rapmike:I get your point. The aforementioned are Super Villains,Crossbones doesn't really fit in that category. But if we talking about badass villains that can really cause some serious damage then crossbones definitely fits. |
rapmike:Mercenary boring? Wait till you get a load of Crossbones in Civil War... |
rapmike:Ya,I get the confusion since they both got the skull mask thing going on. But they're totally different,Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones is a mercenary and an assassin, while Tony Masters aka Taskmaster possess the ability to absorb knowledge and replicate combat skills he observes from anyone,he mostly serves as a teacher to super villains and all that. The former is what we got in the Captain America movies while the latter is yet to make his live action debut.. |
rapmike:Oh ,you mean Crossbones ,why you referring to him as Taskmaster? Totally different characters. |
rapmike:I don't see how that would have ever been possible, considering( as at that time) Marvel didn't have the rights to use a Live-action Taskmaster. On a positive note,Marvel recently(about 5 days ago) secured the rights to use the Taskmaster character on live-action. So fingers crossed he might come into play in future installments As for the plot, I could see where the issue comes in. Despite all that Cap has done, I felt that some people will still be afraid of him and those ones would have ran a campaign which would have led to the Reg. Stuff. Add the fact that Bucky is already a wanted fugitive (which despite the fact that he was brain-washed by Hydra still remains), then Captain's protection of him will always give the Registration thing more ground. Well, shame but I think Iron-man is holding back too much in the fight I saw (at least in the trailer)You need to note that they aint enemies, its not like a villain type of brawl affair,in which one is gunning for the other's head. IronMan is just tryna bring Cap in with orders from the Government,Cap wouldn't go down that easy,so of cus it won't make sense for Tony to unleash his full fury on Cap,they aint enemies. Wonder where Nick Fury was during this time, he usually gives the Cap well-timed advice on issues like this. What did you expect, this is coming from Bryan Singer, someone who openly shiits on the X-Men characters just to spite fans. Though the haircut actually fits in for this version, its like a reflection of her state of being in that point of her life, making her seem like some kinda rebellious teen who's on the fast end, more like a lost cause, making her be more open to be manipulated by Apocalypse with the illusion of a better life. Am curious about Psylocke, but I have to admit that they made Nightcrawler cute with his blue skin. Would like to see who will be in the new Xmen team and would love to see how Xavier will get bald, lol.LOL,actually not,the trailer made the movie drop out of my CBM anticipation list for 2016. Oh where to start? Is it how Oscar Isaac Apocalypse looks awful in every aspect? Apocalypse is suppose to be like a being with a god-like mind-set but we get an Apocalypse with the voice of that of a British hobo. Or maybe its the fact that Mystique is actually not err...Mystique but rather Katniss Everdeen of the Hunger Games just bcus Jennifer Lawrence hates being in the classic blue make-up/costume,the uniqueness of the beloved character had to be sacrificed,oh and guess what Well,I still hope the next trailer brings something new that picks up my interest. |
armadeo: ,my real gee,HAPPY NEW YEAR bro, wishing you the best this year has to offer. I still remain loyal |
Ultimatesammie:Marvel successfully built a Cinematic Universe which is in its 8th year now, with movies based on the universe which have all been box office hits, turning the MARVEL brand into an household name. Proof of that? Obscure characters (like Ant-Man) now pull box office numbers just bcus it has the name of the brand MARVEL to it. Should I also talk about the success of Guardians Of The Galaxy? A movie about Characters no one has ever heard off,but was critically acclaimed, became a box office smash(even grossing more than Man Of Steel,a movie that kickstarted the DCEU),all bcus of the Marvel brand. Thanks to the years of world building by Marvel(Total films box office= 9.08Billion Dollars). So Adelana1 is 100% right with his first statement. In 2016 DC(still in its 1st phase) would be starting with the 2nd movie to its Cinematic Universe, while Marvel(now at its 3rd phase) will be at its 13th. Ade saying DC won't come close to Marvel in 2016 ,is not an opinion its a fact. |

Season greetings to y'all. After the long journey up the mountain ,we are finally at the top,the finals of the 2015 edition of the NL-King-Of-Poets tourney. 16 fearless netcees took to the center stage, but just 2 of the bravest of them all made it to the finals. The Indestructible Llaykorn & The Unstoppable Jason21 Interesting Factoid : Both Finalists actually participated in the first edition of The NL-King-Poets Tourney (ironically, both didn't make it pass the first round).•Special thanks to the 16 Textcees who participated in this 2nd edition of the NL-King-Of-Poets tourney, and for being such a great sport. •Special thanks also to the Judges who found time in giving verds to the fixtures thus far . Kr0ne, Funlord, Sinizia, Reyginus, Alexpissu, Adanna28, Emaprince and my humble self Guykhena. •Also to the followers/viewers,we love you all.. N.B:This Tourney was hosted by yours truly Guykhena and My Brother in crime(erm,ok poor choice of words, but still .) The Great Kr0ne .Enough stalling, let's get on with it.. |
sinizia:Nice,I can dig it,though I'm leaning towards the latter more, based on the grasping level for the viewers. More suggestions are welcome. Cc: Funlord Reyginus |
Funlord Reyginus Sinizia Season greetings to y'all, since we at the peak point of the KOP tourney,I would like y'all to drop some suggestions on the topic both the finalists should work on(It shouldn't be a walk in the park kinda topic, make it some technical ish ).I'm gonna use the topic I find the most technical when I set-up the thread tomorrow. Thanks. |
llaykorn:The duel date would be on friday.. |
cao:Ya I got that, ran a quick search on the word when you first mentioned it,a film set about such premise might actually be worth watching. But still a bit skeptical when it comes to Old films. Well different strokes for different folks. |
cao:I don't dig Old tv shows that much, maybe because I'm so in with the new age I can't bare to ignore the cheesy factors that comes with it.. Is it wrong, that I kept hoping he'd take his shirt off and leave it off for the whole duration of the film? Henry Cavill looks like a proper rugby man, he really does have the body of superman and can also pull the gentle giant trope when needed.Dang,I guess that's one of the reason I probably disliked him ,he's got the perfect body likened to a greek god . MOS was nothing to write home about, but damn he did get the Superman physique right,no muscle pad in the suit, just sheer muscles. After watching Ex Machina, I'd watch Alicia Vikander in anything, if I remember correctly I already did, she was in the disappointment that was seventh son (I can't remember the rest of the name).Woah ,that's a bit extreme,I can tell the director was a bit pushy. On no circumstance would I put my health at risk just for a movie gig. Isn't there some kinda law against that? Directors making actors do things that might be a threat to their health? |
boofydon:ummmmm,special viewing ..Merry Xmas |
cao:Really? Ah,the length in which an actor would go. I think what really made DiCaprio stand out is that he went against his own morals, most Vegetarians are so strict to their diet,on no circumstance do they compromise, but Leo on the sake of being in character actually did. cao:Glad you clarified that out,cus I was actually wondering after reading "I've actually watched the original tv series" I was like woah how old are you Miss? I think I really liked the film because I liked the actors and it does have potential. Although, I did find it odd that a Brit was playing an American, an American was playing a Russian, a Swede was playing a German and Hugh Grant playing Hugh Grant for 10 minutes. Plus, Armie Hammer will forever be a weird name, regardless of how many times I see or hear it.The chemistry dynamic b/w Henry and Hammer was great, fun to watch. Though I agree with you it was awkward watching the actors playing characters of different nationalities. I enjoyed the movie,Henry Cavill was great,I never thought I would ever like him after the God awful 'Man Of Steel',but wow he really did impress me. Merry Xmas |
dolphinheart:You should try watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E your perspective might change. |
Feleezy:I applaud him,the sacrifices he made, even going out of his own comfort zone just to portray the character 'Glass'. You recall the scene in which he ate a raw Bison meat ? DiCaprio actually did eat the raw meat(that might not mean much until you realise that Leonardo DiCaprio in real life is a VEGETARIAN Oscar Bait right there . |
The Revenant . DiCaprio is one hell of an actor,he put on an awesome performance, his dedication to the role was glaring. |

koice:Exactly,no matter how it plays out,its just gonna feel completely wrong. I need to get the most out of my viewing pleasure. |
luxanne:Ya,most times when doing the 'manage to watch',I always never make it all the way through(no matter how the film sweet me ,cus I won't be able to avoid eye movement on the rubbish subtitle ) .When I'm watching movies, everything needs to be perfect, any slight glitch I won't take it. |
dmcdad:Hehe, nice,NOTED .It is very annoying when it happens though, the thing go just dey pain you for body . |
I actually prefer watching with subtitles,we have to admit watching a movie/series without subtitles you can't say you got everything they said, you must definitely miss some minute details in the words they used. But with subtitles definitely your eyes would be fixed on it(most times its like an involuntary action). You'll be able to get/understand informations faster,so when it comes to dialogue scenes you no fit slack. But some subtitles no dey help matters sha,lol ,it is meant to be simultaneous with the voices right? But in some cases the subtitles appear before the sound comes(more like 7secs lap),so you don ready know wetin dem go talk before dem talk am ,and when dem dey talk, the subtitle go dey show another thing . Or in some cases the subtitle though in english would be in another format from what the actors are saying but its still the same point. In all seriousness, I love watching my movies/series with the subtitles.. Oh you could also pick up the names of some nice soundtrack with the help from subtitles,no sweat. |
ekemini606:What type of weed do you smoke? Age Of Ultron did low at the box office? Dude get your facts right. Domestic:$459,005,868 Foreign:$946,029,899 Worldwide:$1.4Billion . Going by your logic the producers of Jurassic World must have been crazy not to cast "Real Dinosaurs" for the movie right (Oh might I point out Jurassic World made over $1.5Billion? ) ,they should have gotten a real Indominus Rex(a dinosaur that never existed), formed from the mix of raptors & a T-Rex,to star in the movie instead of using CGI,how silly they are .smhIf these so called 'over-bloated cgi' movies are making billions of dollars, then how are the 'movie lovers' seeing pass it Even the Transformers movies still cross the billion dollar mark with ease. Do you think they cram cgi in on baseless thinking? Its more or less they don't have a choice, and that's the only route they can take .Do you even know the essence of cgi? Its bringing the impossible to life. CGI is safe to work it,practical effects are too dangerous to work with compared with Computer Generated Effects(it doesn't wear the actors down). In this present age,you hardly hear of deaths of stunt doubles,or big damages done on movie sets all bcus of the 'realism' factor unlike the 90s. So dude, try to see things from another perspective. |
What was paayne doing? Smh. Bars wasn't all that great either, but I'll take his over paayne's bs. MVGT-Bars |
,one of the thousand reasons I can never take Nollywood seriously.. |
,you mean Crossbones ,why you referring to him as Taskmaster? Totally different characters.
