Babateebanana:
Good day everyone, information on this thread are well explanatory and very educative, thumbs up. but I have some few questions to be asked. Pls Adjo10 and other successful mothers in d house, I really needed ur advice. My wife is in her 25th weeks already, and we are proposing she gives birth in Brazil. My question goes thus.
(1)Can we apply for a family tourist visa (we planned going as a family, wife/Husband/daughter, all neccessary documents and Bank statement are available to buttress d visa application).
(2)Or should we just allow only her (wife) to go by business or tourist visa (we have a relation in Brazil who suggest we get a business visa for her and he will send an invitation letter for her to apply)
(3)Is it advisable to process d visa for Her as a pregnant woman giving birth in Brazil by getting all relevant reports from a hospital/doctor in Brazil (what are d chances of issuing her visa by so doing)
(4)Or will u advice we don’t disclose her pregnancy status while filling d form.
Kindly note that we are applying just for birth sake and will return back to Nigeria after her delivery

From what i've read so far

1. Yes you can
2. don't know about business but tourist visa has been successful so far, only her can go too.
3. From experience stated here, not needed nor advisable, chances will be very slim or none at all
4. same with answer to No. 3

Please note, if you read the "short thread" most of these has been clearly stated multiple times with reasons given.

Good morning lovely people. Please any update, positive or negative?

Pls has anyone gotten approval or denial recently?
And any new means of tackling the regional and provincial health stuff letter being requested for of late? Are they still asking? I’m seriously trying to weigh my options. Pls don’t go silent on the group.

Thank you

My 50kobo thoughts on this.
As a thumb rule based on the USA and UK visitors visa application, I believe it is safest to apply for a visitors visa not more than 3-4months in advance.
Apply in February for a trip in May.

If I am a visa officer, I'd be concerned that you are applying for a visa in February when you intend to travel in November.
It won't look like you being organized to me but rather like there is a hidden intent.

Then for the duration of your holiday.
Even Bank MDs are entitled to only 25 working day leaves.
I guess the President has about the same number of days too.
So why will an employee holiday in another man's country for 6 weeks.
Even an entrepreneur like Dangote won't even.

Time is money
And time in a foreign country is more money to be burnt by you.
The visa officers must not have a reason to disbelieve your motive.

Well unless you are an investor seeking raw materials in the Amazon or you'd be undergoing a medical procedure on your spinal cord.
6 weeks looks overrrrrrlllllly fishy to me.

It is safest to leave it at 10 - 12days.
That was the range I used and the range I have used in my other applications.

(Remember these are all theoretical, once your visa is in your hand, you call your shots)
But like they say, stoop to conquer.

Good luck.
I hope my 50kobo thought on this equals the 2cents of the true gurus.

Thank you for this detailed response. I appreciate.

i finally got to the last page of the thread but I don’t know if I missed this part (if it has been responded to before) but I just want to be sure:

Please if applying this February and putting June or July as when I want to visit, will that seem too far or do you advice I put a closer date for visit like April for Easter? And can I choose to travel on a later date if I do.
put April for instance.

2ndly, what’s the maximum number of days advised not to exceed when filling the form as a tourist? Is 6weeks too much? Or we should just stick to 12/15days?

Thank you.

FINAL PART: THE DRAMA!

After the insert pill, contractions started increasing, I started seeing stars from about 3/4pm, I begged for pain relief he said it will slow down contractions, seeing me in pains, he decided to give me very little, not sure this helped the pain. At about 6pm, I was just 2cm. (I had a nurse assigned to sit by my bedside through out, so she was helping with rubbing my back sometimes). At 7pm, Gynae came and inserted the second pill, I went to heaven and came back. After sometime, I sent for hubby and told him to tell Gynae I wanted epidural. After sometime Gynae showed again with some items sha and said he shld check how many cm first, I screamed no matter the cm, just give me epidural, lol, he checked and said u are 5cm, u are progressing well, u can do it, I said im in pains, he said it’s not as if I don’t want to give u, that’s it, (pointing at the items he came with) I came with it but I know u can do it, u are at 5cm already.

At around past 10pm, he checked again and I was 6cm, he said in less than 4hrs I’ll give birth, I screamed, Will I be like this for another one hour? Pls help me, help me, (Funny me) he now decided to rupture the membrane, placed his finger inside my cervix and was doing something I don’t know that made me fly from 6cm to 10cm in some minutes, all I was hearing was, u are 7cm now, almost 8, u have entered 8, getting close to 9, 9cm now, 9, 9, 10cm now. I tot he was just lying to calm me down only for me to be shouting I want to poo, he said wait it’s ur baby’s head. I kept shouting, he said if u push its cervical tear and its theatre matter o, he sha injected me incase I myt need a tear. At that 10cm, Oya push, story, push na, I didn’t know how to, hold ur knee and raise ur head as if u want to look at the baby and push, he finally gave me a small tear, and at the final push baby came screaming his lungs out and I heard “10:41pm”

Birthing placenta was easy, just little cramps.

(Ps: same Gynae did my 2 DnCs and knows my story so he carried my case like egg)

My ppl outside said they already thought its morning I’ll give birth after hearing 2cm and was shocked to hear push.

Sorry for the very long gist.
To God be the glory. I’m signing out till...

Part 2

At 36weeks, I was desperate to hold my son in my hands so I spoke with d Gynae about inducing at 38weeks, he advised we wait till 39weeks to allow baby mature well since there is no medical issue.

At 37 weeks plus, I was admitted due to a serious 48hrs heartburn, somehow I was happy that this one will make them induce me but story, I got treated and was told I’m fine to go home. angry

I went back at 39weeks, no show, scan showed fluid had reduced but still not bad, I asked how about getting induced, he said that hope I know once induction fails, it’s CS. In my mind (I don’t care, so far we are both safe, I’ll rather hold him in my hands than keep getting worried about how he is in d womb). he concluded he won’t let me exceed 40weeks.

I sha requested for a membrane sweep, he smiled and said I’ve been reading a lot, that let him even test my pain threshold’ he did a partial sweep cos cervix was closed. (Painfulllllllll but hopeful).

He gave me a chart to record number of kicks per day, told me to stop the ulcer drugs (induced by pregnancy) and I shld come back for follow up in few days. That night till next day, mucus plug was coming out.

I went back at 39+3days, fluid didn’t increase, according to him, fluid reduces towards EDD but mine seems below range but still not that bad so he said, i shld come back at 39+5days for inducing if labour haven’t started. He Just kept on persuading me sha that the later inducing is done, the better.

39+4days, I woke up with cramps/contraction, was painful so I tot that was it, I called my Gynae that I was coming, meanwhile “the top family members have been calling him” plus all my midnight calls (my Gynae hear am sha) . He said ok come let’s even do what we plan to do tomorrow.

Got to the hospital, got checked, was contracting yet cervix carry padlock embarassed he said if he leaves me, I can be like that till night, some women can even stay that way for 2days before labour finally starts so we decided to kickstart labour by inducing with pills (insert) (around 12pm).

BS

Part 1:

Will try to make it short but it will still be a bit long cos I want to give someone hope.

This journey started in 2016, I got married, got pregnant and had a miscarriage after about 9weeks, (ended with DnC), used the whole of 2017 to try again, did all test, amidst trying different hospitals, i even tried at home insemination, Infact it was a year filled with...lively me became an introvert. fast forward to January 2018, decided for IUI, did all the test again, paid and waited for period to start the process. Period was late, pregnancy confirmed, had to halt and request for a refund at the fertility clinic since I took in naturally. Lost the pregnancy again around same 9/10weeks. (Another DnC done) Another agony!

Prayed and cried like never before, almost gave up trying, I went for a womb reset/massage therapy as recommended. Finally got pregnant again in July with our rainbow baby.

Now the main Birth Story...
