I really feel bad about this, though I can’t help but I sure know how you will be feeling esp following your story right from when you started complaining of them not calling and asking what you can do, it can be depressing cos someone like me, my mind has left Nigeria and was already living in UK even before visa application, it’s really an uneasy trying phase, it’s like dashing your hopes but it’s not for too long, ppl have had more than 6 refusals and waited years but survived the “trials”.

Pls put urself together, look for a school that has April/May intake and start applying so u can reapply for visa. I’m yet to see an administrative review that came out successful except on few occasions and u will see that they took timmmmeeee. (Unless the successful ones don’t post about it anyway).

So choose bro, do you just want justice no matter how long which can still go either ways? Or you really want to have a successful/easier application process to study in the UK?

Think about it calmly and choose, the earlier the better too. #Hugs

The consent letter was it just one from both parents or father writes seperately and mother seperately.
Also if you could share a sample consent letter used.

We called too as regards still waiting, they told my spouse decision hasn't been made and that is still within the time frame for processing application and that he should wait till 11th February, if nothing, he should call back so they can escalate it then.

Wow 11th Feb? They didn’t give me date sef. When was biometrics? And was it priority or standard?

Please how do I escalate to UKVI I am still waiting for a response despite paying for priority and did biometrics on Jan 27. I got a non straight forward mail though but no reply from them since

It’s just 6 working days today. Even without the non straightforward mail, priority is 5-7working days. Now with the mail, it might or might not take extra days. My advice is you wait till next week before thinking of contacting them.

Meanwhile, let me tell u wat they told me wen I sent a paid email: (mine is 19th for dependents)

“...Please note, the priority service does not guarantee that you will receive a decision within certain number of days.

It only means that your application would be put in front of the queue. We aim to complete priority applications as soon as possible however it may get delayed due to several factors.

If it has been over 15 working days for non- settlement applications or 30 working days for settlement applications, please provide the following details:...”

Online application (Standard)3rd December 2020.Biometrics done 14th December,2020 and then the most frustrating wait ever began.Got a non straightforward mail on the 8th January 2021.mailed them the following week and my application was escalated but days later nothing was forthcoming and so i emailed again.Again,nothing!Got a second non straightforward mail on the 22nd of January and immediately got another email that an ECO had requested an interview with me scheduled for 28 of January.On the said day,a call came in around 12noon and i was GRILLED for almost 2hours.I was asked all the questions of this world and was at a point asked to even SPELL the name of my chosen school.It was HELLISH but i managed to keep calm and answer the different questions as best as i could.Yesterday the 2nd of feb i got a decision and collection mail both from tls.went there this morning..lo and behold my Visa was waiting.declared one uk refusal and one usa refusal.declared the countries i have been to and didnt lie in my application.my one cent to anyone applying is STAY CLEAR of standard applications if you no get mind.it was a very trying and frustratin period.All thanks to GOD ALMIGHTY and to everyone here on the platform.you guys are the real MVPs.WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST TRULY!!!

Hi. Please were you eventually able to reach them. My husband is also going to Uws. He did his biometrics on the 21st day of Jan. Priority. His application is still at Dmc. We are looking for ways to reach out to them aswell to know the update.

Just wanted to know if you made any progress on this.

I couldn’t reach them via call, I sent a paid mail following the instructions on their website

You don’t need hard copy of the statement to attend biometrics if that’s what you mean, except for assisted service then statement shldnt be more than 31days

I was worried when I saw some refusals because small things like few naira difference on account statement but God magnified himself.

I’m trying to call UKVI but it’s not getting through to speak with any rep. I want to send a mail, pls what email can I send to?

My dependents application seems to be taking long for priority.

Visa application - Standard.

After 18 working days of biometrics without any update, I sent a mail to UK VI and got a response that my case has been escalated.

On January 21, 2021 (23 working days after biometrics), I got a non-straightforward mail.

Collection/Decision mail - January 29, 2021 (29 working days after biometrics).

Today February 1, 2021 passports collected and all applications approved.

My conclusion and take away from Nairaland.
Standard application is a long waiting game that requires serious patience. Don't box yourself into any timeframe that may give you high BP. If you do everything right and provide the required genuine documents, application will be granted.

The waiting period was really frustrating.

I return all glory to God for His faithfulness over me and my family.

For those still waiting and prospective applicant, God will grant you, your heart desire.

I can’t even plan my trip yet cos my kids are small, baby is just 5mnths so I can’t go without them

I called several times but couldn't get through on Wednesday and Thursday. At about 10 or thereabout, the guy called and even apologised for his inability to call on Wednesday. Then, then the interview started when I was not prepared. We first spoke for 1 hour 45 mins after which he disconnected cos of network then he called back.

Hello house, i tracked my application this morning and saw transferred to VAC, 21 january ikeja priority. Please anyone know how long it will take for me to get collection mail? can it still drop today?

It will most likely drop today.

Infact if u don’t want to wait till Monday, u can go hang around by 2/3pm cos it usually drops around that 3/3:30pm from mine and other experiences. Unless u stay closeby and can still meet up before their 4pm closing no matter the time it drops

Secondly how much does the walk in service cost?

Lastly, how long does it take to get a date for biometrics after application. I need to know this so I can know how many days to request for have of absence from my company.

1. Same amount for each person. Amount is per individual

2. Walk-in is 42k per person paid at the tls office via POS (not cash)

3. You can pick a date same time of application but how far or near the date you pick is based on availability.
Meanwhile, Irrespective of the date chosen, you can decide to walk-in at any day you wish if opting for the walk-in service

God did a quick one for me right from the admission stage, against all odds I scaled through, to God all glory be given.

I don't know if I should be worried bcuz why I was refused was CRAZY and I was also given right to administrative review which I have done but just worried about my passport.

I Followed this great thread since February 2020.. a silent reader doing his own little contributions to the thread ...I was able to do my application from the beginning to the end with the help of this thread
Thanks to everybody who has done one thing or the other to contribute to this thread and I pray everyone expecting their own visa will get it in Jesus name..
