Repentant Boko Haram Terrorist Reveals How He Joined & People Killed Repentant Boko Haram Terrorist Reveals How He Joined & People Killed A repentant Boko Haram terrorist identified as Abdulwahab Usman, has sparked nationwide outrage following his confessional statement to Punch Newspapers. Abdulwahab Usman, one of the 602 ex Boko Haram members who recently got reintegrated into in society in July, said that he can't remember the number of people he had killed while he was with the terror group. According to a report by Saturday PUNCH, Usman thanked the Nigerian Government for giving them a new life. Usman told PUNCH that during the de-radicalisation process, that none of them was killed or treated badly. "I really enjoyed my stay in the camp because we weren't expecting such hospitality from the Federal Government, he said." According to Usman, they were taught different trades at the camp, such as: Welding, Barbing, Carpentry etc. But he chose to learn barbing and hopefully will continue with it when he returns to his hometown. Usman gave the assurance that they would become good citizens and never return to Boko Haram group again. The 38-year-old Abdulwahab Usman, an indigene of Bama in Borno State, also narrated how he was forced to join Boko Haram. According to him, Boko Haram people came to their village looking for those who are of school age and that was how he and his friends joined. But he eventually escaped from their hideout and surrendered to Nigerian Soldiers at Giwa barracks in Borno state. Read More HERE

The Police in Lagos have rescued a 45-year-old man who attempted to commit suicide over a N500,000 debt he owed a microfinance bank. In a statement on Sunday, Bala Elkana, the Lagos police spokesperson, said the man was intercepted by an officer while attempting to jump into the Third Mainland lagoon on Friday. According to the police, the 45-year old, identified as Adeyinka Abiodun, collected a N390,000 loan from a microfinance bank in March, which has exceeded N500,000 with accrued interests and was unable to pay back. While attempting to jump into the lagoon around 1:35 p.m. on Friday, he was intercepted by operatives deployed to Third Mainland Bridge and taken to Bariga Police Station for questioning and debriefing. “The loan was collected with intent to upgrade his wine retail business, but the business failed and the money lost. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He is married with two children. He is currently attending medical and counselling sessions. The microfinance bank was contacted and they confirmed the loan,” the statement read. The loan was repaid by the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was moved with compassion after hearing the story, the police said. Read MORE 1 Like
