yes, this is peak period where customers order goods online.
Like I have said, amazon operates four sections: Receiving, Stowing, picking and packing. In one of these, every associate is expected to work in.
Receiving and packing, you are stationed in one working space standing doing your job.
Stowing and picking, you are mobile doing your job.

stowing
As a stower, you will have a scanner held in your hand which you will use to scan product and physically place it into a bar coded shelf location so that the product can be ordered by the customer. You will visually inspect each item for damage prior to placing the item on a shelf as well as ensuring these items are accurate. This will allow you walk several miles, depending on the size of the warehouse, daily over the course of your shift. So, accuracy and speed are required with standing long hour.

The "interview" wasn't infact, an interview. It was a high volume hiring process. All they needed was for you to show up, give consent for them to run a background check and take a drug test. We had our picture taken, filled out some forms and picked the shifts. I picked 3 day, 12 hr shift, pay rate is $15.50/hr.

The drug test consisted of us putting one cotton-like apparatus against the check which would absorb some saliva, after which you'd put it in a test tube, seal it, label and submit. The process lasted for like an hr. They said we should keep checking our emails in the following days, that we would be notified on their decision if/when the background and drug tests results come in clean. Fingers crossed.

Strong man, you will have to stand for 12 hours. Your first two weeks will tell how strong you are, though, apart that, you should be fine. But the worse department you will hate is stowing. Customer's return is good, quality control is good too. Inbound and outbound are both good. The worse part is meeting your target, so, you have to be very fast. Lol

But consider it these category of people, Someone who studied B.Tech or Elect Elect and has experience to handle any of these machine, Has a degree in any other field be it social science but has experience to operate those equipment, Has a degree, but no experience to operate all of the equipment but 1 or 2, Has a degree, have practical knowledge of technical works or general operations.
The position is not just an ordinary position and its not just a cheap pay. Don't get it twisted.

I'm a 300L student from the department of mechatronics engineering, FUNAAB.... In this my short but well written post, I'll be giving few reasons on why I feel mechanical engineering is no longer relevant in modern life.
Well, the main reason engineering exists is to solve the problems of mankind. Frankly speaking, I don't think mechanical engineering does that! Mechanical engineering only reduces the problems of mankind. Any mechanical device requires physical energy from man before it can function.... A vacuum cleaner is a typical example of a mechanical device, without a person controlling it, the device is useless.... In other words, mechanical engineering doesn't solve the problem of mankind but only reduces it which isn't good enough!!
Now this brings me to my course of study, Mechatronics Engineering!! The world is gradually becoming more of electronics than mechanical. Everything is gradually getting automated, thus not requiring physical work before it can function. And only Mechatronics engineers can cope in this new upgraded environment.... Few years from now, mechanical engineering will become obsolete...
I ask that my fellow scholars should attempt to disprove this post if you feel am wrong as we are all learning

The school is resuming in January.
I've paid the deposit and I've provided all the necessary documents. They promised me ny cas 10 days ago but they keep telling me different stories everyday. That they want to confirm my course end date. I'm confused as to why such a simple thing is taking so long. I want to know if such delays are normal because it's been two weeks since i sent my bank statements.
I submitted my statement of result to the school so hopefully that's what'll be in my cas
