That's just it; they had to use them as scape goats to serve as deterrents to any soldier(s) that may want to carry out mutiny in the future. It was reported then that they almost lynched the general back then & that they even shot at his vehicle as he was spirited away. Thank God sha that the death sentence served them initially was reversed. Too bad corruption in Naija doesn't get punished bythe death sentence so that the benefactors of the loot from Dasukigate...

Military is the same everywhere?

So American army high command will embezzle funds meant for prosecution of a war and ask their rank and file to go and get slaughtered in war like chickens??

Never mind, when you are eventually commissioned and sent abroad for courses, perhaps you will understand that civilised and advanced military are not run the way Naija military is being run.

I wish you the very best in your supposed noble profession.
Thank u sir

Do you know there were complaints of sabotage by moles within the military hierarchy and lack of enough ammunitions to prosecute the war at the height of Bh insurgency huh

There was a particular case of ambush that led to the death of some fine officers with accusations that the victims were betrayed by senior officers that probably gave out coordinates of their location to BH members.

These I consider to be betrayal which partly resulted to mutiny by those soldiers.

However I am not advocating disloyalty within the military but when one juxtaposed those situations you'll realise they are humans too.
U have a point sir.

And what about their greedy and possessed superiors that embezzled funds meant to procure arms to fight the Boko elements? What should happen to those ones?

In the advanced countries, you could point blank disobey an order by your superior if you feel his orders directly put you in line of danger. Naija is just backward in all spheres of our lives. You gave fellow humans like you, who have friends and loved ones like you, toy guns to go fight book haram and you expect them to be singing shakiti Bobo?

Fela of blessed memory was right after all by referring to military personnel as ZOMBIES.

Agreed they signed for the job and went against the rules but it's just saddening that despite their efforts to keep the country safe they had to pay a steep price for the betrayal by their senior officers.

I wish them best of luck if any.
Betrayal in what sense. Bros we have a chain of command in the military. And to me they betrayed the oath they took. Orders might be grievous infact many a time they might give u order that seem like its not acheivable, still u hv to try ur best and do your part. They were not betrayed, instead they betrayed their uniform left to me.

It is very very dangerous to spare a mutiny soldier. Those guys shud have been executed
Lolzzz they are still our brothers now. As for me I dnt for any reason support killing. The only set of people who deserves been shot are the bad guys (insurgents, politicians etc)

But one tin pple here on nairaland didn't really know and won't care to know is. Those soldiers stepped over their lines. Their ranks z within lcpl and sergeants. And yet you directly refused the order of a whole GENERAL. 1 star or 2 star I dnt care. Their are ways to disobey orders dat won't arose mutiny or so. Even here where I am when 3rd termals give me job to serve they won't care how I do it even though they know the job z negative. Yet u must just find a way of doing it.

I pray for the soldiers sha. And I believe God will revist them but even buhari can't release a mutiny case. He z a retired General himself and he knows how grievous the offense z. And if dz guys are released it will trigger many more indiscipline in the military.

Mutiny is a serious offence within the military but in the light events leading to their rebellion i hope the govt considers their plea for pardon.
Am not sure they can reconsider. Seriously d guy who was interviewed only said his own part. He didn't include the part where they refused the order of a General point blank and if its the case I. Heard of then I think they wanted to lynch the general just because they saw their friends body in other unit after been hit by insurgents. The truth z they signed for the job they know the rules before they decided to act in an estraged manner I didn't know what saved them sef from firing squad. Because peak of indiscipline and one of the graetest offence in d military. Anyway am not condemning them sha who am I to but................................ M not sure they can leave their new cage so easily sha

Christianity EtcThe Mystery Called THITHING. Is It Necessary? by greatbrian(op): 11:42am On Jul 16, 2016
Good day people and God bless you all.
The issue about tithing and offering is a very big one especially tithing. A lot of christians believe so much in it and many more believes its just an old testament thing which is not even a commandment.

I was kind of curious about it too and I guess God saw my heart and sent calvary to me about this issue. I was with an officer in the MRS after I injured my leg during the cause of training and while awaiting the xray result, I met an officer who sees me as a little him and z a man I respect his views so much when it comes to religion and christianity most especially.

I asked me about the mystery called tithe and offering and the truth is he had nothing more to tell me after quoting the book of malachi which all pastors does. Anyway am not here to change peoples view about tithing. But I need to explain something to a lot of people who knows little or nothing about it and just sees it as LETS DO IT BECAUSE PEOPLE DOES IT.

My curiosity led to to do many research about dz issue for months and I will paste below what I got about the mystery.

Please for the pastors in the house, tell me if am wrong.
Now let's journey thru this together and I adjourn you to get your bible in place so as to see and prove my points.

Question: "What does the Bible say about Christian tithing? Should a Christian tithe?"

Answer: Many Christians struggle with the issue of tithing. In some churches giving is over-emphasized. At the same time, many Christians refuse to submit to the biblical exhortations about making offerings to the Lord. Tithing/giving is intended to be a joy and a blessing. Sadly, that is sometimes not the case in the church today.

Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised to the tabernacle/temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5). In fact, the Old Testament Law required multiple tithes—one for the Levites, one for the use of the temple and the feasts, and one for the poor of the land—which would have pushed the total to around 23.3 percent. Some understand the Old Testament tithe as a method of taxation to provide for the needs of the priests and Levites in the sacrificial system.

The New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends, that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Some in the Christian church have taken the 10 percent figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving.

The New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in the matter of participating in tithing and/or how much to give (James 1:5). Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
