@uchkochi
Thank you. Your write up will surely reach one or two people out there. Pls keep it up.

By the way, are you proferring these solutions out of experience, or are you simply preaching?

Many who have found themselves in the situation will say that they have tried what you are saying but it hasnt worked for them for any considerable length of time.

@Rev2Bit

I do believe that you were not Bloviating about your qualification and the number of times you have gone through your bible.
I also believe that you know that revelation does not come from the number of time you read it. I merely politely suggested that you read your bible and the Holy Spirit may show you a nugget of truth to cememnt your hypothesis. I sense that you read me otherwise. No offence meant brother.

Around when I gave my life to Christ, I pondered the significance of the various christian holidays; Easter & Christmas. I have also found that calling it by passover, eoshter, Winter solstice, etc whatever name should no longer make much difference, as the scripture says, 'as long as Christ is preached' or in this case since Christ is celebrated, it does not matter much to me what the original intent was.

My reason is this, I have reads that Sunday was originally intended as aday of worship to the sun god, which suggests that many christians may not be truly keeping holy the sabbath as commanded by God. Hence, if Easter, Christmas and even Sundays are all wrong, where then do we draw the line? I say this again; as long as Christ is preached and celebrated, then Ourlord owns precedes and supercedes all others concerning all those days.

Hence I no longer have issues wishing people Happy easter, afterall, as a non-jew, I am not really celebrating the passover. Rather I am celebrating the resurrection of the Living God. In todays language; Easter. (Pls see any dictionary for the definition , and meaning of easter sunday.)

defn:
. an annual Christian festival in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, observed on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox, as calculated according to tables based in Western churches on the Gregorian calendar and in Orthodox churches on the Julian calendar.

So Happy Easter, Passover, ressurection Sunday, My Brother.

@Rev2Bit,
You may have put nearly everyone to sleep.

Good thing you inserted the disclaimer before your postulation that these ideas were your personal opinion and cannot be backed by scripture.
So this means that it may not be of God. And we know that anything that is not of God is,

However, if you study your scripture some more, the Holy spirit may reveal to you or through you, a nugget of truth, which may yet prove your hypothesis.
I do doubt that may happen because attributing 99.9999% to God is simpply not good enough. I personally will stop serving Him if I found this to be the case.

I need a God who is 100% in control 100% of the time.
Happy Easter to you Brother.

Rev2,
Dont worry, you are not alone in your thinking re: freewill v Omniscience.

However, if you understand that knowing all things is quite different from causing all things to occur are two distinct separate things.

If God is the Omega as you rightly stated, then you must understand that he is already there at the end, so he knew what you were going to do before you did it (different from being the cause of your decision).

Its kind of like seeing the end of a movie, then rewinding back to the start and watch events unfold just as you had previously seen it.

I understand that one may argue that, with freewill, man can change the decisions several times after God had see the plot. I would say that God watched all the various changes of mind (read: backslides, sin, Faith, hypocrisy, salvation, etc), and most importantly God saw tha very last decision you were to make concerning any issue.
Religion / Re: Is God Really Omniscient (All-Knowing)? by Grouppoint(m): 5:28pm On Mar 20, 2008
@Rev2Bit

My main issue was that if we get to the other side of eternity, would we also become omniscient, since we would no longer be bound by time?

Also, since would no longer suffer death, would we be omnipotent?

, [quote author=Rev2bit

I think God does not know with 100% accuracy the outcome of the (our) universe, only the probabilities to a exceedingly high degree! (ducks)….cya ‘mate‘…

Rev2, Good thing you ducked, the missiles were ballistic, even the atheists will disagree with you on this seemingly sacrilegious statment.

Would you humour me by expatiating your thesis?

by the way, Welcome to the best forum on the internet,
Religion / Re: Is God Really Omniscient (All-Knowing)? by Grouppoint(m): 2:54pm On Mar 20, 2008
@rev2Bit,
Dont worry, you may just have redeemed yourself from the apellation of one who bloviates.

But tell me, why would God tell us things on this earth that we are incapable of understanding until we get to heaven?

Saying this, if heaven is eternity i.e. outside of time, then would we all not become omniscient, seeing that time is really the difference between God and man.
i.e. God knows our end from our begining, since He is already there at the end.

Please ensure that your replies remain pithy.
Religion / Re: Is God Really Omniscient (All-Knowing)? by Grouppoint(m): 1:55pm On Mar 20, 2008
@rev2bit,
Your answer does not state whether you beleive that God is Omniscient or not.

100% perfect is still not the same as Omiscient.

So feel free to clarify, else you shall be accused of bloviating.

Finally, why do you not preach? Did Christ not preach, and command us to preach.

God is Omniscient. We just dont know Him well enough, yet.
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by Grouppoint(m): 12:14pm On Mar 19, 2008
Well Donnie and Kola Oloye seem to think that the pastor is the one that will consecrate their wedding.
From their knowledge of the word, I would have expected them to be in a position to do the job by themselves.

I love my Pastor, but in my marriage, everyone except God is a guest.
If they cant make it on the wedding day, the show must still go on.

Why is it that as Christians we pick and choose when it comes to obeying God's commandments?

An example of such blatant disobedience may be found in the area of Tattoos, Body Piercings.
Religion / Re: The Biblical Descent Of Man by Grouppoint(m): 11:07am On Mar 18, 2008
@TPaine,
Whilst your assertions may be true, how does that refute the claim that Africans came from Ham? Quite possibly, the Aborigines and Indians also came from Ham.

Also, this does not prove that Ham himself was white or black. It just means that whatever colour pigmentation they possesed was gradually gained or lost as a result of environmental factors.

I believe that your question is aimed at proving who existed first: White or Black?
Am I correct?
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by Grouppoint(m): 7:31pm On Mar 14, 2008
Flowers212:

No, Traditional Marriage has nothing to do with the church or Christ. For any pastor to go to a traditonal marraige to bless it is a disgrace.
Everyone must go to Chruch in the present of God and his children and be blessed either by a man or woman of God
Pls show in your bible where it says everyone must go to Church before they can be married in the eyes of God.

It is not proper to denigrate atheists by calling them mumu. My own experience is that God is. God is not relegated to myths and legends as some atheists may assert. God, the creator of the Universe is. It is only that atheists have not yet experienced him.

Very correct. This is my exact position on the subject.

The problem is that God is not obliged to prove himself to anyone, not especially an atheist.
The atheist will need to subject himself to a dose of faith, humility, and hope, in order to experience the being called GOD.
Religion / Re: Please Answer This! by Grouppoint(m): 1:25pm On Mar 14, 2008
first off, 'Mumu means fool', so the poster should be careful, because Christ has stated the destination of anyone who calls another a fool.

We are also waiting for them to prove that God does not exist.

They have dodged this proof for weeks on end ---- but the issue is still waiting for them.

Imhotep, The burden of proof lies with you, since you say God exists, you need to show Him.
The person who says he does not exist, says so because he has not seen, felt or experienced God.

sweetheart, I still fail to see what the 5-fold ministry has to do with joining yourself to a woman that God has destined for you.

You assert that it is a calling or function for a Man of God to officiate a wedding. Why dont you show it in Scripture?
Until then, please accept that it is simply oyinbo tradition.

Even the ring that you are made to wear, have you considered the tradition behind this? Before you call our traditional weddings places filled with ritualists and drunkards, you need to also research that traditions that you have accpeted.

Trust me buddy, I am not deceiving myself.

@KOLA OLOYE

Should you not be the 'Man of God' unto your wife?
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by Grouppoint(m): 4:48pm On Mar 13, 2008
@ Kola oloye,

Kindly show me where God insists that my relationship with my wife cannot be recognised and further strengthened unless their is a seasoned man of God involved.

Please dont overrate this 'man of God' notion. Dont you know that you too are a man of God?

The sad thing is that many of our pastors continuously preach to us our rights and our authority that we have through Christ Jesus, yet many of us inssist on holding on to their Pastor's aprons

God says the man is the head of the home, and Christ is the head of the man, I dont see no 'Man of God' in there.

fyi. I am a 'xtian', and there is indeed fire on my mountain, the Holy Spirit fire. cool
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by Grouppoint(m): 3:32pm On Mar 13, 2008
@Donnie,
Marriage is a union between Man, woman and God.

Pastors and Church mambers are simply guests. They do not have to be present at this sacred union.
White weddings and Traditional weddings are all traditions of men.
(after all Christ himself turned water to wine at one such events).

By the way, was that a white wedding, or was it a traditional wedding held at Cana?

You speak by the spirit, but you also need to listen to the Spirit.

We cannot simply discard our traditions and blindly embrace the white man's tradition, because he has infused it with Christian notions.

Also, dont forget that their white weddings have gradually removed scriptural references such as 'honour and obey your husband' etc

Again, I say: Marriage is a union between Man, Woman and God.
Everyone else is excess luggage, whether desired or not is another issue.

JeSoul:

No I wouldn't call them unlucky. . .because what we see from a human point of view as an advantage might not necessarily be in God's sight and in God's plan for that life. Now I would consider myself tremendously blessed that I was born well off and have lived a good life - all by God's grace. But no, I wasn't lucky - just blessed!"

So you are simply substituting 'lucky' for blessed, This means the other person born into a poor family in Somalia, or Dafur in Sudan is simply Unblessed.

Hence some people are blessed through no effort of theirs while other are equally unblessed through no fault of theirs, do you agree?

Gods laws are perfect and it will never permit a person to experience what he or she has not sown. The harvest will not be different from the seed. Most often people have forgotten the seed they sowed, or decieved themselves into believing that the sowed a different kind of seed than the one they actually sowed.

Are you saying that a 3 year old child who gets hit by a car must have sown a bad seed before the accident. What about those born with disabilities? are you saying that in a past life, they must have sown a 'disabled' seed?
Religion / Re: Why Do Some Christians Not Believe In Luck? by Grouppoint(m): 3:11pm On Mar 11, 2008
Would you say that some people were lucky to have been born into a wealthy home, while others were unlucky to be born in poverty, or perhaps with disabilities.

What about the man who lived a good life, but sinned a few minutes before being killed by armed robbers. Would you not say he was unlucky?

And that other man who turned around for good at the age of 70, only to go to heaven after 69yrs of decandent sin and 1 month of righteousness. Wont you say he was lucky?
Religion / Re: Why Do Some Christians Not Believe In Luck? by Grouppoint(m): 1:45pm On Mar 11, 2008
The Dictionary defines luck thus:

good or bad fortune; advantage or disadvantage, success or failure, considered as the result of chance:

Also,

A combination of circumstances, events, etc., operating by chance to bring good or ill to a person.

So why cant I, as a Christian say 'I had some good fortune or good luck this month'?

Religion / Re: Hell Past, Hell Present; Which Do You Prefer? by Grouppoint(m): 5:06pm On Feb 22, 2008
Before Christ's work on the cross, all who died went to sheol or Hades.
Man could not be joined with God, until Christ had finished the work on the cross. after this point, all will be judged according to their life and decision on this side of eternity.

Just because mankind did not understand what was to come, does not in any way imply that hell was not real.
, Kind of like saying that if you do not teach your child about serial killers, then people like Ian Huntley will automatically become a myth.

Check your bible. It was revealed to mankind even in the Old Testament, but how could man understand that sort of thing, only Him who is, was and will be (Jesus) could clarify the true nature of the afterlife.

All you have addressed is the issue of Naira abuse ocassioned by trampling upon the notes while spraying.

I am stating that there is a greater evil occurring: Poor people are getting intimidated, and disillusioned by the showy and oppressive rich.
(Some of those rich sprayers have drivers outside who have not seen their wages for 3 months, yet the money spryed that evening probably equals 1 year's wages of the driver.)

When the driver 'organises' his oga, we'll be wondering why,
