This is Akinwunmi Adesina, the president of the African Development Bank and former Minister of Agriculture.
Remember his last visit to Aso Rock. That speaks volumes!

I knew this before seeking the form A. I have been paying tuition fees for loved ones with my Pounds card for a long time. Just wanted to try this option as it will be far cheaper.
Thanks for your input
uulove:

Since you are in the UK, you may want to get the University's account number and sort code and just transfer the tuition fee to the school's account. Pretty straightforward.

Hello friends. Pardon the forthcoming ignorance in my question (I'm a specialist doctor with the NHS in UK and so obviously, my pathway to relocation was totally different smiley)
How do I complete my brother's tuition fees (he was just granted visa for his postgraduate programme in Northumbria University, Newcastle) using the Form A? Never done it.
Many thanks in advance

And there is no refund? Check the cancellation policy of your ticket
I have checked it. Almost half of my ticket fee will be gone if I cancel it myself

Why subjecting yourself through such stress since the Nigeria airspace is open. Kindly contact the airline and change your route to Lagos, or cancel the ticket (airline) if it's not among those approved.
Unfortunately, I booked the flight using Brussels Airlines which doesn't operate in Nigeria

I believe you are travelled through Cotonou finally.
Please, I'm trying to travel through Lagos to Cotonou to UK. And I have never been to Cotonou before. I have booked my flight since July.
They said I need to be there 72 hours within departure to do the Covid-19 test. But is it possible to come there on the morning of my departure date and pay them? Since I will be flying at night (9:45pm on 8th September). I have a lot to do here in Nigeria and can't waste unnecessary days there. I can even get a Covid-19 test in Lagos to aid things.
Thanks

PLEASE WHO HAS FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE ABOUT THIS? I DON'T WANT TO WASTE DAYS IN COTONOU

Lovely thread. Very informative, educative and entertaining. Cosmos in Coventry closed down couple of months ago. It was my favourite restaurant. I reside in Coventry too, doing a PhD in the University, but I am presently on exhange program to China. I will be back to Coventry in two weeks time. I wish we could connect. I worked with Lime recruits during my masters days in Coventry too. What an experience!.
Correct man. Let's connect. I am a doctor in Shrewsbury, UK My Whatsapp is in my signature

Pls guys I just want to ask, havs anyone used ohentpay before? Are they reliable.? Thanks
Yes they are. They offer better exchange rate than Azimo, no charges for the first two transfers using their mobile app. And also a £10 commission for referring one. That's what I use in sending money back to Nigeria when I feel like after NHS smiles at me.

Thanks. However, there are agencies that help to recruit professionals, including medical doctors, those were the agencies I was asking for. Cheers.
Yeah. There are agencies who recruit but that's usually after U have done your own homework (for my profession, U have to pass IELTS and PLAB 1 & 2 exams, then apply for registration with the UK medical council). I got my job myself after applying through the NHS Jobs website and having interviews on Skype while in Nigeria. Some colleagues got through agents (some who make empty promises). Different strikes for different folks, mate

So them de give parking ticket for naija? cheesy
Anyway, I don't think you have anything to worry about in that regard. Not sure but I think I've come across a statement somewhere that excludes traffic offences. But even if traffic offences are not exempted I wouldn't mention it in my application or when I go to apply for a criminal record certificate at alagbon.
Once you pay it 7k at alagbon you get your criminal record certificate and case closed. That is our naija for you.
I was amazed how fast my criminal record certificate was processed, even had to ask myself if it was authentic. Don't think those guys check anything. They just collect money and give you the thing.
LOL. U are right. The flexibility of the Nigerian system is what I miss here. Even in my doctors' quarters here, U need to pay monthly for a parking ticket for your car. U pay for everything

Sorry, mate. I'm a medical doctor and my route to working in UK is specific as a professional. Don't know about others. Depending on your situation, U can try a Masters. Good luck

How do U guys even cope here? Just one month of work in this hospital in Shrewsbury (West Midlands where there are lots of natives) and I'm freaking bored. Would have been better if I was in London. No one should tell me to go to church pls. Lol.
Anyone around? Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Coventry, Wolverhampton? U are all welcome

TLS is just a financial associate of UKVI and interviews only for student visas. My certificate of sponsorship was sent to me by my hospital in UK and that is what I applied with, alongside my Police Clearance certificate, TB-free Certificate and IELTS certificate

My POE at Heathrow was very exhaustive and drilling but thanks to this blog I was very ready.
My first mistake was saying I was staying 2 weeks in my landing card but yet booked hotel for 7days as that was my initial plan. He was looking for a loophole and wen he saw one. He held to it. At one point asked for medical insurance.

These guys are strict and will also want to provoke you. And will ask you same questions repeatedly. Even at one time told me he was sending us back to Nigeria.

I told him I will seek legal redress cos I didn’t breach any rules. He took us to the open place and then after 5 minutes came and let us go.

But in all. We had fun and are heading back to Nigeria(home) today .

Thank you to justwise, ogehumphries and all.
Heathrow has always been know to be stern-looking and extremely strict. Especially to Nigerians. U need to witness the scrutinh firsthand
Manchester didn't pose any hassle to me when I went in March. And doesn't give issues as regards point of entry. Just for the records

Good morning house
Please I'm disturbed about my application.
I intend applying soon for a medical exam but being single, no travel history, no landed property plus the fact I'm the one sponsoring myself is getting me really scared.

I've attached birth certificates of my kid brothers, letter from my mother stating she's aware of my trip. I'll also attached bank statement, employment letter, etc. I have enough money to cover my trip but I know that's not the only thing they take into consideration.

I'm just worried about this ties back home. Please house what else can I add? Thanks
I was in a similar state as you this time last year. But in addition to what U attached, I added a family picture and letter from both parents. And my passport was deflowered. Just collected my Tier-2 (Work) visa yesterday.
Anyway, every application is unique in its circumstances

Plz who knows the best serum/oil plus a whitening shower gel? I used to be really fair and white but I have been doing field work (under the sun) for the past 8months and I've really getting dark.

Who can recommend good lotion, serum and soap pls.
I have been using fair and white so white package for a month now but it seems there isn't any difference.
Thanks in anticipation
Start by exfoliating with Asantee Papaya soap for w weeks. Then, U can introduce a lotion based on your budget. I advise and encourage natural stuffs as against the quick effect of Hydroquinone and Mercury-containing products (cos they tell on the skin in future). QEI+ Oriental lotion and serum are OK but kinda costly

Aside SAP (Sun Avoidance & Protection), U can get Coppertone or Aveeno sun blocks. They leave little to no casts

What's the best dark spot remover I can use for my body I don't want lighting or bleach my skin I just want the scars and dark spot to remove
It's on your trunk. U can get any product with Lactic or Glycolic acid or any fruit acid. Asantee Tumeric-Ginger Scrub will work in this case.
If on the face, Retin-A gel or cream will suffice
