As sad as this is, I'm sure there's more to the story. I pray she survives this, because the agony she will go through otherwise is unfathomable! |
onatisi: why does he need to do something hardcore to win them?why cant he just be original and just be himself I think the appropriate question should be; 'why is he trying so hard to win them?' :-) |
^^ Please, PM me your address! I wan come chop! ^^ |
Nairaman66, thanks a lot. :-) |
ok, now I'm following your "reasons", i see where you're coming from, in a way, even if i dont fully agree with your post as explained. But that's ok, its not everything that needs to be argued over, sometimes things arent black and white. say you have a scenario where you love someone but cannot respect them, how do you think that will work out?
I personally accord due respect to everyone. There have been instances where I've lost the trust I've had in people, but not treated them with disdain. I'm really the wrong person to ask that, because I've learned to treat people with respect, even if they don't deserve it. |
how so? love by itself alone does not sustain a marriage.
LOL, you messed with my 'settings' A person has to be secure to get married, for example; - someone who's looking for a (wo)man to pay his/her way is not secure financially; this shouldn't be a reason to get married. - someone who's looking for a (wo)man, any (wo)man, because (s)he feels lonely, is not emotionally secure; this shouldn't be a reason to get married. - someone who's looking for a (wo)man, because they want to 'keep up with the Jonses' is not socially secure; this, again, is not a reason to get married. I believe I've explained this understandably. Love is the conquering criteria for marriage. No matter how much I respect someone, I can never marry them if I don't have that kind of love for them. When you, genuinely, love someone, you're able to work through their flaws, and gain a better understanding of who they are. This understanding breeds a marriage that works! Love covers a multitude of sins! |
kandiikane: It's cool. Mhen, your mom has style!! You were right, these shoes are a bit small, but it's cool! I'm just glad you're happy with your new shoe! |
^ what, in your opinion, are the right reasons for getting married? most of you continue to churn out "wrong reasons" ( which, to you, is any reason put forward by relatives, society or well meaning married friends). kindly give us your right reasons for marriage, thanks.
Many people look for happiness in all the wrong places; as long as someone, anyone, seeks completion in marriage, it's flawed from the beginning. There should be only one reason a person gets married, and that is because of love, not obligation! How can a girl enter marriage with a man she's not, particularly, fond of, because she 'can't believe she's still single at 26'. I've heard of instances where love came afterwards; in all honesty, after God, my happiness is paramount! |
This is one of the most reasonable post I've read this week! Marriage is not a do or die issue, I will continue to say that, and if you wait for the right time, it will happen. I fully endorse the institution of marriage, as God intended, but it becomes an issue when people jump into it for the wrong reasons! Please, don't get married, because; - Your parents, or family, are putting you under pressure - You feel 'stigmatised' - Your 'mates' are all married - You feel like you're getting too old Entering a happy marriage at 30 is better than entering an unhappy union at 25. God will give us wisdom! |
D'Banj is not your typical crossover artiste, he is solely African. It is not unusual that the Americans don't like the song. I think D'Banj has done well for himself (as per being recognised), but he would have to do something drastic to win hardcore 'western' fans! |
Nice pictures! Karen's hair makes me want to braid mine!! |

I generally like Middle Eastern and Indian meals. Me too! I went to one of their restaurants, and it was an experience! |
CFCfan: Humus is sooo good!! I first got a taste of it at an event on campus, organized by my school's Arab Students Club. I know, right!! It's an acquired taste though! |
manny4life: I had that Goat cheese with spiced spinach and steak, I guess that's what reduced it's sourness, if not, it would have been awful. As for the goat meat, I ALWAYS do justice to it, I love anu ewu... Golly! Milk, cheese, cream, yoghurt, ice cream, etc .. I also love pastries, baked products; they go well together, actually; apple pie & ice cream, waffles & cream, milk & cookies, cheese buns ... It is well! |
Vegetable Soup Serves 8 - 4 heads of Spinach <--- this might seem like an insane amount, but it reduces in size once you've cooked it - 250ml Palm Oil - 2 Onion Bulbs - Assorted Meat (as desired) - 50g Ogiri <--- l love my ogiri - 300g Tomato Purée - Fresh Peppers (as desired) - Seasoning to taste (maggi, etc) - 4 tablespoons of Crayfish ~ Method ~ - Cook all your meats first, and save the stock (season as desired) - Blend the onions and peppers together - Heat the oil, and put the (now onion and pepper paste), then allow to fry whilst stirring occasionally - I put my crayfish in at this stage - After 10 minutes, put in the tomato purée, and fry for another 10 minutes. Times may vary depending on just how much you're making ** the secret to knowing when this has sufficiently fried is when the mixture settled at the bottom of the pot, and the oil rises ** *** at this stage, stir occasionally, having a non-stick pan would be a blessing ** - Put a tiny amount of your meat stock into the mixture, about 100ml - Add the ogiri, and allow to boil. [never blend your ogiri, if you do, the taste overpowers your food] - Add your seasoning, as desired **** as the mixture dries out, replenish the moisture with the meat stock, but put in as little as possible. You want the mixture to be next to dry when you put the spinach in **** - Throw your meats in; I go crazy with the cow foot, tripe, diced gizzard, beef, and goat meat. If mixture is dry, add a little of your meat stock. - Allow to cook, stirring occasionally, and let the water dry out before the next step - Put the cut up spinach into the mixture, and close for 5 minutes. You'll see that the water from the leaves would add a lot of moisture to the soup. Stir, and allow the soup to come together. - Ideally, you shouldn't cook the spinach for more than 5 minutes. If you have any left over stock, please save for another day. :-) |
ItsModella: My friend cooked for us, this was some while back. Awww! I just saw this! Mwwaahh!! |
CFCfan: Shawarma is definitely on my culinary radar loool! Ohh, speaking of Lebanese style foods, hummus is another one for me. Healthy snacking, hummus with carrot sticks! |
manny4life: Yellow Cheddar works for me all the time, last week I had some cheese - something goat cheese, this cheese had a sour taste but it was just ok... Calories is good, but working it out is another. Goats' cheese (or even milk) is a big no no for me; we've all seen (and smelt) goats, so when I smell the milk, the memories are not nice!! Lol! Bring goat meat to me, and I will do it justice. I'm not a fan for mellow cheddar, I also love cheese spreads, cheese for burgers etc .. In fact, let's just put all the things I like under the umbrella of dairy! |
Greyfog: Please do. I would like to have the recipe. Cheers Coming up. |
I'll write the recipe out in a bit. |
manny4life: Cheese works, I do that from time to time but it has to be lean cheese/less fat, yellow cheese works for me most time. What type do u use? I use 'Seriously Strong Cheddar'. I love cheese; even though I eat healthy, I allow for some stuff laden with calories to complete my daily count. |
manny4life: I know of someone who uses spinach, but the meets - Tripes, pig/beef feet, chittelings, etc... When I'm done cooking, my pot is usually big Coming up. :-) Oh, I don't know if you can find ogiri in that part of obodo oyinbo! |
CFCfan: May I skype into your kitchen? Oh, any day oh, Mr San Diego, distance is not an issue. |
hope is fits. Lol, my mum said she wants the shoes you sent me.
