Ghanaian Reggae artiste Ekow Micah sets the cyber space ablaze after his remark went viral claiming that Bible permits smoking

According to Ekow, the Bible gives testament to the fact that even God smoked, therefore the act should be considered as a calling rather than seeing it as a crime.


He further backed up his claim with a Bible verse

Psalm 18:7-8 reads from the NIV Bible: “7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. 8 Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.”

Ekow Micah In his own view, weed smoking is to the Rastafarian is what kontomire is to the vegetarian.

Shatta Wale Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review show, Ekow Micah said the Bible verse Psalm 18:7-8 explains why weed smoking is okayed by God.

His comment came after Dancehall legend Samini, A Ghanaian artiste also called for the legalisation of Marijuana in Ghana opining that its sale will help boost the Ghanaian economy.

Ekow Micah’s comments, though, are bound to stir controversy from the Christian community, with many arguing that his interpretation of the Bible is wrong.

This young lady suffered an ailment known as Anorexia nervosa; an eating disorder, defined all odds an win a body building competition. Her photos went viral. It's a jaw dropping body transformation!

“My name is Nicola King, I’m 24 years old. When I was 16, I became obsessed with my weight (Body Image) and started counting calories which led me to become sick. Shortly after, I was diagnosed with anorexia (an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat)

Growing up, I always had a healthy appetite, but when I got to my teens, I started having mood and anger issues. I became more aware of my looks and began obsessing over my weight. I always wanted to be slimmer or a different shape or size. I compared myself to others and became focused on what I saw in the mirror. The illness slowly crept into my head. It started with chocolate, and then I kept cutting out food and calories until I wasn’t eating anything at all.

I could refuse to eat for six weeks straight or even drink water because I was scared of adding weight. A few years ago, it got so bad that I had to be admitted into intensive care. The doctors told my parents to say goodbye to me because my organs were shutting down. My hair was falling out, my periods stopped and I was in constant agony.

At my worst, I weighed four stone (25 Kilograms), had a BMI of eight and I felt dead. Some how I survived, because the doctors sedated me and kept me tube fed. Six months after, I was discharged from the hospital. I channeled that negative obsession towards weight building and started going to the gym

Going to the gym has given me focus and something I can get up for in the morning. It’s my therapy and escape and it’s a liberating feeling to push your body to the extreme but in a positive and healthy way. Its been a very long road since then but for the first time, I am proud of myself

I never thought I would get to this point. I didn’t even think I would still be here. Its surreal to have come this far- its overwhelming. When I look at the photos from when I was ill, it hurts, but I feel like I have come so far. If it wasn’t for my family and bodybuilding, I don’t know if I would still be here.”

It is very interesting to know that Fateme is a football fan and has previously painted Iranian football legend Ali Daie, who personally paid her a surprise visit in appreciation of the image she painted of him.

People like Fateme are really an epitome of inspiration to those thinking giving up is their last option in life.

This Ethiopian tribeswoman breaks record, and she currently holds Guinness World Record for the biggest lip plate embellishment, which almost has the size of her head. Her incredibly large lip plate, made out of clay, measures an unbelievable 59.5 cm in circumference and 19.5 cm in diameter, and is over twice the size of an average disc!
Her whopping facial decoration was discovered by an Australian film crew led by cinematographer Abrahem Joffe, when they were making a documentary series for Canon Australia in Oct, 2014.


While in the remote valleys of southern Ethiopia, the film crew chanced upon Ataye Eligidagne, a tribeswoman who was wearing a large disc adornment on her lower lip. The plate was almost the size of her head. They were astonished upon seeing this jaw-dropping embellishment, which was so large, even the locals were impressed.

“We were taking a tour with some of the local guides. When they spotted the woman, they were absolutely bewildered,” said Joffe.


“I’m a big reader of Guinness World Records and I figured it was out of the ordinary, but you know you’ve found something special when the locals are amazed.”

Through the help of a local guide, Joffe learned that Eligidagne had stretched her lip for three years, and extracted two of her bottom front teeth in order to accommodate the humongous plate.

Eligidagne told Joffe that it was not painful, nor had there been any adverse affects caused by the procedure, though she admitted that the discs might not be around forever, and there are fewer younger people wearing them today.


During their conversation, Joffe gave Eligidagne some Coca-Cola, and was absolutely amazed by her reaction.
“Ataye poured it onto her tongue with the disc in place, and suddenly had this stunned expression. It was incredible,” he said.


Wearing lip plates is a symbol of beauty and prestige for both the Suri and Mursi tribes, also known as Surma people, who reside in South Sudan and southwestern Ethiopia.


It is said that the bigger the lip plate a woman has, the better the wife she will make; thus, the larger the dowry of live cattle the woman’s family would receive upon her getting married.


The women take pride in crafting and embellishing their own discs. Lips are normally pierced when the women are between the ages of 15 to 18 for those who choose to have the procedure done.


“I think that locally, it’s a matter of pride,” said Joffe

As shared on Instagram: Ekyogero is a popular cultural bath in many communities in Uganda for newborn babies consisting of various herbs. The use of ekyogero is widespread in Uganda, but it is more common among tribes from central, western and south-western Uganda.

Rose Namuli, an elderly Muganda woman, says according to the Kiganda culture, the herbal bath is a must for a newborn baby.

Traditionally, the baby's grandmother gathered particular herbs like olweza, ebombo, omwolola and omwetango. In addition, she had the responsibility of teaching her daughter-in-law how to boil the herbs and bathe the baby, she explains.

According to Namuli, not only is the herbal bath used to cleanse and give the baby a smooth skin, it is also believed to bring good luck to the baby and ward off curses. She adds that ekyogero prevents skin rash (enoga).

Norah Ahabwe, an elderly woman from Mbarara, says when a newborn baby is bathed in ekyogero, she gets good luck and is given some to drink to protect it against diseases like malaria. She says the herbal concoction also boosts appetite and cleans the digestive system.

Jolly Byenkya, the minister of culture in Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, says about 10 herbs are gathered and boiled to make ekyogero.

She says the baby is bathed in the herbs from the first day of birth up to three months. Byenkya adds that the herbal bath is intended to prevent bad luck and diseases.

An 8-foot giant Albino Catfish weighing 194 pounds i.e 88kg was caught and released back into the water safe and sound in Spain

It was gathered that Chris Grimmer, in his 40s, caught the giant fish in spain during his fishing trip. It was the biggest Albino catfish caught on River Ebro in Barcelona, Spain. It is two times heavier than the previous one caught by a blind woman, Shelia Penfold back in the years.

After weighing the giant albino Catfish, it was released back to the river.
