Monaco have completed the signing of Feyenoord defender Terence Kongolo, perhaps paving the way for Benjamin Mendy's move to Manchester City.

Damian was also good in serie a, he made team of the season twice consecutively before coming to epl, but not all man utd fans are impresssed with what he has done in manchester. May be my expectation of him was too high, but there are stuffs you look for in a world-class defender, that i cant find in rudiger. A 40m central defender should be very firm on the ground, buzzing with confidence. We need players who can compete with the bests in europe. If we are spending 40m on this guy, then we are idiots. Dayo is just waiting for chelsea to make that mistake and come back and mock us when we start regreting the wastage. I can list 10 central defenders that i will be more comfortable with, than this guy in epl. Everything is not gbagbagbugbu in defence. There were moments in the game, he would just clear the ball, gboa, like ''throw-in is better'' type of defenders that fill naija boy's clubs. Putting more pressure on his team, when his confidence should have made him to guard the ball and kick it to more comfortable areas. He has a useless vargas to thank for not making him to quake. Most of us dont just want another defender, we want defenders who can compete with the likes of ramos, bonucci, hummels and co. I will even put bailey above this dude. Roma will be so happy to keep manolas and sell rudiger at 40m, knowing that he is also prone to injuries.
Brother all these ones na still on what you saw in one game.

Jose Mourinho is not a happy man, according to the Sun, which reports that he's "frustrated by Manchester United's lack of activity in the transfer market."

The struggle is real. Clubs are reluctant to lose their prized assets hence the inactivity in this summer's transfer window.

Imagine Monaco quoting 100milla for Mbappe. Lacazette valued at 50milla. Lukaku 80milla. Morata at 70milla.

Is this just madness?

Well, it's often said that the best things in life come free. So I say, go for Ibrahimovic, Pepe and JT.

Did you just say MAZACAR was a failure? huh
1. Crashed out in the group stage of the UCL
2. Finished third in the League
3. Runners-up in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup
4. Crashed out in the Semi-finals of the FA Cup
5. Crashed out in the Semi-finals of the League Cup
6. FA Community Shield runners-up

The only compensation was an Europa League Cup.

Like I said earlier, it wasn't just about MAZACAR, the team had structural defects but then again, MAZACAR didn't do enough.

But doesn't this contradict Roman's vision for the club which is for us to play good attacking football?
Football ain't spices, Roman doesn't understand that. He is no football person, he is just a fantasist.

We have tried the tiki-taka with MAZACAR but failed woefully with it, albeit there was a structural defect in the team then. So why try again?

I am not seeing us going too ugly next term though, Conte has shown that he's capable of turning any side into a football juggernaut by striking the right balance between defence and attack, ugly and pretty.

I like Rudiger signing. He is strong, fast, good positionally and can play a long pass to the striker well.
Speak no more sire, this is just the major reason.

With Bakayoko joining, I honestly would expect our team technique to go weak in sustaining possession passing. So the idea would be to stay compact, get to soak the pressure, find the attackers with the long ball and let them smash the damn net!

We are building a team that's going to be difficult to beat both in England and Europe.

Back with the blacks.

Remember Chelsea of yore?

Babayaro - Sandro
Essien - Bakayoko
Gallas - Rudiger
Makelele - Kante
Drogba - Lukaku

That's how we roll.

Griffon:
According to our chief scout, Roman will be backing Conte with unlimited transfer funds. That's in other words, an open cheque.

If that inference is anything to go by, then I say go re-sign Rudiger from Roma. If it would be difficult to actualize, then I say bring on Bonucci. Make the acquisition of two CMs a priority - a promising one that would serve a need in the future - Ajax's Bazoer or Anderlecht's Tielemann, then an established one that would help save us now - Roma's Naingollan or Leicester's N'kante. Then we'd also need a forward who knows where the goals are - Griezmann or Lukaku. Gentlemen can we swap Rahman for home-grown Cresswell? I wouldn't mind having that transfer.

Transfer In: Rudiger/Bonucci, Naingollan/Kante, Bazoer/Tielemann, Griezmann/Lukaku, Cresswell.

Transfer Out: Cahill, Rahman, Mikel, Oscar, Remy, Pato.

First XI:

Courtois

Azpilicueta Zouma Rudiger/Bonucci Cresswell

Fabregas(c) Naingollan/Kante Matic

Willian Costa/Griezmann/Lukaku Hazard

Second XI:

Begovic

Ivanovic Cristensen JT(c) Ake

Loftus-Cheek Bazoer/Tielemann Baker

Pedro Traore Kennedy

Alternate Formation: 4-2-2-2

Courtois

Ivanovic Zouma Rudiger/Bonucci Azpilicueta

Naingollan/Kante Matic

Willian Hazard

Griezmann/Lukaku Costa

The mentality of our current squad is weak, and can't stay mentally alert for a consistent level. Competition is needed to bring out that drive n' keep them fighting to prove a point every game. That's the only way we can challenge next term.

We wouldn't have any European game to honor, so fixture congestion isn't going to be a worry. A 25-man squad that's well managed can win us the league and the FA Cup.

I'd love to read your views too.

Why all the fuss over Ake?

In my 13 good years as a fan of this club, I have seen way crazier decisions get taken. When we were comfortable with having average bomboclats like Boulahrouz, Ben Haim, Pizzaro, Wright-Philips, Sidwell, Sinclair, Ramires etc on our payroll, na who die?

Na who die when we were forced to part ways with prospects like Sturridge, Lukaku, Hutchinson, KDB etc?

Ake's deal has even got an icing on it, we have a buy-back option, so what's the fuss all about?

This is Chelsea, we are no strangers to any fvcking thing. I am only concerned about the signings now nothing more. Even if we lose Hazard today, that same silly board would find a way to soothe us with Sanchez or Neymar. We are Chelsea, we are like that.

Mentions:
matic is a lost cause, he lacks pace and couldn't command our midfield, if Snubunited can pay the 40million, will would collect it and never look back, ask mata he will give you updates.
Look I am not against Chelsea selling Matic, what I am against is selling him to a direct rival.

That would be the most self-destructive decision we'd be making in a long time.

Yes, he couldn't command our midfield but he's definitely linking up with the same man who let out the beast in him three seasons ago. If Jose could mould a light-weight Herrera into manyoo's midfield lynchpin, how much more Matic who only needs a little fine tuning?

This is us strengthening the scummies and enhancing their title chances, but NO, you all are blind to that fact because Matic is slow and blahs.

Diggz I think you have to consider couple of factors which are in play here.

Firstly, with billionaires taking control of clubs every day, it's nearly difficult to get a good player for a bargain fee. No sane businessman would love to lose his most prized asset to another rich businessman hence the over-inflated valuation of some players. It's even more difficult to compete with most teams in the market lately. Gone are the days when 25milla can afford you a solid defender or 35m getting you a prolific franchise striker. These figures are now being quoted by the likes of Hull, Partizan, Ajax et al not super rich teams like Chelsea who are in the market for dependable legs.

Another factor that contributes to the over-inflation of the transfer market is the buying club’s circumstances. For instance, we know Alonso isn't up there with the best LBs in the world in terms of being defensively solid. With that in mind, we now have a pressing need to get a solid LB ahead of next season. This circumstance we're in would definitely push us into spending over the bar for any identified LB target. So no surprises there if we fork out 60milla for Sandro. Same circumstance applies with Cahill hence the need to splash out on Van Dijk.

But even more serious than these circumstances is the pressing need to get a franchise striker, now that we know Costa is leaving. You don't have to blame the club if they fork out 80milla for a certain Lukaku, they have a pressing need to get a top forward.

The greater the competition, the higher the price. The higher the demand, the higher the price.
