Religion / Re: Melchisedec - Who Was This Man? by Grouppoint(m): 12:11pm On Jun 08, 2007
"made like unto the Son of God".
This confirms that Melchi was a type of Christ.

However, "Having no begining of days nor end of life", is a nature of divinity. This means that he is eternal.
Angels are also eternal, this does not make them God.

The question is, What did Paul say when he stated that Melchi had no begining nor end?
Was this divine revelation, or was Paul simply stating that scripture shewed only Melchi's appearing, and not his demise?
Religion / Re: Melchisedec - Who Was This Man? by Grouppoint(m): 12:16pm On Jun 07, 2007
Melchisedek was a type of Christ. In so much as Joseph was also a type of Christ.
This different from being a maifestation of God.

God, at several times in the bible, showed us a type of things to come. Just as Jonah in the belly of the whale for 3 days, or Joseph in the pit for 3 days.

If you draw the melchisedec Christ analogy, you will se how or whyMelchisedek was only a type of Christ.

Melchisedec was:
King of salem(or king of Peace) . Jesus is the (Prince of Peace)

Priest of the most High God. A priest is a mediator between God and Man. (Just like Christ is even today)

having no begining or end of days. (Eternal, everlasting) Just as Jesus

He gave Abraham bread and Wine. (Body and Blood) Just as Christ gave us his body and blood to partake.

He recieved tithe form Abraham. (Just as Christians pay their tithes to Christ through the church).

So you can see that he was a type of the things to come.

There are so many learned christains in the house. I perceive that there are many people who found this site and in so doing, found Christ.

If you are one, or know of someone who confessed Christ through a revelation from the words and exchanges on this forum, I'd like to read your testimony.
Business / Re: Uba Introduces Diaspora Share Loan Scheme by Grouppoint(m): 3:24pm On Jun 06, 2007
The gist of this is that you can open an NRN account with UBA, and then get them to finance your 'road to riches' stock acquisition on a 60/40% basis.

I have some old naira notes with me. Is it too late to use it? or can I still take it into a bank to exchange for new notes?
Romance / Re: Caught My Husband With His Mistress In Our Room by Grouppoint(m): 3:50pm On May 23, 2007
Do you love the guy? Does he love you?
If you do, then you need to talk things over.
Perhaps he took you for granted.
Perhaps, he doesnt enjoy sex with you.

Or perhaps, like many guys, he did it cos he could.

Do you have any children? Think about them also.
I can tell you that many Nigerian husbands are guilty of sleeping around, albeit in guest houses, hotels and friends homes.

So please think about the future before you start 'bidding good riddance to bad rubbish' etc.
Business / What Can You Do With Solar Power? by Grouppoint(m): 10:37am On May 23, 2007
Does anyone know of the current advancements in solar energy technology?

Can solar panels power TVs, Fridges, Air conditioners, and other home applainces?

How much can you expect to spend purchasing a solar panel that can carry home appliances?
Properties / Re: Prefab Buildings - Will It Sell? by Grouppoint(m): 3:48pm On May 22, 2007
I get the impression that the average Nigerian will prefer a solid 'Concrete structure' to a prefab build.
In the Uk, USA and many parts of Europe, houses have been built with timber framework. These can last considerably longer than our methods of building in Naija, but it seems the mentality will not go away.

Orikinla:

Igbos Own 73% of Property in Abuja

Are Igbos not greedy?
I know that Igbos would not mind to buy the whole of Nigeria.[/b]

Is it sheer ignorance on your part to ask or suggest that igbos are greedy because they own 73% of the land in Abuja. Did they not buy the land with money? Where you asleep when they were purchasing the land. pls wake up before they 'buy the whole of Nigeria' as you ignorantly put.
Instead of you to commend them for being insightful. At least they were not handed 73% of the federal parastatals by the white man in 1960.

Why are you multiplying by 9? Why not multiply by 10.
Isnt it a 10 yr mortgage plan?
Properties / Re: EXPLANATION NEEDED - 4-bedroom Semi Detached Duplex (18m) by Grouppoint(m): 3:19pm On May 21, 2007
The schedule is showing you what you would pay monthly i.e. N150,000.

Or n1.87m if you opted to pay the whole year's mortgage in one payment (one off). As you can see, they make it slightly cheaper if you can afford to pay your mortage once a year rather than monthly.
Properties / Prefab Buildings - Will It Sell? by Grouppoint(m): 12:34pm On May 21, 2007
I am thinking of building medium income homes using Prefabricated engineering technology.
The houses would be built much quicker and cheaper than the standard technique of onsite laying of bricks.

Is this a good idea in Nigeria?
Does anyone have any insight as to whether this method of construction would sell.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by Grouppoint(m): 1:17pm On May 17, 2007
Its really an issue with all faith based religions. Abraham nearly slaughtered his son because he had faith. Think about it. Imagine what would have become of us all, if he stood there arguing the concept and logic with God.

Finally, isnt it at all possible to dialogue without name calling. For the real christians on this site, it really is a sin, when you see an opportunity to save a 'lost' person, but you choose to condemn him instead.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by Grouppoint(m): 1:17pm On May 17, 2007
Muslims do this because their holy book instructs to do so.
There are very many things 'we' Christians do, simply because the bible says so.
Properties / What Can I Build On Banana Island? by Grouppoint(m): 10:13am On May 17, 2007
Are there any architects on this site, who are familiar with building restrictions in banana Island. I have a 2400sqm land, and I wish to build either:
1. A block of 12 flats
or
2 rows of 3 town houses = 6 houses.

In short, what can I build on Banana Island?
Religion / Re: O Worshippers Of The Messiah, We Have A Question, To Which We Want An Answer Fro by Grouppoint(m): 4:11pm On May 16, 2007
My Brother. Your write is rather entertaining.
However, as you delve deeper, you would easily miss the purpose of creation.

If you go back to the events at the garden of Eden, which I believe are similar records by the koran, bible and torah. You would understand the purpose of the redemption of mankind by Christ Jesus.
Jesus is God in flesh. He came to save us and also to show man the way. He did not come to prove that he was God by destroying his human detractors.

If your reasoning was right, then how do you explain all the evil taking place in the world whhereby the perpetrators seem to be getting richer and more powerful by the day, In that case, where is Allah?
Also, where is allah when USA is blowing up islamic nations?
God does not operate the way you assume. even Christ said, not my will, but thy will be done.
Again, Christ said, I came  to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish it. if that means getting nailed onthe cross, getting beaten and slapped by ordinary mortals, then so be it.
Personally, I am grateful that my God came in form of flesh, suffered and died, just so I can be rejoined with him when I die.

Crime / Re: Good or bad? by Grouppoint(m): 11:53am On Apr 17, 2007
Any criminal minded person will always find an excuse for his crimes.
If its not slave trade, it will be OBJ.

Sadly, the dude may never repent nor pay for his crimes.
Many have amassed the wealth, and converted it into legal crime aka politricks.

Mr Boca. Tell the truth, the main reason you are a confirmed Yahoo yahoo is because you are lazy, greedy, and sligtly ignorant.
Being Igbo, I am so ashamed of you, but yet I still love you.
Properties / Re: I Need Building Tips by Grouppoint(m): 11:00am On Apr 17, 2007
I've carried out similar projects as you are about to. i.e. building a house while you are based abroad.
Whilst it may be sensible to travel and visit the site several times during the project, it may be inconvenient or impractical.

So here's what I did: I bought a digital camera and sent to my brother on instruction that he'll email me weekly all updates.

So whether its tiles selection or foundation stage of the build, I had pictures and could decide if I wished to.

More importantly, you need to vet your builder, Architect and anyone ele on that project. You need to see what they've done in the past. And find out what the client has to say about them.

I got a builder to erect the structure (shell), then I paid more attention to the finishing myself, so I sourced windows, doors, kitchens, flooring, Sanitary ware, lighting by myself, or through reputable suppliers.

Always get at least 5 separate quotes for each piece of work before deciding.

Finally, a great many building projects end up in conflicts between client and contractor, so be tactful.

what a useless question!! Obviously God never makes mistakes!!! END TOPIC!!!

What a useless response!

There are millions of people who have experienced terrible things in life,
which make them doubt the omnipotence or omniscience of God. Is this the reply you have for them?

Take your signature for example, you cried when you had no shoes until you saw a man with no legs!
Do you think that the legless man is happy? Isnt it possible that the an may feel that God made a mistake in allowing him to have no legs.

tenhap:

Truth be told,
Try this:
Pay your tithe every month for a year, observe the status of your finances
Next do not pay at all for the very next year, observe the difference
I guess u would be in a better position to tell yourself the truth.

Many back home have paid tithe for 10 years, but their finances have gotten worse.

Your financial status is a combination of many factors, of which tithing or giving is a small part of. Otherwise, how can you explain Arab billionaires, Russian tycoons, American Magnates, who neither pay tithe nor really believe in the existence of the Most High God?

What is wrong with wanting to finish school before getting married?

Perhaps the dude wants to be in a position to know that he can fend for his family.

Perhaps he cannot see why you are in such a hurry. At 24, you should probably have your own career to worry about.

All in all, I think that if he loves you, he can give you an engagement ring, then plan for a wedding after he's education.
Religion / Re: Catholic Q&A Thread by Grouppoint(m): 5:49pm On Mar 19, 2007
I hope that this thread is still open.

Why has the church declared Mary the co-redemptrix along with Jesus? Does this not suggest that she redeemedus along with Christ?

Why is she regarded as Queen of Heaven? Doesnt this suggest that she is the wife of God the father?

Finally, I often wonder why the rosary would pray 10 times to Mary (hail mary), then once to God (our father). And then repeat the same thing again over and over.

Does this suggest that prayer through Mary are more potent than direct prayers?

You can buy shares in Energy companies.

Or do you want to register a trading firm and buy and sell petroleum products in Nigeria?

You'll need a trading licence, extra long legs and several trips to Transcorp hilton in Abuja.
Religion / Re: The Principle Of Ten Percent by Grouppoint(m): 12:58pm On Mar 14, 2007
We need to make a distinction here.

We are saved by grace through faith. Right? This is salvation. period.

Blessing is another thing. The laws I elaborated earlier have nothing to with grace or religion or denomination.
Hence the mosques and temples and banks and businesses are getting blessed simply because they are applying for themselves these eternal laws.
God is no respecter of persons. Hence if a muslim decides to apply the principle of seed time and harvest, he will be blessed (enabled to prosper).

We are not referring to works based or grace based salvation. we are talking about blessings here on earth, and how you acquire it.
