Religion / 10 Reasons Why Sex Should Wait Till Marriage by Gregdcutie(m): 7:47am On Sep 04, 2013 |
1.Sex is a powerful force that can destroy ifnot used properly. Like atomic power, sexis the most powerful creative force given to man. When atomic power is used correctly it can create boundless energy; when it is used in the wrong way it destroys life. Sex is the same kind of powerful force. Sex is a gift from God to give us the greatest pleasure, to help in creating a deep companionship with one's spouse and for procreation of the next generation. But if you play with this powerful force outside the bounds of marriage, it destroys you and those close to you. 2.Sexual activity for young people arrests their psychological, social and academic development. Studies show that when young people engage in premarital sex, their academic performance declines and their social relationships with family and friends deteriorate. This is because adolescents are too immature to deal with the explosive sex drive and it tends to dominate their life. 3.The majority of women cannot enjoy sex outside of the bonds of marriage. The development of a fulfilling sex life needs the security and peace of the marriage bond. Premarital sex usually takes place sneaking around in hidden places dealing with the fear of being caught, the fear ofpregnancy and feelings of guilt. All these (worrisome) factors undermine pleasure in premarital sex, most especially for women. 4.Virginity is to be given to the most important person in your life, the person you committed yourself to stay with forever in marriage. Your virginity is the most precious thing you have to give to your spouse. Once you lose it, nothing in the world can bring it back. Don't lose something so precious in a thoughtless way. 5.Those who engage in premarital sex run ahigh risk of contracting one of the many venereal diseases rampant today, as well as losing their fertility. Not just AIDS, butother common disfiguring diseases like herpes have no cure. 6.Some venereal diseases have no symptoms and many couples discover many years later that they became infertile because of these diseases. Infertility experts estimate that 80% of today's infertility is due to venereal diseases contracted before they married. 7.The best and only method that guarantees 100% against AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases is to wait for marriage to have sex and maintain fidelity in your marriage. 8.Premarital sex breaks the 10 Commandments given by God. The 10 Commandments are given to man by Godto make man happy. They are not outdated and they are not restrictive. If we follow these laws, we can create happyand prosperous lives. If we don't follow them, we will pay a heavy price in divorce, disease, abortions, illegitimate children and loneliness. Modern men make a big mistake when they think that they can break these eternal laws and not suffer consequences. 9.Premarital sex runs the risk of conceivingillegitimate children. Numerous scientific studies show that the children of single mothers suffer psychologically and are less successful socially and academically than children from intact families. Above all, children need both their father and their mother. It is wrong to risk having children who will never have their father's love, protection and care. 10.If you date and you don't have sex, you can forget about that relationship whenyou stop dating. But if you have sex with those you date and then break up, the nature of sexual involvement creates strong, often unpleasant memories for your whole life. Every relationship you break up where you had intimate relations is like a mini-divorce. The psychological difficulties of these mini-divorces does damage to your character. Later, when you are married and go to bed with your beloved spouse, these unpleasant memories will accompany you. True love waits. If a boy or girl truly loves you, they will want the best for you. They will not want you to suffer fear of disease, unwanted pregnancy and the psychological difficulties of premarital sex. They will want to experience love with you only in the very best place of all - the love nest of marriage. |

Bludeville: Maybe y'all didn't research properly about "internship" or you weren't properly educated. You are not allowed to participate in any form of withdrawal of services, demonstration, etc. Your aim of being a house officer/intern is primarily to LEARN. Tadpoles and you are already demonstrating. When you become full frogs only God knows what would happen. As interns we faced a period of four months before we got our salary, did we demonstrate? No. We only assigned representatives to dialogue with the administration while we patiently waited, and in the end we got our salary in bulk. Maybe you don't understand but your period of internship is supposed to be one year of uninterrupted service. The fact that you get paid is a privilege, treat it as such. Stop making noise and get back to work. And get representatives to dialogue properly to get the issue resolved. sweet@:not that I dispute the fact about the learning...ish. House officers are to be paid and paid promptly too because they actually do the most chunk of the job at the hospital |

Medical and Pharmacy Interns of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) are protesting the non- payment of their salaries for at least 3 months, some for longer. These house officers and interns are the first line doctors, they are the first to see the patients, first to get to work and last to leave, and for the past three months they have not been paid. Not fair! The relevant authorities should please address this issue before the situation escalates. |

Education / Nigerian Students (nans) Give ASUU And Fg 7days Ultimatum by Gregdcutie(m): 1:56pm On Sep 02, 2013 |
Peeved by almost two-month old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), yesterday issued a one-week ultimatum to the Federal Government and the union’s leadership to resolve their differences or face serious consequences. The students said if the impasse was not resolved within the next seven days, it will mobilise students on a nation-wide riot in what it described as ‘operation occupy Nigeria’. The students’ body appealed to ASUU to return to the classroom and continue negotiation with the Federal Government since the latter claimed to have released over N100 billion for infrastructural development and another N30 billion for allowances. This was the highpoint of a protest by the students who blocked the Asaba end of the River Niger Bridge to press home their demands. The protest caused traffic snarl for several hours as the students stalled movements to the eastern part of the country even as those returning were barred. NANS coordinator in the South-South and South-East, Comrade Chinonso Obasi, stated that students were at the receiving end of the strike and vowed that they would take their destinies in their own hands if the parties failed to reconcile within a week. “We are appealing to ASUU that since the Federal Government has been able to release N100 billion for infrastructural development and N30 billion for allowance, they should go back to classroom and continue their negotiation or agitation. This is our prayer and wish. “We are giving them one week to open the schools or be ready to face corrosive consequences in form of nation-wide demonstration and riots. We are ready to mobilise for that and it will be operation occupy Nigeria,” he said. Lamenting the effect of the strike, Obasi said students have become prone to accidents on the highways and the female students have been reduced to sex hawkers on the streets. His words: “I stand to tell you that a lot of accidents have been recorded and 99.9% of the victims are Nigerian students. If they were in classrooms, they would not have fallen victims of road crashes. “Our female students have become commercial sex hawkers on the streets in order to make ends meet. This colossal effect is more than what ASUU is agitating for. Hence, we can no longer fold our arms and watch things go wrong.” .ur thoughts |

FreeGlobe: This nonsense cannot staand. The yoruba govs should only implement this law in their cave states. We are not interested but Lagos a cosmopolitan state belonging to Nigerians and built with Nigeria money at the detriment of other states must not be part of it. I know this law is being propagated with Lagos in mind but they have failed because this illiteracy is already being practiced in all Yoruba states. 75% Yorubas living in Yoruba states cannot speak, communicate or understand English nor pidgin. Lagos is not Yorubaland, it is just South West. The FG bought Lagos and it belongs to Nigerians.thank God another person shares my sentiments. And instead of people tabling their facts to defend their side of the divide they resort to insults . |

Politics / What Dream Do You Have For Nigeria by Gregdcutie(m): 9:16am On Sep 02, 2013 |
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ I have dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.” - Martin Luther King Jr Dr. King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech that took place 50 years ago on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. American clergyman and activist Martin Luther King, Jr. on August 28, 1963, called for an end to racism in the United States. Delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, the speech was a defining moment of the American Civil Rights Movement. WHAT DREAM DO YOU HAVE FOR NIGERIA?

Orlando Owoh: Why do Igbo people get angry at any move made by the South West, especially Lagos State? What has happened ever since Igbo people started compelling bishops in Catholic churches in Yorubaland dominated by the Igbo to use Igbo to conduct services?Get ur facts right, it happens even in the anglican church. Its just specific services that are conducted in indigeneous languages |

English is the closest thing to a lingua franca around the world as roughly 700 million people speak it. The United kingdom’s comprise the English, the Scots, the Welsh and Irish but the English language is the lingua Franca of the kingdom. Even France which prides itself for its linguistic integrity have conceded that English as a number one. It is the dominant language in general education, technology, electronics, and advertising in radio, medicine and international business. Why then can’t Nigeria adopt English as a lingua franca and stop the expensive bogey of cultural wazobianization? To what extent will an indigenous lingua franca be relevant to scientific education? English is the basis of our federal unity. 1 Like |
