Nigerians in Nigeria over worked and underpaid, some work for months without pay, teachers go on strike for months without pay, i mean the list is endless.

Workers strike in the UK for more money and better working condition, workers in the UK will get paid even when they are striking. Comparing Nigeria to developed world is just a silly joke.

Its so embarrassing to read from some Nigerians in nairaland saying stuff like...people abroad work to pay bills and taxes bla bla bla,

Nigerians abroad pay bill they use on daily bases while Nigerian in Nigeria pay bills and taxes they hardly use, you pay for electricity you hardly use, you pay taxes but roads are in a terrible state, no security, no good functioning govt hospital, you pay the police to arrest a suspect, pay them to file case against the suspect and pay them to keep suspect in detention.

Just look at the recently concluded general election...polling stations taken over by thugs, people get beaten up, ballot boxes taken away while police watch.


South Africa got independent from apartheid white-rulers in 1994 but today SA is far better than Nigeria, Nigerians are ready to die in SA rather than running home.

What is there to celebrate or defend about Nigeria? 30-40% unemployment rate? Kidnapping? Extreme corruption? Lack of basic infrastructures? I mean you can't even withdraw your own money from cash machines or carry out online transactions for months.

And some of you have the gut to compare Nigeria to any half decent country?

The general assumption pertaining the discourse of domestic violence is the notion that it's mostly between couples/families. But violence within housemates is also very common.

Two people squeezing in small spaces will lead to lots of friction. From stealing, not cleaning, smoking indoor, noise-making at odd hours, not paying for common usage (eg cleaning soaps, tissue), entering your private room secretly etc.

Usually it is inderstandable for students to share living spaces, but I mourn the direction major cities are heading to where an individual with a full-time job can't even afford to pay for a studio in the city, and must share with strangers to make end meet.

Imagine going out to work, frustrated about life and every, only to come home to ww3, because you and your flatmate are more of cat and rat, than peaceful dwellers. And that's the reality of many residents in big cities like London.

The formula to live cheap abroad is this. The more densely populated the city, the more expensive it is. There are places in the UK, such as villages that you can rent a very big apartment with a garden, for even less than 1k pounds.

But the people that enjoy such places are location independent folks such as programmers. Also, you'll sacrifice longer travel, less entertainment, and isolation for such locations. At the end, we are always picking our poison.

Big cities might be nice, but for the average folks, it's about living paycheck to paycheck, in a tiny cubicle or even sharing a flat with someone that on a very good day, you'll want to punch his teeth off.

That is not true.. there are standard hospitals in Nigeria now with state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat major health issues.

Stop misleading people with the "fantastic" health system abroad.. You must have social insurance and proper up-to-date documents to use their health facilities i n the US. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed this when mostly black people died from lack of proper health care. How many people died in Nigeria that you so much condemn compared to your USA??

If not for corrupt leaders, Whites would be travelling to Africa especially Nigeria for healh care and not what we have now.. Afterall the best doctors in the USA are Nigerians trained right here in Nigerian universities like OAU, UI, UNILAG among others. A Yoruba doctor in USA trained at OAU performed operation on a White baby still at 7 months and returned the baby to the mother's womb who later had successful delivery after 9 months. That was the first of its kind to ever happen.

I'm sure your type won't ever accept that there are poor White people simply because of your low self esteem. The Dangote you mentioned is richer than some States in US and Canada yet he chose to stay in his home country Nigeria and home continent Africa.. That is part of attributes of successful people; Self-love.

Well. I’m in Osogbo. Average of 20 hours electricity. So not bad. Your points stands though...Nigeria can never be better than UK.
However I have also noticed your posts about Nigeria are usually pessimistic and full of condemnation.
Uk isn’t perfect as well and in some things...Nigeria is honestly better.
Heard of black people slumping and dying in factories due to work related stress. And an African nurse just died recently (making four in one month) too sleeping while driving after a night shift....
Uk isn’t heaven and have its own issues as well...
