Politics / Facebook User Blasts Nigerian Politicians After Trump Meets 20% Of Promises by GUNZnROSES(m): 10:01pm On Jan 23, 2017
Nairalanders, what do you think about this post from a Facebook user, Femi Jonathan Maro

In as much as i am not a fan of the Donald, you have to give the man some credit. He swung into action immediately after his inauguration. He has already fulfilled almost 20% of his campaign promises; Pulling America out of its two biggest trade deals (NAFTA and TPP) , limit abortion funding overseas, freeze non-military federal hiring, A regulatory freeze of Obamacare and working with republicans and democrats alike for a replacement plan, He even met with business leaders today to talk about tax cuts for the middle class as well as re-emphasizing border taxes for companies thinking of exporting American jobs.

Now let us go back to Nigeria, ordinary 7 point agenda has been on mannequin challenge for more than a decade. Vision 2020 nko? it was suspended indefinitely. No committee report, No feed backs, No lessons learnt. Instead it is Business as Usual. Now we are talking about a new narrative (Vision 2030). Our obsession with the drama and intrigue of politics has relegated discourse on policy and national development to the background.

with your Economic expertise, enlighten me on why overhauling the NNPC has been a mission impossible for OBJ,Yaradua and GEJ

Dude, the problem with the oil industry is the downstream. You should ask your self. Are the refineries working to optimum capacity? The capitalist oil cabals like Sahara energy, Capital oil, etc are they adhering to the laid down rules for oil distribution to the final consumers?. Since you sound very intelligent, how can subsidy removal by GEJ remove Nigerians from this economic conundrum when refineries are not working. It has been a mission impossible for the aforementioned because of lack of political will.

GEJ will never be forgotten in the annals of Nigerian history. A man who rose to power through dark sentiment using the devious “I had no shoes” and “fresh air” mantra to insult the collective intelligence of the people . The common wealth of the people, the status of Nigeria in the international eye has plummeted to the lowest ebb you can ever think of. The economy has lost its trajectory. The middle class is dead and has been buried while investors and small business owners have all packed up their wares. Corruption is so inundating in this Jonathanian administration that those who fail to adore its toga are slandered and relegated (Sanusi comes to mind) from the political equation. This country has never been doomed to this extent. Critics might attack me for leaning to the extreme on the continuum but I would rather you call me a wimp than lavish in blind optimism.

It is dvmb of you to come to conclusion that i protested against subsidy removal when you don't know me. Jonathan's policies are as clueless as he is. Economic managers like me have always buttressed the fact that subsidy removal is not the solution to the logjams in the oil sector. A total overhauling of NNPC and other capitalist gang would be a good start.

Thats a merger with the same old agenda. The end product of the unholy alliance is that they will teeter into a precipice of political abyss. Another 4 years of GEJ is better than 6 months of Buhari/APC. They have a faulty agenda which consolidates dependency and the government of lootocracy. A party agenda that does not encompass the middle class who are the main drivers of an economy should be dethroned and relegated to the pit of hell.

To put it more subtle, Him and his Godfather (Tinubu)have fashioned out a way to empty the state's coffer and blamed it on the federal government non-release of state's allocation. It is no doubt a dramatized political charade. The circus called development sponsored by the pro-fashola administration is coming to an end in the next republic.

All is does is collect monies from criminals and bend justice.

It was a very harrowing experience and it further begs the question of how serious we are to create an enabling environment for investors in the country especially the Niger delta region. Kidnappers are on the loose, Robbers are having their hay day. Police and thieves are suppose to be like traffic and weather but in Nigeria, they are bed fellows. The only difference between them is the uniform. They have the same face, the same motive. God help us in Nigeria
Poems For Review / VENGEANCE: Poem by GUNZnROSES(m): 11:59pm On Mar 04, 2013
Through that lonely path have walked
One that crept out from red clouds
One final bid and hopped my sack
Run! Run! was the last i heard
The last wheat fell that autumn

Time is rust upon the blade
The armour yonder binds my grim soul
and sheath my wounds and gory dreams
My flaming heart still soaked in wine
thrust with the voices of those horsemen

A phantom cry from blood spilled on sand
Voyage North through sprout of sour echoe
The wondrous journey to end that grief
Sniffed the last ounce of freedom
Till my shadows cast to the dark

Perhabs, Thomas Hobbe's dismal shock about an insecured state was borne out of his palliatives for a new state built on the operational basis of a responsible government. He was however ignoble about the challenges we face today and unceremoniously guillotined his theory when he unframed responsive security institutions from his litmus test on Origin of state.

My outburst is triggered by my experience on a bright sunny morning in the month of feburary. While i was carrying out my daily business guarded under my routine devotional mantra of Dignity in labour, i heard a terrific bang on my door. I vowed to loosen the chains of hell on that erring staff that had the effontery to act unculturedly. I swaggered bossfully towards the door, taken with me a well prepared oral querry. I jerked the door bolt in vexation and started pouring out arrogant words from my lips without even noticing the AK 47 starring directly at my face. My nerves immediately communicated it to my brain that these were men of the underworld. I responded 4 times with details to each of their questions as i face the ground dishonorably. The uglyest one amongst the dare devil men ordered me to quickly remit the proceeds of the day to him. I took him with my almost soiled trousers to my office toilet and showed him the ceiling. I quickly obliged with a chair to enable the "gentleman" open the ceiling to take the 300,000 naira i hid there a day before. i laid down and peeped intermetently at where he was directing his gun at. I never knew my corporation with the Robbers could be that overwhelming

After the robbers heyday, i was still facing the ground even after about 20mins of their departure. My staffs came to me where i was lyin down on the floor of my toilet and contemptiously told me to stand up to my feet and that they had gone." Woe betide them". I refused. After much persuasion, i regained consciousness. JESUS!! my 120k laptop, my double sim techno phone were all gone. I launced a march with about six other victims to the office of the D.P.O.....

ME: Oga this is absolutely prepostrous. Despite the fact that some of your men stationed a roadblock close to my company, They didnt get the alert that robbers were operating. This is mesmerizinly ridiculous!
DPO: my friend, you are very mistaken. we were the first to get the alert. Infact when we saw how intimidating the guns of those robbers were, we had to send a signal to Warri division requesting for a joint team operation in other to subdue the robbers. But it was rather unfortunate that before we could mobilize, the robbers had left.
I shook my head with disdain. On noticing my irritation at his nonsense, he looked at me persuasively
DPO: what you Nigerians dont know is that police are your friends. Dont blame us o.We couldnt get fuel for our hilux so we had a delay. Anyway, go to the counter and write down your statment.

I went straight to the policeman seated at the counter. He was looking very shabby and unhealthy. He looked like the armed robber i obliged with a chair. i answered every question he asked me and i wrote down all i knew about the incident on the sheet of paper he gave me. i gave him a "thank you" gesture as i turned towards the exit door. He quickly jumped off his chair and accosted me.

POLICEMAN: Oga, sorry about the robbery o.
i nodded pitifully with a blunt and dejected smile
POLICEMAN: Oga na wa for you o. You just dey go like that?
ME: wetin happen?.... i asked dumbfoundedly
POLICEMAN: shey you no know say you go pay me 200naira for the paper and biro wey u take write statement?

Now, i became very furious and started quoting some sections of the police act which i stumbled across during one of my leisure readings in other to refute the 200naira claim. After about 20mins of intensive arguement and my anger finally pacified by people around, i was able to beat down the price to 100naira.

The DPO later called me to his office and gave me few words of consolation. He told me how brave i was to have faced the robbers. He showered me with lot of accolades when deep down my mind, i knew my friends musnt hear what transpired between the robbers and i because i remembered i had one time boasted to them how impregnable i was to the skims and intimidations of armed robbers due to my Marxist background. I took his praises with a pinch of salt and was about leaving his office when he called me back.

DPO: Mr man! do you expect me to use my money to forward your statement to Asaba. Dont you know that i have to send an alert to the commisioner of Police so that we can receive his orders to commence investigation?
My bottled up rage was about to explode. I maintained composure and decorum. I asked, with a gentle fury
ME: How much are we talking about here sir!
DPO: You shouldnt be asking me such. Use your discretion mr man!. How much fuel go carry me go and come from here to Asaba. I go still buy food for road chop because you dey send me message. Everything go enter 2000 naira but because na case of robbery, i go collect only 1500naira from you

With a shrink face, i told him to drop the statement at asaba anytime he went there and that i wasnt ready to part with any of my money again. He ordered me to get out of his office, hitting his table with anger....

Exactly that same time the upper week of the robbery incidents, we were told by a passerby that robbers were raiding a company close to ours. Before anybody could say "jack Robbinson", i was lyin down on the comfort of my bed drinking cold five alive and thanking God for my Life.

Politics transcends the utter gibberish u just spewed out of ur leprotic fingers. The relationship between the church and the state died and was buried under the machiavellian age of renaisance. Mr Romney only ended up supporting Obama's policy.he also tried shifting the momentum of the debate to economy and unemployment which he thought is obama's achilis hill. He illuminated the burning controversies of his campaigns that he is pro-war and would invade syria, capture assad and station American troops in the oil rich region of the middle east. With all these, he contnues to champion about reducing the deficit and maintaining a balanced budget. In basic economics, financing a war can not stabilize domestic economy. That is why the bush administration left the current administration with a lot of deficit plus the greatest reccession since the great depression. Todays debate would play a major role in the gallup polls which wud give Obama the edge in the swings state. He just need to capture florida, virginia, wincosin, ohio. Don't even talk about a close election because the electoral colleges would definitly be in favour of mr barack Obama.

kosovo: As the self acclaimed giant of Africa continues to grasp for breath under this fraudulent amalgamation of 1914, it becomes imperative to cross-check the foundation on which Nigeria was built.

With the continuous bombings of Haram, compounded by the prevalent national confusion that has be-deviled an already derailed society, one needs not to be told that dooms days looms. Visionary advocates saw the perils of One Nigeria and warned, Ojukwu saw and warned, Gaddaffi saw and warned, he even suggested a solution to this " mis-configuration" of over 400 ethnic groups, instead he was called a madman, by those who pretend to represent the interest of the common man, while in reality, they represent their kleptomania and cacoethes desires.

Those who are yet to understand the fraud behind the amalgamation will continue screaming for One Nigeria. As for the sane and lucid mind(s) , the fraud behind the amalgamation has since be unveiled, hence ,we must prevent the continuation of our forefathers' mistakes, who were deceived under duress to sign this unholy matrimony and falsehood agreement of southern and northern protectorates in 1914. History has it, that the said agreement was even signed at the dead hours of the night. With this nocturnal agreement as a foundation for nationhood, one needs not to be told the reasons behind the collapse of the self acclaimed giant of Africa. As for the wise, a word is enough.

am glad i crossed ur path in this life.u ve a giant mind.i "love" u my brother.the 1914 amalgamation is a failed project.

When a man go to the market and buy a goat or a dog, he owns the animal. When a man buys a house or a piece of land, he owns it but when a man goes to a woman and pays bride price, ladies will start to shout that he doesnt own her. They will remind us that this is 21st century as if we forgot. I am not saying a man should maltreat his wife or even his dog but ladies should get it.
You are all for sale and when we buy you, we take you to our own families.
