Zwooks: Dangote should source his feedstock anywhere he so pleases and leave the country alone. Also, the refinery wasn't constructed to consume the nations crude. It was constructed because Dangote wanted to explore the industry. Nigeria must not be made an estate of Dangote Very myopic thinking. |

DeLaRue: That is neither true nor fair.
Crude oil and petroleum are 2 of the most international products in the world. It is not about serving 'your nation'.
Companies, irrespective of their country of origin are selling crude oil 24hrs a day to whoever is interested. The fact that Shell explore oil in the Niger delta doesn't mean they care whether they sell to a Nigerian company or a company in Colombia.
Everybody is buying from wherever they can get.
The US is the largest producer of crude oil, and it produces more than it needs, but US refineries still buy from other countries if they get a better deal.
Companies are in business to make money. Whoever is ready to pay, they will sell to. They don't care about country or no country.
If Companies in the country they are located aren't ready to pay their price, they will sell to another company in another country. The US produces more than they need but during the OPEC oil crisis in the 70's according to reports released by the CIA several years later, the US actually considered seizing the Niger Delta oil if the embargo persisted. If the US would consider such an extreme measure to protect the well-being of their economy and by extension the well-being of the Americans people why are we so lackadaisical about the well-being of our own people? |
Politics › Re: Nobody Is Out To Sabotage Dangote’s Refinery - Dumebi Kachikwu by Guestlander: 1:05pm On Aug 14, 2024 |
DeLaRue: The man mentioned Shell and Mobil as the bigger players. And he is correct.
At no point did he say local importers were bigger than Dangote as you have claimed.
Shell and Mobil who are the biggest crude oil exploration companies in Nigeria operate refineries around the world with combined capacity that exceed Dangote's. They need to supply their own refineries.
Shell and Mobil also operate filling stations across the world. Dangote doesn't operate any.
The two companies are also some of the biggest international crude oil sellers in the world. These are the power brokers in crude oil exploration, marketing and refining.
So, the man is correct. Shell is several times bigger than Dangote. So is Mobil. These "big players" serves their home countries at the expense of Nigeria and at the expense of the Nigerian people. What contracts? They are basically robbing us. Moreover, they wouldn't dare spill a gallon of oil in Europe or America but they destroyed the whole Niger Delta with oil spill. Big players my foot. |

The Dumebi guy is a big fool. He spoke about everything except about our own National interest, about our own economy and the Nigerian people who are the real owners of the oil. He started mentioning USA and big players who are bigger than Dangote, how does this concern or benefit the Nigerian people which is the only important part as far as I am concerned. The same US that is always ready to go to war to keep oil supplies going? |

It was the Yorubas that started throwing their countryman under the bus when the main xenophobic attack on Nigerians started
To save yourselves you wanted south Africans to focus on killing Igbos and their shops

Inteltower: The whole fiasco with SA pageantry gradually turned to tribalistic gaslighting by most Yorubas who could not fail to mention SE/Igbos
Chidimma in question is part Nigerian and if she was even Yoruba/Northerner being attacked by xenophobic south Africans I trust my Igbo brothers to defend her
But why does Yoruba like instigating conflict
If you go through tweets about this whole xenophobic attacks on Chidimma..check Yoruba comments mainly and you will be disgusted with the kind of people you share country with
To me there is plainly no difference between Black south Africans & Yorubas...their toxic nature is quite unbearable. Their similarities is uncanny.
Yes there are internal squabbles in our country amongst tribes, parties religions & regions but when it comes to Pan-Africanism we must unite and declare it Loud that we are Africans
This is what we are trying hit home to south Africans to stop the hate..yes we banter and brag but we are remain brotherly to Ghanians, Zimbabwean, Cameronians, etc.
No African country is peculiar for a particular crime. Because they always repeatedly talk about drugs & fraud perpetuated by other Africans in their country, thus I and other Nigerians keep asking them
Who buys the drugs Are South Africans not known for raping children and burning their women The HIV part... Personally I find it disgusting to attack a country based on these things but we should call out our brothers weda Nigerian or South African on these inhumane criminal acts rather than using them as an excuse to deepen hatred amongst ourselves while the white man claims our land & resources
But instead of some Yorubas to be pro-Nigerian or Pan-African...they will rather want to antagonize South Africans with the Igbos...to exempt themselves as saints
Skull miners & tribalistic bigots pretending they are the good Nigerians
Like seriously...we know una sha
Go through any of the Twitter posts on the SA pageantry to see how most Yorubas are really disgracing themselves
In the end who is more Nigerian in this country to the world?
If you can't defend a Nigerian/black African that's being attacked through xenophobia why do you want to add more fire to it so that Igbos will be targeted in general ??
There are questions to be answered regarding the civil war & what really caused it
This chameleon vibes by most Yorubas is really something else & scary
Deep respects to Yoruba but I must spit on gaslighting attitude
You do it here in the media; antagonizing the North against Igbos and export the same demonic activity to other countries.
To gain what in the end ? Isn't it just pure witchcraft... Eeyaa, we warned you when a small number of Ibos started this online hate campaign. You are basically reaping what you sowed. We told you it will get out of hand, now look at you. |

gidgiddy: Everyone knows that Nigeria was created by the amalgamation of North and South Proctectorates in 1914. What some people may not realise is that the British Colonial office actually considered declaring both protectorates seperate countries, but changed their minds for amalgamation due to economic and administrative considerations
Had the British not amalgamated North and South, Igbos and Yorubas would have found themselves to be the two largest ethnic groups in 'Southern Nigeria Republic'.
What do you think would have happened between Yorubas and Igbos in that situation?
Personally, I think Yorubas and Igbos would have fought a civil war within three years of that country becoming independent Who said the two would have been in the same country? |
