Let LO clock 2 but meanwhile work on
1. Potty training
2. Simple counting like 1-10
3. Pencil grip by scribbling on sand trays, picking objects with the thumb, fore and middle fingers, working with play dough, colouring with attention on these 3 fingers ( dont let her hold the crayon with a stab), also direct her to colour within the lines.
4. Identification of the colours
5. Identification of body parts : touch your eyes, lift your foot etc

She doesnt have to be perfect in all the above. Just a basic knowledge and introduction. Something to keep her busy.
It should be fun o.....no carry cane

I sing when I feed them...esp when I'm in a good mood. They stop, stare ,smile and go back to feeding.
Also feed her before she gets too hungry, you can even time her.

Please what's the appropriate age to enrol a child to school. Considering the fees i am hearing after scouting for schools i am considering allowing my LO to clock 2 before enrolling her. What do you think? Do they really teach them stuff that are tangible before age 2 in school? Please advice

In marriage especially where very young kids are involved, practicality should take precedence over sentimentality.

@op mentioned in his opening post that the very nature of his job is mobile and takes him from place to place. Initially he started off by taking his family with him to wherever employment might be based on sentimental feelings that his family should always be with him, together. Good intentions yes, but was it practical? No. Why? Because it was beginning to have a negative impact on the dynamics of his family - I.e. wifey couldn't settle down to do anything tangible that would add to the family's income AND the constant change of schools was starting to affect his son's performance.

This is a very young family and like most new unions, finance is a big issue. He already touched on how he's already spent quite a lot trying to help wifey set up a business in addition to the N20,000 he spent on her to learn hairdressing but to no avail. His family is struggling financially otherwise he wouldn't have mentioned this or the N20,000 spent. I mean this as no disrespect to @op, but seriously what is N20K? That's roughly £33 and shouldn't be that much of a big deal, but it is for them.

Re: The bolded part of your sentence, this isn't about you or rather, this isn't about just his wife. There are kids involved here now and yes, it's 100% better for them to live in a more comfortable family household eating chicken everyday rather than soaking garri out of misplaced pride. As a mother, your kids' comfort come first over everything else, at the expense of your own comfort.

And just to pick your brains: do you honestly think he'd suggest moving his family in with his mother if he could afford a separate accommodation for them? Who will pay the rent? Who'll pay for feeding including the soaked garri you mention? Who'll pay for all the other bills (utility, fuel, etc) to run that place? His non-working wife? Pls, let's get real when giving out advice on here. This isn't the Romance or Jokes Section.

No matter how good the mother in law is, conflict is ubiquitous and human will always be human. She's better off staying with her own family than with an inlaw where issues might arise and her feelings or mother in laws' feelings will get hurt along the line. Some of these issues might dent their relationship to an irreparable extent. No wife wants to be in that place.

What i will say is, it depends on the circumstance and situation. Even women think and fantasize about sex when they don't have much on their plate. It's just a function of how busy our mind is at any given period. I have been on leave since the beginning of this week, so i don't really have work on my mind amd the result is a 'orny' me . My hubby on the other hand just took up a tasking role at work and at the same time preparing for an exam, so the last thing on his mind right now is sex.

It all boils down to how preoccupied we are with other life issues.

Yes, companionship. Contrary to popular views that living with MIL is all doom and gloom, it doesn't have to be that way. It all depends on how the dynamics of that relationship is handled. Besides, he admitted to having kid s, and with a marriage just five years old, his children must be very young (toddlers/babies). It's no mean feat looking after very young kids and running a business/studying/managing a career.

So mama is very much needed in the picture. For now.

Efe, for the first time, i disagree with you. 98% of women wouldn't want to stay with their mother-in-law. I for one will prefer to keep drinking garri in my own house than to move to my mother-in-laws' where I'd be eating chicken.

What the OP needs to do is to hava a talk with his wife and ask her what exactly she really wants. Trading/entrepreneurship is not meant for everyone. She may be better off getting a jo,b depending on her level of qualification. What OP really needs to be sure of is if the wife is ready to work or she is just the lazy type. If she's the lazy type, then that's a whole different issue.

I can only speak for TOEFL. Its not difficult but you need to be prepared to understand the nature of the questions as well as the appropriate answers required. I spent less than five days preparing for the TOEFL and made a 100+ score. I would add that writing the GRE before taking the TOEFL was a big plus since the TOEFL was like a subset of the GRE plus the speaking session.

If i may ask, where do you intend to study?

Additionally, North American schools have a preference for TOEFL, while European schools prefer IELTS.

My brother you have three options::::::

1) You can man up and tell your wife and her mother that you are not comfortable with the way things are and that you need your privacy.(this option is not easy because you will have to face the 'wrath' of your wife or her mother or 'both')

2) You can get a male elder in your wife's family that is 'understanding' to talk to your mother-in-law to respect you and your wife's privacy(this too is risky because it can backfire if ypur mother-in-law takes it the wrong way)

3) 'OPERATION FLUSH HER OUT"--- make your home very 'uncomfortable' for her! Old women are superstitious so you can take advantage of that, you can start by dropping strange objects in the room she sleeps whenever she visits, you can arrange for strange noises to be made close to her window in the middle of the night, if your wife travels you can even go hardcore Nollywood on her, like pretend you are carrying out strange rituals in the middle of the night or just wear all white and be dancing azonto at odd hours and make sure she sees you
