abuzz33: You should calculate it as follows:
Energy Audit: - 55 inch TV : 120W - 32 inch TV : 80W - 2 Decoders : 60W - 5 Ceiling Fans : 300 - 375W - 2 Rechargeable Fans - 100W - 4 Laptops - 400W - 1 HP inverter AC : 500W - 15 Bulbs : 75W - Freezer : 200W - Pumping Machine : ? - 8.5kg Washing Machine : 1.5Kwh
From this clearly you need at least a 5kwh inverter and 6kwh to handle thr surge of your washing machine.
Second is average nighttime load.
If you run all ceiling fans for 12 hours that's already 3KWH. If you put on lights for at least 5 hours that's 325W. If you watch TV for at least 6 hours that's 1.5kwh. So you need a 5KWH battery minimum.
Then to run your daily load of at least 8kwh and charge your battery of 5kwh you need at least 4.5KW of Solar panels.
Summary: - 5Kwh inverter : N 550K - 550W panels x 8 : N1m - 5Kwh LFP battery : N1m - Wiring & accessories: N 200K - Transport: 100k - Installation : N 150k
Total: N 3m

justified007: Good day professionals in the building. I am trying to assemble a small 2.5kva solar system.
Please how much can I get the following items .
12v Tubular battery x2 Afripower or Haustrom 2.5kva 24v inverter Mppt charge controller 4 300w Tokunbo mono panels
And which brand of Tubular battery can you guys recommend for me . I am using Genus presently but it's out of my budget for this project Boss whatever you do, don't go for tubular. Also don't ever buy tokunbo panels. Buy new panels { jinko) |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 3:49pm On Dec 06, 2025 |
BigDickProblems: Ok, there are 2 things involved.
It’s either you set your charging current on the controller to 20Amps. This is why you keep getting 280watts at most (meaning it is charging with the battery voltage of 14.4V-14.8V and a current of about 19Amps).
Or your panel(s) is bad. If this is the case after you have confirmed the first reason above, I urge you check the open-circuit voltage of those panels using a multimeter, as well as their short-circuit currents (better call a solar person around to do this for you if you are a novice). This will let you know if any of your panels is bad or not. I have used a multimeter to measure, and everytime the multimeter give me higher wattage but once connected to the charge controller, I won't get more that 280watts |

HawkTuahGirl: Na someone using the same controller fit advice you. That controller almost ran me mad.
This is what I simply did: Disconnect the battery cable from the cc and reconnect it after some minutes. The controller will automatically pick the battery best settings: And also check your batteries connection is well tightened (if it DIY battery, you have to check connector from inside the pack to see if the nuts are fitted very well).
The controller is designed to work automatically without tampering with settings. I hope this helps really? |

BigDickProblems: Charging at 19amps, and a charging voltage of 14.7V-14.8V (it doesn’t need all the 31V) is what gives you the 280watts. Besides, is this not enough to charge your battery ?🙃. Lols. You want fast charging 😜. Doing the maths 280watts will get your battery full in 4hrs and 30something minutes. Practically 9am to 2pm.
There is nothing else to add since you didn’t provide enough details. But it would be cool if you provide your panel(s) specs and configuration. panel is 2 250watt and 1 350watt in parallel, absorption and float @14.4v. Yes, my battery gets full but sometimes I want to power a 300watt load, even in very good sunlight my load is greater than what the panel is producing. Note: the 350 watts panel is not up to 350watt, it has a voc of 40v. So I ran it in parallel with the 2, 250watts panel. Multimeter readings from the panels is showing something higher but the charge controller no dey give pass 280 |

My powmr wont give more than 280watt to my 12v 100ah lifepo4 battery. Even when I put a 300watt load on my inverter and my multimeter gives 31v and 19amps

Tdoctor: Abeg people, This is my first lithium build and the cell voltages are doing as they like, even with the so called balancer that came with the BMS. I want to ask a question for those with experience: 1. Is using a separate active balancer OK, even with the BMS balancer? 2. How many amps active balancer will a 15 KWH battery require? 3. Is there any advantage with a smart active balancer vs. a dumb one? - NB: Still balancing out my cells, but I do not know if the 2A supposedly active balancer will be useful if any imbalance occurs again. i think it may take a while for the 2a balancer to balance your 15kw battery. But it will balance it anyways. You can try discharging your battery till your cells are below 3.0.. Then charge it. Also check if your balancer is on through your app to be sure. If you call also screenshot the voltages of the cells so people can give you a better advice |

Hullabaloon: You are correct. Never had a problem with downloading. If it's a very heavy file, I'll just do it overnight. But streaming was a major problem, especially live matches. All the apps I have, them Cricfy, Sportzx, and HDstreamz, would only stream without buffering if set to the lowest piss poor quality and buffer heavily on decent quality. Probably an issue with the sever on those apps.
Till I discovered this YouCine app. Has all the major super sports channels and the resolution is 480p which looks very decent on my 65 inches. Absolutely zero buffering on that resolution. Finally my streaming worries are over. You can give it a try. I will check it out |

NSEstudent: That position is the balanced optimal point I can get within the location. Other mounting points would require taking the ODU outside, which I don't want.
Yes, I locked 491,3256. The signal is always available here. The SINR value ranges from 18 to 23.
When I was using X25, SINR was rarely up to 8 on the locked band7, but it was decent and did well. When I first started using the ODU, the band7 was performing well, but I think Airtel became worse in the last few days. You need to take your ODU outside. I was having similar issues when I first installed mine inside. The speed was good sometime and bad sometimes. I decided to mount it outside. Since then, cell reception has been amazing. |

NSEstudent: Please are you able to visit pexels dot com seamlessly?
Did you connect through dynamic mode or you set up the static IP option?
I don't know why Airtel is struggling to open this site in all my routers. I have to always use a VPN before it works well. it is not only pexels.com. Sometimes even my whatsapp won't send and receive messages without VPN. I think it is an issue with the 5ghz channel. I have been using the 2.4ghz channel and nothing of such happened. |
