Politics › 19yr-old Boy For Rapes Nursing Mother In Edo by gratiaeo(op): 8:58am On Aug 09, 2014
By SIMON EBEGBULEM
THE Police in Edo State has arrested 19-year old Peter Braimoh who allegedly raped a 24 year-old nursing mother at Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Council of Edo State.
The suspect was said to have gained entrance into the victim’s residence through the window at about 4am, knowing that the husband was not around.  On gaining entrance into the house, he ordered the woman to UnCloth and allow him make love to her or her little baby will be shot dead.
But while the victim was pleading to the suspect to take whatever valuable in the room and leave her alone, the suspect was said to have gone for the little baby and turned him upside down, forcing the mother to her kneels as she begged the suspect to spare the life of the baby.
Following the persistent threat, the nursing mother agreed to the suspect’s advances and she was raped by the suspect. However, after the incident the suspect escaped but the matter was reported to the police Division in Agenebode.
The police swung into action and the suspect was trailed to an undisclosed location where he was arrested. The Police in Agenebode transferred the case to the State Police headquarters in Benin City last Sunday.
The suspect who spoke to newsmen at the state Police Command attributed his action to the handiwork of the devil and appealed for mercy from the government.
He said, “ the devil pushed me to go and make love to her because I have been seeing her. I don’t know when and how it happened, I am only appealing that they should forgive me I will not try such thing again in my life”.
However, the victim who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, appealed to the police to investigate the matter and prosecute the suspect. Edo state Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo assured that the matter would be charged to court after investigation.

The only way Nigeria know how to solve problems is to throw money at it. No strategies, nothing. The next thing is they will buy jeeps & print ‘ebola intervention fund’on it. After 3 months all the jeeps will disappear inside ministers garrage. Meanwhile nothing concrete or meaning full will be on ground. Some innocent people will die & the beat will go on. Why are our thinkers never allowed to do anything to improve this country? When the ebola victims got to america how many billion dollars was thrown at it?.

*Says a lot of water has passed under the bridge
By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor
The chairman of the Senate committee on education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije has reversed the ringing endorsement of the education policies of the Rauf Aregbesola administration saying the good policies have been darkened.
Senator Chukwumerije in a statement issued yesterday said the decision to withdraw the endorsement was upon feelers from stakeholders in the state who claimed that the reality as seen three years ago have been eroded.
Senator Chukwumerije had in 2012 while leading a delegation of the Senate Committee on Education on a supervisory visit to Osun State had hailed the education policies of the Aregbesola administration as unprecedented in the country.
Then, he had said:“The Governor of Osun is God-sent to his people. Aregbesola, as a fresh governor, has shown that he is a serious-minded person. For the first time, the education policy of Ogbeni Aregbesola remains the best in the country, even ahead that of Lagos State.”
However, reversing himself yesterday, Chukwumerije in a statement made available to Vanguard said: “Two years ago when the Senate Committee on Education visited Osun State as part of its oversight functions, I had cause to commend the education policies of Rauf Aregbesola.”
“Over 700 days down the line, a lot of water has passed under the bridge with many insisting that those policies were merely on paper.”
“In addition, stakeholders in the State, especially parents, proprietors, and school managers have inundated the Committee with tell-tales of woes in schools in the State, adding that the waters that have passed under the bridge in two years have been muddied.  They cited as an example the questionable N8 billion “Opon Imo” project.  This has also been confirmed by political opponents of the governor in their public comments. When good policies are darkened the way that project was, then change is a must.”

anago9010: animal the more you try hard to sound intelligent, the more you expose your gross stupidity and illiteracy. what on God's earth is speck. don't come here again loser, concentrate on your alaba things where your expertise lies.
Actualyy Yorubas are not cowards because they are worse of than cowards, I cant simply understand how Yourbas Leaders were imprisoned in the 60s for crimes they did not commit and the whole Yoruba nation kept mute until Nzeogwu Struck.

As if that was not enough when the second coup came ogundipe who was the most senior office in the army ran away to London rather than seize the opportunity offered by the leadership vaccum.
The whole world were taken aback again when in 1976 during Dimkas coup OBJ the Vice president was no where to be found , rather when the coup was squashed some northeners like TY danhjuma had to call him out o his hiding place to make room for his presidencey.

In 1993 Abiola the Field Marshall of Yoruba Land (AAre On kakanfo) was jailed by an ordinary Nigerian soldier his crime was winning an election again, the whole Yoruba nation ccould not live up to expectation , at a time an ordinary Major in the Army Major Al mustapha made 17 Yorubas generals to frog jump and eventually imprisoned the vice President who is a yoruba man O.O Diya for live his only saving grace was that Abach died in power.

The SW is the only group that never contemplated coup through out the history of Nigeria, Even the minorities in middle belt and south south carried out very bloody coups that shook the nation,The Yoruba nation eventhough interested in coups cannot perform they only fight a Governmet from the pages of Newspapers.
Even an ordinary henry Okah that was imprisoned by Yaradua gave Nigeria sleepless nights however 17 yoruba Generals , including Abiola , O.O.Diya and the buffon OBJ were on death row and the yorba Nation was mute like a dead dog only making noise in the streets of London and washington.

anago9010: illiterate it is spelt Ilorin, when will y'all bantunoid reclaim your abandon properties and the rumukro of p.h. a Google search of the battle of Oshogbo should cure your gross ignorance.
I actually hate to generalize ethnic groups, but actual interactions with Yoruba tells me otherwise...
even looking at history and seeing the way Ilorin was lost to the Fulanis leaves much to be desired...
The recent situation are several Yoruba generals were on their knees weeping like girls and begging far junior officers make thing even worse..
At the heat of the July 1966 coup, it is on record that senior Yoruba generals who could have had a say melted like jelly..

With all these and more mounting evidences, i believe the facts speck for themselves..
