Voy:
This is probably the most difficult writeup I've done in recent times, but don't leave me yet...

You see, I love the Igbo tribe so much that I had to write Jamb three times and insisted on studying in an Igbo speaking state... Unfortunately, UNN and ESUT refused me admission, while I rejected to study Chemical Engineering in The Federal Polytechnic, Afikpo; Ebonyi State.

I've lived, mingled and transacted with lots of my Igbo business men and one thing stands out...

They are all ritualist...

A friend recently had a printing contract, and needed to come to Lagos to buy some of the things, like papers et all...

So, he approached the Mushin Market, with his well starched, ironed with visible contour; and a beautiful pair of shoe..

With high shoulder, he stepped out of the house to the admiration of street babes...

To him, going to buy materials worth almost 500k was a big deal, but he came back feeling slightly depressed...

Da, what's wrong, I asked politely having observed his mood...

For some minutes, he couldn't say anything...

So I thought he's been duped and brainwashed not to tell anyone,,,

You know the games na..

In the end, he said mildly; Da, fear igbo men ooo...

What happened, I asked again?

His response made me laugh so loud...

If you see what I saw today eh!

After I made a transfer to the guy for the 250k Papers I bought, for him to confirm the money has entered; he showed me the alert, and my eyes went to the account balance...

Bro, I saw 50million plus in the guy's account...

I mean, this guy was wearing bathroom slippers, Short and a small t-shirt...

There must be something else he does...

He must be a "ritualist"...

I immediately reacted in defense of the guy...

This mindset has been nurtured for too long by people of different tribes...

In my over 10years of associating with Igbo friends, I have been able to confirm that they are all positive "ritualist"...

May be we all need to look up the meaning of rituals...

The sudden wealth of an Igbo man is as a result of years of accumulation.

Igbo Business men who are already Millionaires will still look like one who hasn't seen N1 in a whole year...

They don't live in an expensive house while trying to build wealth...

They don't buy the most expensive cars when trying to build wealth, if they do during Christmas, they are selling it in January when they return from the village...

They don't go for expensive clothes while trying to build wealth...

They don't impress babes with money, while trying to build wealth...

But, the moment they've accumulated enough, everything mentioned above will be done in double of what anyone else has been doing,,,

They have a life ritual to build wealth...

They have healthy competition among themselves, if you think I'm lying, go to Anambra and see houses...

The major ritual of an Igbo Business man is patience, while building...

That is why, whenever I go to their shops and they call me my oga, I will quickly return it to them... Igbo man will respect and almost worship you just to sell his goods to you, but meet outside his shop, he tells you; get away there!

The sudden wealth of an Igbo Business man is as a result of many years of savings, and investment rituals..

So, next time you hear anyone telling you, Igbo Business men are "ritualist", be proud to let them know they are...

Because it takes strong ritual sacrifices in patience, savings and investment to build sustainable wealth...

If you are an Igbo Business man here, biko hit share to inspire your other brothers and let the world know that your rituals are positive rituals of patience, savings and investment...

One love my Igbo brothers...
...U totally earned my respect on dis super intelligent analysis of the igbo race....so true an average igbo Man is a millionaire

it was just last year, SO WHAT?

Trust me, it was a good opportunity and IF I had formally applied/shown interest/taken it, it would have paid off big big time, and launched me into that space (man know man sweet when you are the beneficial of it, lmao)

But I did not

So let the matter rest

besides it was just an enquiry

Did I show keen interest like my life depends on it?

and yes indeed, it still does not change my perception of the educational system in NiggerArea

NONNYG:
In the celebration of EID, I will be giving out 127 manufactures/suppliers’ contacts to 20 lucky nairalanders who are already into mini importation, I believe this will boost their businesses and save them some stress searching for a trusted supplier. The contacts I will be giving are suppliers from China, Turkey and Vietnam. They manufacture/supply shoes, bags, clothes, jewelries, phones accessories, make up kits, human hair. The contacts include their numbers (WhatsApp & WeChat), e-mails, business name.

Kindly suggest how I can do this as I don’t want to break nairaland rules and regulation

Meanwhile I also have a mini importation class for beginners, in my class you will learn mini importation from scratch. The cost is 1k. Contact me via my signature

This is what showoff does. It breeds envy and bring you unnecessary problems.

Man will do many things to get himself loved; he will do all things to get himself envied ~ Mark Twain

Envy is a weed that should never be watered.

While on my routine evening walk, I saw him driving one of his Rolls Rolls Phantom (with no number plate) inside Omole Phase 2 about 2weeks ago. Driving up & down (as if strolling with the car).

Never be so foolish as to believe that you're stirring up admiration by flaunting the qualities that raise you above others.

By making others aware of their inferior position, you are only stirring up "Unhappy Admiration" or envy.

And when people envy you, they will work against you insidiously.

It is now that people will want to know his source of income. People who never cared to know how much he suffered in the past.

Why? Simply because he brought it upon himself through his unnecessary showoffs.

People hate those who make them feel their own inferiority ~ Lord Chesterfield

The fool dares the gods envy by flaunting his victories.

How about someone like Akinwumi Adesina? Must nepotism be number 1 in Nigeria?

Dr Akinwumi Adesina is a proven administrator. He would do better than all those people listed up there

Since we are listing profiles here, let me drop the profile of Akinwumi Adesina for those who do not know

* Akinwumi Adesina is the President of the African Development Bank

* He was Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)

* He attended a village school in Oyo and went ahead to graduate with a Bachelors in Agricultural Economics with First Class Honors from the University of Ife, Nigeria (1981) (Note: A first class from OAU is no joke)

* He was the first student to be awarded this first class in that department in OAU

* He has his masters from Purdue University in Indiana

* He has a PhD (Agricultural Economics) in 1988 from Purdue where he won the Outstanding PhD Thesis for his research work.

* He worked at the Rockefeller Foundation since winning a fellowship from the Foundation as a senior scientist

* His short time as Minister of Agriculture in Nigeria created the agricultural revolution we are enjoying today.

* He is the current President of the African Development Bank

I am tired of typing.

Explorers:
A First World War soldier's bedroom has lain completely untouched in his former home since he died from injuries 102 years ago.

Dragoons' Second Lieutenant Hubert Rochereau died in an English field ambulance after fighting in the village of Loker, Flanders, on 26 April 1918.

His heartbroken parents, initially unable to locate their son's body, said they would turn his bedroom into a permanent shrine to his memory.

Mr Rochereau was buried in a British cemetery and lay undiscovered by his family until four years after the war ended, in 1922.

He was repatriated to a graveyard at his home village of Bélâbre, 44 miles from Poitiers, south-western France.

His bedroom, where he was also born, remains untouched to this day as a permanent memorial.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Share Your Experience With Weird People You Have Encountered by Grateful007: 6:26pm On Apr 18, 2020
mygreenday:
hmmmn
you know how sometimes you pray to meet someone just like you.

i met a girl many years back. i am very dark and she was very fair and pretty. we just blended from the first day we met. i would be thinking of something and next thing she is talking about it or she calls and talks about it. it was so much like she was 10 steps ahead of me in my thoughts and it became very scary. it was more than telepathy.

back then in school. i went to my friend's lodge to play ball then after the match i went to their lodge bathroom to have a bath. I was having my bath and someone was already in the next bathroom and she started singing BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS by GREENDAY, it was a girl. Out of surprise, I was singing the song with her and she sang it with no mistake. then she left the bathroom. I came out and told my friend about it. We went to all the rooms with babes inside and they were all like i was speaking German. That was over 10 years ago still can't forget it.

if you ever went to boarding school, you would likely meet lots of weird people.
I know a guy who nobody never ever saw him take a bath. yes he took a bath and he was very neat but he would wait till there was nobody or he bath very early when everywhere is still dark. Boys hostel where guys can walk around and bath together yet nobody saw him without a shirt for 6 years. I will not say his name... the internet is a small place.

----

I saw my neighbors child sitting down quiet like she was sad and bored. I tried to cheer her up with toys and those barney & friends stuff. Nothing was working. she didn't say a word for like 5 more minutes & I was still trying to cheer her up. Next thing she screamed at me CAN'T YOU SEE I AM THINKING OF SOMETHING? PLEASE STAY QUIET. then she went blank again. walahi i was shocked. she was just 2 years old.

-----

Let me add one i remembered
this happened during my NYSC. One very cold early morning I was jogging to my friend's house so we can gym then suddenly a fly entered my eye. you know how frustrating this can be right? i stopped running so I could rub my eye but one very old woman from nowhere on that lonely road told me not to rub my eyes. she was not speaking in English or yoruba but was just making gesture and some noises like dumb people usually do. she demonstrated that i should spit twice on the floor. I did it and the fly just came out without stress. I don't know if this is an ancient trick or what but it was a very weird experience.
Holy shit
