It’s exactly 3 months since we received the closure mail from NLNG, I had to open the mail to read it once more and it brought back all the recruitment memories. Sometimes I feel like we wasted four years waiting on a recruitment conducted by a company we all believed had high international standards, but alas, it was no different from the regular Nigerian recruitment. It’s quite unfortunate and painful the way the recruitment ended. I believe we all learned various lessons from the recruitment, we should all wear the experience like an armour.

I guess we have all moved on and found solace in our various endeavours. I pray that God opens bigger doors and grant us our heart desires.

One love!!!

There are how many stages to get employment in Shell? What are the stages?

There are two stages in the current Shell GT recruitment. Stage one includes the timed cognitive test, the working style assessment and the on-demand video interview.

The details of stage two is captured in the attached. I wish you guys the very best.

if I give u better back hand slap ehn, your entire teeth will fall out of that mouth u are using to throw your so-called bone to your imaginary dogs. we've seen peeps who give topnotch info, Artmedia, Kaitung, forkadict, princeparis have intelligently made predictions that checked out repeatedly. They don't come here to insult the entire thread like u indirectly do.

oga if u are truly an NLNG staff, behave like one, u deactivated ur dplacement account for a reason..s keep it deactivated and shift from here...NLNG will call who she will call, when she will.

Hi RileyFreeman1,

Thank you for this epic response.

@Displacement, please say NO to "Charlatanism" and try to be a little bit professional. We have already studied the past trends of NLNG recruitment and we have an idea of what is obtainable. I asked you for specifics and not an idea of events which we already know.

@Tochiddy, trust me, the dude does not have our interest @heart like the other oracles.

To the rest of the house, lets keep praying while we wait and hope for the best.

Ask the question and I'll answer.

Hi Displacement,

I have just a few questions for you;

1) When will those who have concluded their medicals resume?

2) When will those who are waitlisted be called, and if they are called what is the likely resumption date?

3) What is the gross annual pay for the GT position of NLNG? How can this be compared to other IOCs?. (You can drop a code that will do).

4) Is there a probability that some waitlisted peeps will be called to fill the position of anyone who rejects the offer?

Thanks in advance of your much anticipated response as promised.

Any news in the corridors for those wait listed? Or Am i the only one agitated ? I hear this is not the regular way NLNG wait list people and that there is usually a date in context. Anyways I guess my mind is playing games with me. undecided kiss tongue

Hi Josephdukedone,

The answer to your inquiry is embedded in one of Kaitung's post i quoted below. We will probably be called 4 months down the line all things being equal.

In 2007, those waitlisted were contacted after 8 months the first batch of successful candidates were giving their offer. In a similar manner, the waitlisted experienced hires were contacted 6 months after they received the waitlisted mail. Same clauses and condition for employment that were stated in our mail was also stated in theirs. The only difference being that the validity period was clearly stated to last for 18 months. Refer to the experienced hire thread below;

www.nairaland.com/1790600/nlng-experienced-hire-result-out/2

Another condition that might hasten the calling of a few waitlisted candidate will be rejection of offers, which is slightly unlikely considering the fact that most people will accept the offer when they get the almighty offer. In this case, one or two people will be called to replace anyone who rejects the offer. This i think will be strictly based on discipline.

My instincts tells me we will be called sometime in Q4. When the first batch must have settled in and economic conditions must have improved. My advise to all the successful waitlisted candidates is to focus on our current jobs and take our mind off NLNG for now pending when we are all called.I will also like to call on the oracles to help us with any info regarding the duration of our wait.

I wish us all the best.

It is really a pity how the table has drastically turned. A once great company that achieved enviable feats when the expatriates were still in control. All that has been rubbished by the bureaucracy and non-chalant attitudes of the present Nigerian executives.

I do not see any justifiable reason for keeping people waiting for almost 3years, and in the end take only 1 in 12 of those who have met all set criteria in the next 4 months, and additional 1 in 11, subject to favourable business outlook in the next 7 months.

All we hear is how great the company is. We are just living in past glory i must confess.

It was once a great company, yes it was. I can't say same about today. We think we are OK at the moment as a company, but if we tell ourselves the truth, the world is drastically changing ...countries of same resources are planning ahead... I pray we don't get pushed to the shadows in a few years time.

rozayx5:

Different types of orders allow you to be more specific about how you'd like your broker to fulfill your trades. When you place a stop or limit order, you are telling your broker that you don't want the market price (the current price at which a stock is trading), but that you want the stock price to move in a certain direction before your order is executed.

With a stop order, your trade will be executed only when the security you want to buy or sell reaches a particular price (the stop price). Once the stock has reached this price, a stop order essentially becomes a market order and is filled. For instance, if you own stock ABC, which currently trades at $20, and you place a stop order to sell it at $15, your order will only be filled once stock ABC drops below $15. Also known as a "stop-loss order", this allows you to limit your losses. However, this type of order can also be used to guarantee profits. For example, assume that you bought stock XYZ at $10 per share and now the stock is trading at $20 per share. Placing a stop order at $15 will guarantee profits of approximately $5 per share, depending on how quickly the market order can be filled.

Stop orders are particularly advantageous to investors who are unable to monitor their stocks for a period of time, and brokerages may even set these stop orders for no charge.

One disadvantage of the stop order is that the order is not guaranteed to be filled at the preferred price the investor states. Once the stop order has been triggered, it turns into a market order, which is filled at the best possible price. This price may be lower than the price specified by the stop order. Moreover, investors must be conscientious about where they set a stop order. It may be unfavorable if it is activated by a short-term fluctuation in the stock's price. For example, if stock ABC is relatively volatile and fluctuates by 15% on a weekly basis, a stop loss set at 10% below the current price may result in the order being triggered at an inopportune or premature time.

A limit order is an order that sets the maximum or minimum at which you are willing to buy or sell a particular stock. For instance, if you want to buy stock ABC, which is trading at $12, you can set a limit order for $10. This guarantees that you will pay no more than $10 to buy this stock. Once the stock reaches $10 or less, you will automatically buy a predetermined amount of shares. On the other hand, if you own stock ABC and it is trading at $12, you could place a limit order to sell it at $15. This guarantees that the stock will be sold at $15 or more.

The primary advantage of a limit order is that it guarantees that the trade will be made at a particular price; however, your brokerage will probably charge a higher a commission for the limit order, and it's possible that your order will not be executed at all if the limit price is not reached.

Thanks for your selflessness my bro. However, just because of some few persons who MAY turn down the offer or fail medicals, they still decided to keep 400+ (minus 70 they have called) in limbo? I think that's the height of heartlessness. Do these guys really know what they are doing?

Bro! You can call it unfair, heartless, wickedness, torture and so on. But my own opinion is that it is completely unacceptable and insensitive for a world class company to pull this kinda stunt.

A regret mail or a waiting list mail could have been sent on the same day the success mails were sent. I can only imagine the pain those wifout strong mind would have passed through that night. Alot of us spent the whole day refreshing our mails and others were simply disoriented @ their place of work.

The fact remains that they will still call more peeps in the nearest future, but their approach to this is not right @ all. some peeps could have developed HBP the day the mails were sent. I still remember someone in here who eventually got the mail later in the day saying he was still shaking after he received his mail, so just imagine what would have been going through the minds of those who were refreshing their mail box.

I want to say a big congratulations to those that were called. I want to say thank you to the peeps that contributed to making the wait worth the while. i want to say a big thank you to folks that were selfless through out the race and a special thank you to Kaitung, Artmedia, Xenox, Saved2serve, Forkaddict, Nicer, Dmainman and all the wonderful ladies in the house.

To all of us still waiting to hear from NLNG, i will say be strong and look up to the future. I wish us the best of luck.

Have a splendid nyt rest folks!!!

Resumption is most likely going to be in Q1 2016, somewhere between February and March. Remove the one month notification factor from your permutations cos it does not apply to GTs, even thou some of us are gainfully employed and currently play vital roles in our place of work. The EH's might get their offer letters this month with the view of resumption in January.

Some peeps in here already know their status in the current GT recruitment. For those of us still waiting to know sup, i say keep believing. Victory is around the corner.

Do have a lovely week ahead peeps.

Shalom!!!

Dear hopefuls,

From my trend review and analysis, i strongly believe we will hear from NLNG next month. If it spills, then we will hear from them in October ceteris paribus.
My take on the federal character ish is that NLNG is not a federal parastatal and as such, they are not mandated to adopt the federal character principle in employment. However, there are several factors they might consider asides AC scores e.g discipline, sex, experience, qualification, personality e.t.c. In as much as they are a global company trying to build a better Nigeria, they will try as much as possible to employ individuals from every part of the country but not necessarily following the federal character principle.
In all this, all i see is success.

The preparation for Analysis presentation was something else... angry angry angry
I could have sworn that someone tampered with the clock. There i was, leisurely reading the novel material;as if on cue, i turned my head to glance at the clock and the next thing i saw was that i had 15mins left.To say i was mortified is an understatement. And to think that i still had 2 pages to read shocked shocked shocked
The horror written on my face was epic;i wish i had a camera to capture it.I just stared at the clock in total disbelief.
Till this day i still believe that someone ''remotely'' controlled that clock...abi no be 60mins make 1hr again??

#epic

It was a test of speed, analysis, presentation and communication skill, organization, planning and attention to details. It was my best part of the AC, i reached 100% of my celebral capacity trying to beat time and the questions that followed after the presentation were also insightful. The worst part of my AC was the interview/gisting session and the most interesting was definately the fact finding exercise (the unexpected).

Does anyone know how the jottings and evidence of preparation will be assessed? And which exercise will have the highest weight in the total assessment score sheet.

Happy sunday all!!!

No right or wrong answer in a fact finding assessment. The factors being considered are your decision making skill, your ability to probe by asking pertinent questions, your ability to think on your feet, your attitude during the conversion, your ability to defend the arguments in favour or against the decision you made(There are arguments in favour or against any of the options). It is an intelligence testing exercise.

Hi. Apologies but I am unable to answer most of your questions as I'm not on the forum in any official capacity. I'm just trying to help where I can. I can however confirm that your age will not be an issue. The delay in organizing the AC was not foreseen and is not your fault.
