horlando30: No, the purpose of anti trust is to prevent undue advantage by a single entity in controlling the market share whether domestic or foreign. There are some many examples to protect smaller businesses from influences of the big boys like in case of microsoft, google, visa, tesla etc. The question remains, is Dangote the only company allowed to own a refinery in Nigeria? |

Arda1000: cowards like you are the reason why this country will never be good. Go and watch how people in Bangladesh were full of joy after successfully forcing their prime minister out,yea there were many deaths and injuries but at the end they achieved their aim. I do not wish death for anyone,if a protester is killed it’s not my fault but the government’s and what you should be doing is standing with the people who are protesting against bad government not trying to demoralize them with your cowardly antics You are naive. I am with law abiding people who are protesting peacefully. If you go out to commit arson and then get shot, sorry. |

LandMann: If Bill Gates monopoly was not curtailed by US government, Americans in tech would be gnashing their teeths today.
Read this piece to understand the importance of ANTITRUST LAWS then compare to Nigeria where the government that is supposed to protect the interests of the people now uses its power to protect the business of one person who owns over 90% of his company's shares.
https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/management/microsoft-antitrust-case/
Every screams danger, red flag, antipeople. Antitrust laws is to protect American citizens and businesses not to leave American businesses at the mercy of foreign competitors. Dangote is not the only Nigerian with a license to build a refinery. Not only that, there are four government owned refineries. Where then is the monopoly? China, Russia etc have their own equivalent of Facebook for example, why are they not protecting Facebook to compete with their own platforms? |

lexy2014: that is not what I asked you.
you clearly stated that nigerians could not protest under military rule
this is my question: when did these protests I listed below take place?
nigerian students not protest against obasanjo in 1978
babangida in 1989 (Anti-SAP riots)
riots against world bank loan in 1990
June 12 riots in 1993 up to 1994 I wrote in plain English, go back and read it slowly. Don't do it once, read it as many times as you want. |

did nigerian students not protest against obasanjo in 1978, babangida in 1989 (Anti-SAP riots), riots against world bank loan in 1990, June 12 riots in 1993 up to 1994? And they were protesting because Nigeria was so good and they couldn't take all the good leadership they were getting? Did you know how many people died in those protests/riots? |

Arda1000: so what do you want people for to do? Be cowards like you and do nothing? Lol in as much as I will never protest for Nigeria it’s still within people right to speak up against bad governments through protests. Just yesterday Bangladesh had a breath of fresh air after protest that have forced their prime minister to flee the country, death toll was almost 100 with thousands injured but las las they got what they wanted You will not protest for Nigeria but you will rather encourage kids to do it and I am the coward? The right to speak is not the right to loot and set things on fire. Please come out from under your bed and join these kids on the firing line. Self acclaimed keyboard warrior. |

Kalashnikov49: You and your Yoruba brethren made the protest about IGBOs, when you wanted to replicate the #endsars Propaganda against them.
The same IGBOs distanced themselves from the protest and left the floor for you and your Northern Masters to DANCE alone. Instead of you to enjoy your sophisticated dance, you deliberately started inserting IGBOs in the narrative even though everybody knows that the NORTH is 200% the onslaught against TINUBU.
Face your battles alone . COWARDs The true cowards are currently hiding under their beds while relentlessly injecting themselves into every story hoping Nigerians will still remember who they are. |
