Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District and leading aspirant for the upcoming Anambra State Governorship Election on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, has commenced his consultative visit to the party's stakeholders in Anambra North Senatorial District. He aims to inform them of his intention to contest the party's gubernatorial primary next year.

As part of his efforts to engage with all party stakeholders, Senator Ubah visited Mr Vin Okafor at his country home in Umunya of Oyi Local Government Area, on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

During the visit, Senator Ubah appreciated Mr Okafor and stakeholders from the community for their efforts to strengthen the party in Anambra State. He also officially informed them about his intention to contest the next Gubernatorial Primary of the APC.

Senator Ubah, accompanied by key stakeholders of the party in the South-East, pledged to promote the party's ideology and urged Mr Okafor to support his aspiration. He also promised not to disappoint the party if elected as its candidate.

Responding, Mr Vin Okafor appreciated Senator Ubah's contributions to promoting the party's ideology and his patriotism, and blessed his aspiration.

On Friday, July 19, 2024, I attended the burial ceremony of our fallen hero, Mr Azuka Nzewi, in the company of Nnewi Concerned Citizens (NCC) executive members and stakeholders. Mr Nzewi was tragically killed by gunmen while working tirelessly to keep us safe, alongside his commander, the late Mr Chieloka Ubajekwe.

In my remarks at the event, held at the deceased's compound in Mbanakwu Okpuno Nnewichi, Nnewi, I highlighted Mr Nzewi's exceptional bravery and dedication to serving ndị Nnewi. I also acknowledged the immense sacrifices he made to ensure our safety and security.

I further expressed my deepest condolences to his family and friends, and assured them that, with the support of NCC, I would always do my best to provide them with adequate support.

Furthermore, I took the opportunity to appreciate our gallant Vigilante Personnel for their selfless services in keeping us safe, and assured them that their sacrifices would never be in vain.

As we laid Mr Azuka Nzewi to rest, I urged everyone to honour his memory by continuing to work together for the betterment of our noble town. Let us never forget the sacrifices made by him and others like him in the line of duty.

May his soul rest in peace.
