LadyIE: In my experience, the guys at the border will typically greet you with a "Hello/Hi and Bonjour" combo greeting and the conversation will proceed in whichever language YOU continue in, if you say good afternoon, they'll 99% of the time proceed in English. I'm not sure they go digging in your file to see if you got PR through the French draws but if push comes to shove for whatever reason, anyone with a CLB7 should be comfortable to have a conversation with a border officer in French even if there are errors....but I doubt it'll ever come to that. #PersonalOpinion 4 Likes |

Shukusheka: Page 1 post 3. AFAIK a PDG isn't equivalent to a Masters. To get points for 2 or more degrees under "Level of Education", evaluate your OND and HND as most people usually do OR evaluate the HND (not OND) alone and combine with with your Canadian PGD (looks like the OND alone is evaluated by WES as a 2 year degree)...... this is my understanding, research more to be 100% certain. Your PGD will fetch you 15 points for Canadian education of 1 or 2 years under the "Additional Points" - see second link on page 1 post 2.

Arrowhead12: See page 1, FAQ 20-22 & FAQ 41 Post ITA checklist on page 1 post 5 may be useful. We are required to declare all side hustles/freelance work in personal history post ITA; this way you'll also be able to properly explain your source of funds and any additional transfers into your POF account in an LOE. You need a letter from the financial institution holding your POF, not just a statement of account. 2 Likes |

stainless91: This is just a guess - I think it depends..... if it's a small farm, then you could be both and your JD will cover all or most of the duties in each one. If it is a larger operation, then it may be safer if your JD mostly aligns with one or the other i.e. your JD matches 5 of the Farm Supervisor duties. I think it may be a bit dangerous to have 2 duties from one and 3 from the other. I'm not 100% sure though. From the lead statement, looks like the Agric Serv Contractor is the foot-soldier and the Farm Supervisor is the Oga. 2 Likes |

MayorOfEdmonton: Thanks for bringing up this important point. Black Bold - IRCC has told us that we do not need to satisfy the education requirements of the NOC we choose, which we both seem to agree to, in general. Bone of contention is medical field https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/537#101136249 Purple Bold - You may be right especially with the doctor example, which is valid (edited Page 1 to read "except you're a doctor or pharmacist"..... to be fair IRCC asks for a special body to evaluate the ECA for those 2). However, I think (could be wrong) there may be some medical jobs that one can perform competently without a previous degree e.g. auxiliary nurses, where they learn on the job. A VO is free to ask for ADR during his assessment, however even for medical job, I'm not sure he is free to reject an application because the applicant did not have the education requirements for said job/NOC, provided the applicant actually did perform the duties and can prove it (as your friend did with evidence of training or some other person with a medical job could do with evidence of haven learnt on the job). This would be a good one to see a judicial review judgement on...like the law, professional degree WES matter #MyThoughts |

bobjob: It's a little confusing, but.... Any relative, other than your sibling or the sibling of your spouse/common law partner, adds ZERO to your CRS but could add 5 points to your eligibility score. If I had over 67 in eligibility, I wouldn't bother to claim eligibility points from a non-sibling relative. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers/six-selection-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html |

Ayolayemi: Since you are both single as of today, why not create a profile each...it's never a good idea to delay entering the pool. Does your partner have only 1 year work experience in the last 10 years? If he has more years of WE (within the last 10 years) in other NOCs, he could add these too (even though his software NOC will be the primary one). Read FAQ 14 and 15 Also see if your JD fits any CBD category NOCs. |

Pepman: Question 3 - see link and screenshot https://www.ontario.ca/page/applying-ontario-immigrant-nominee-program-oinp Other important info about granting OINP access to his ECA report and the new requirement for a consent letter are on the OINP webpage. Question 1 - his profile will become ineligible once his IELTS expires...he must rewrite IELTS......and update the new results before expiry of the old IELTS result.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by GraciousWords: 7:55pm On Mar 23 |
Ayolayemi: To answer the question in red - you can't. You can (or maybe I should say "should" ) only enter the pool as a couple (i.e. one person adds the other as "spouse" ) if you are indeed married or in a common law relationship AFAIK....remember your responses are supposed to be honest, so if you are not married nor in a common law relationship then, you aren't......you are very single However, each of you can create a profile today and enter the pool as single people. One of you may get ITA before the wedding, in which case, the person submits their application, and when you marry in August, the person with the PR application adds spouse post AOR. If neither of you get ITA before the wedding, then I believe you can each add the other person as spouse on your individual profiles...this will affect each person's CRS though. Pls study page 1..... FAQ 5, 9 and 34 kind of cover this. Why you are so keen to enter the pool as "one"? |

In my early days of pursuing EE. I read a PPR story here...part 5...that highlighted to me the importance of reading and research. https://www.nairaland.com/4657743/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/327#71552587 The babe believe say EE no fit work for am, say na study route sure pass...it took her colleague highlighting that her law degree was equivalent to a masters CRS points wise for her to progress. I've seen people's apps rejected for small/minor things like PCC obtained before leaving one's former country of residence or ECA done was not for immigration. The one wey dey pain pass na lost opportunities...like when someone misinforms a prospective applicant that their work and education must match. Or that your NOC must be for your current job......Or that if your POF no complete for 6 months no even bother to apply! Anyway sha...wetin I wan talk be say make we dey try dey study small. #StudyPage1 #RamblingsOfAPR 7 Likes |

zeb04: Sister! My advice is that you study the whole of page 1. After reading come back and ask anything you are confused about and the good people here will assist. But make sure say you don already study wella....make the seniors no begin vex. The summary is that if your job duties match an NOC e.g. 12345 (na example o) then you are good to go with that NOC, provided you can get a ref letter from your employer that fits exactly what IRCC wants to see (for that one...see page 1 post 5). Job duties is the koko your job title and degrees are irrelevant. If you are targeting CBD, remember that the CBD NOC in your profile must be work experience from the last 3 years. You may get the ITA (not sure how the system is configured) but if the VO assessing your app sees that the work na from more than 3 years ago....I no know wetin fit happen. If no be CBD, then work experience from the last 10 years works for regular FSW. Na there my understanding reach. Go to page 1 post 3 and read up on the section that has this...and FAQ 14 to 16 too.... Work experience does NOT need to match education/degree for FSW. FSW work experience is not about what you studied as a degree, but what you do/did in your job e.g. an engineering graduate working as a barber must choose the NOC for barbers not engineers. |

BiyiTudors: BiyiTudors: Brother! Your CRS must be very high for you to be considering declining your NOI. Pls go ahead and edit your names properly on your EE profile - page 1 FAQ 26 pls. An edit that does not involve a change in your CRS or NOC should not impact the NOI IMO. 5 Likes |

LadyIE: Bold - details in screenshot (from the application checklist on page 1 post 5) is what IRCC "requests"/expects to see, as proof of work experience. Does your ref letter from your employer conform to this? Does it include the other things (apart for job description) in the screenshot like hours worked, annual salary, employment dates etc? Page 1 FAQ 48 has a sample work ref letter. Just guessing like aurorae1 that this may be the issue, we could be wrong. It seems like once the ref letter is perfect, people rarely get ADR for employment, although a few do. You may want to request another ref letter from your employer if the previous one is deficient, maybe add any of the other docs listed in my post that are readily available. Please don't miss the 7 day deadline, try to submit at least a day or 2 before......... that their website used to have brain touching problem sometimes. Upload on the GCkey portal and send by webform as well (just in case). 2 Likes

LadyIE: *What exactly did they ask for in your ADR? Maybe share a screenshot with your personal info removed. *Does your ref letter contain all that IRCC requests? *Does your Job description in your ref letter match your NOC? Is it an NOC starting with 0 meaning oga oga or C-suite executive? *Does your company have online presence? Are you listed at all on the web pages or social media handles? *In addition to pay slips and banks statements with monthly salary highlighted, maybe also include promotion/commendation letters, linkedin details, annual goals, annual manager evaluations and appraisals, call card, employment ID, vacation requests and approvals, evidence of tax payment, emails showing an aspect of your function being performed or other examples showing the completion of 2 or 3 tasks on your JD. Maybe add evidence of trainings you attended. Tie everything together in a carefully worded LOE emphasize all the aspects of the IRCC ref letter that are already present in your initial ref letter. Pls refer to the IRCC webpage indicating that we do not need to have the educational requirements for our NOC, if you believe that this is a concern (geology to banking) when you draft the LOE as you resubmit. All the best! 6 Likes 1 Share |
