, western worked, east failed. My question is. The coup was a massive attack plot comprising of junior officers at the time and plenty rank and file. Were all these igbos ? Every tribe was represented. Even though majority were igbos. Go and check the demography of government and the military at the time. Lots sere igbo officers and government officials. Post war we have seen how they have tried to reduce that anyway. Story for another day. Now I ask. How does a coup started with a burning desire to reset Nigeria back to nationalist views become an igbo coup. What was the aim of the igbos at that time. They already dominated in many fields in Nigeria at that time ( do your research). When the coup was over, did chukwuma take over power or was there a power vacuum? You see alot of the narratives you have known assumed alot and missed alot. |

blaise26abj:do you know why Nigeria might never be a developed nation ? I say this with love with emphasis on the never, we have not learnt to understand our peculiarities and adopt existing systems to suit those peculiarities. Learn to play politics you say, but you fail to realise one main fact. We are not supposed to be a nation by any metric or measurement. A referendum today would prove me right , not just from the igbos but even from the yoruba. That being said. We must understand that what is applicable to America will never work here if we adopt it verbatim. You must localise these solutions to meet the local needs of your people. What is that solution. Zoning and resource control. That is the only solution to current Nigeria and anything less will always result in what you have seen since 1960. Whether by a change of constitution or by whatever means everyone must be made to feel a sense of belonging and take note this goes beyond the igbo but to every other tribe or region to be geographically simplified. Obi presidency is a youthful project and not an igbo one. It is coincidence he is igbo and of course serves that course, but his presidency is driven by youth needs at the moment. If obi wasn't on the ballot, the igbos , like every other election will drink and eat on election day while discussing where to make money on Monday. We don't care. More reasons our own leaders are perennial failures because they aren't help accountable. Nothing works in Nigeria despite it works elsewhere, the reason is because we don't localise it. Democracy would not work in Nigeria till you localise it. Power must be zoned to all regions equitably. As long as we have to fight for it, then it will be justifiable that someone had to flag a Muslim muslim.ticket in this Nigeria, with promises of sharia to ensure he wins. You will never get good governance from such arrangement short or long term. The past years are testament. Peter obi not riding on any negotiation, any collaboration except that the youths accept him , youths of all tribes and regions, might start a new consciousness relating to how government is seen in Nigeria. However as politics is , if he fails to achieve his goals, you can be rest assured of more of the same of the past years. Negotiated governance benefiting the negotiators and not the people. |

MrBlock:please read slowly and comprehend sir. I know what I meant when I mentioned his name is kaduna. Ahamdu bello wasn't the first victim, nevertheless he was a victim. How the northerners felt ? They showed it twice by killing hundreds of thousands of innocent men and women. Equitable ? Well depends on who you ask. All is fair in love and war. Now a war ensues isn't it. Millions are killed both sides. War is declared to end , with no victim no vanquished. The east lost the war. Their lands were made desolate , their People made poor. If there is no vanquished because you still want us all as Nigerians, what was done to rebuild the east. Both physically and otherwise. Why is an igbo man still treated with contempt and anger by the political elite and electorate. Why isn't he trusted if truly there was no vanquished. Oh maybe we need to admit the truth that the igbos lost the war, maybe that explains why he is 5percent , maybe that explains why he is mocked as a roamer whose lands were made desolate. Do you now wonder why some People feel unwelcomed and desire to leave ? So I ask again. My initial question. Why is the war on the igbo still in progress |

blaise26abj:wrong. That's where people get it wrong. Igbo enye eze means igbos have no king. We don't desire an igbo presidency. We don't care really about such politics. What we care about is equity in distribution and that's why we want igbo presidency. Asides Peter obi, who rightly had national appeal, we don't give a hoot about any other politician , but what is equitable is that all regions even if they are made up of goats should be given a chance. Let's assume there is a war today between the south west and Nigeria. Lagos, ibadan , oshogbo. Akure and ilorin are laid desolate, it's war, its bound to happen, people a driven to loss both financially and otherwise, its war and its bound to happen. When the war ends I should believe that rebuilding must be done isn't it . So I ask, was that done? Should that not have been done? If the people.have to build their desolate lands themselves through the brows of their sweat , how do you think they would view the nation that desolated their land. When it was 1999, nobody asked the yoruba is they had good politicians, we all knew they had to be compensated for abiola and 1993 and they Brough forth two people. We picked one. When MEND was making our lives a living day of hell and it was thought that possibly a neutral man from their end become president, we all.agreed and supported him, even though he was a poor politician. It is equitable that developments are shared equally and not fought for across of regions, it is equitable that a national merit list for federal employment is spread to include everyone irrespective of tribe and religion ( take note that even yoruba are now victims of this marginalization). The igbos seeks equity in Nigeria, that's it. If it should be an igbo man, then it should be him, he must not have to negotiate it according to atiku or play the politics of acceptance. That's not how to run an all inclusive nation. As for the property thing, yes the yoruba did that. That explains why we settled there and continued life when though they occupied and took over things we owned in many cases as well. We have lived without much issues up till now together. 1 Like |

gbemishile:that's it. When a nigerian is born in America and he does a mass shooting. When the news says "a Nigerian involved in mass shooting" you get annoyed and say he should be called American. Now it is igbo, you remember the village of his mother. You see what I am saying Now with respect to the northerners, do I blame them? Nope. The coup made them lose someone of importance to them. One man named ahmadu bello ( their anger till today). They butchered hundreds of thousands of igbos in retaliation and were principal in a three year long fought war. Now isn't that enough ? When a war is ended with no victim , no vanquished. Should that not end the war ?. Why the continuous systematic attack on the igbo person. Why are issues of over 50 years ago still at play in today' s Nigeria. Does it surprise anyone that some igbos are reverting back to the feelings that created biafra in the first instance? Why has the war not ended. A genocide against a people , wanton destruction, no repair efforts, yet they survive. Why is the war still raging today against the igbo. |

gbemishile:true. Facts at deluded. But who made him deluded, its a well kept secret of the Nigerian state. Plus chukwuma nzeogwu isn't igbo , wasn't born in igbo land, doesn't even speak igbo fluently in relation to his fluency in the languagse of his state of birth and nurture. His name is kaduna. He was a fine soldier. History would have been different if he had handled the killing of nwafor orizu and not that of ahmadu bello. Fools botched it and today we suffer for a nationalistic coup termed the igbo coup. Or maybe they should not have had the coup. All in all, why has the war continued after 1970 |

EponOjuku:I will not explain that publicly. As for the bolded, it shows you are a neonate on this matter. Maybe on a dead thread will I discuss this with names and timelines. The civil war is a dead issue, however the lessons from it haven't been learned , that's why it still rages on today. Soon it will consume us all. |
