Normally after the " your pastor is delivered to post" you are to see the new update that read "passport is ready for pick up" Kingleyazaribe5: Please what does this statement mean? "Your passport is being delivered to post" Been seeing that on my profile for one week now. Thank you. |

shelly23: Not true, I got a quote from Delta in May for $85 for my daughter which I was to pay at the airport.
I had to change my travel date and ended up paying $191 about a month later. I found out the $85 initially quoted was for one way because the person I spoke to assumed my daughter had a naija passport. I eventually bought the return ticket because I found out they won't sell one way to naija with a naija visa in a US passport (same way you can't buy one way to the US with your B1/B2 visa). When I got home, I applied for a refund for the unused leg of the trip and I got $85 almost 2 months later. My thinking is the diffeence that it could can be tax. One delta agent also explained that it its better to add d ticket earlier immediate after birth it's cheaper |

Shawbabe: Hello my people,
I am safely back in Naija oh. Operation birth is complete for me, thank God it ended in praise.
Just 3 important tips for first time mums coming back with their infants:
1) Thou should not buy thy infant ticket with American office of thy airline, or thou shall pay $400+ for a one way ticket. Buy thy infant ticket from the naija branch and get someone to pay them in naira for u.
2) Purchase an Infantino baby carrier coz thou shall need it @ the airport, for thy stroller and car seat shall be taken from thee and checked in all the way to naija. So if u don't wanna carry ur baby for hand thru layovers and security, buy one! Or thy hand shall break from carrying baby.
3) Thou should arrive at ur departure airport 3 hours ahead of time to make sure thou gets preference for bassinet. Very important. Also that thous shall not be running to thy gate with yelling baby in thy arms. For thou shall apear like a mad person.
That's it folks! Till next pikin is conceived, thanks for everyone's contribution and for the laugh thru my final weeks of pregnancy oh. Love all of una.
Him shawbabe. Which infantino baby carrier did u get. Which passport did your baby used to travel. Thank you |

Can one travel with the baby without the USA passport.
Is there anyone with the experience of processing the US passport in Nigeria |

Shawbabe: Lol relax! U are too stressed. Letter and correspondence from Dr doesn't guarantee entry. I traveled with no letter or choice of Dr sef. And only 40 dollars in my bag becoz hubby had wired all the money to his Bank of America acct. I just had his Atm cards. And I told the border agent that I have a Dr and hospital in mind and will decide when I visit both. He said ok and stamped me in. I made up my mind when I was settled in Atl. It's all about confidence and how u answer their questions abeg. I no carry any burden of proof oh.
Atl obgyns will not give u an appointment till they get ur records. So u can send it to them if u want appointment but they won't send u any letter or correspondence. . Shawbabe I guessed that was not your first time in US. Your case is peculiar. It might not work for someone else. It's better to be prepared and most importantly prayerfully do your preparation |

shelly23: It depends on your travel date and class of ticket you have. I don't know that there's a trick to it. They calculate a percentage (10% I think) of the cost of a return ticket for the adult. If your baby doesn't have a naija passport, you have to book a return ticket. They won't let you buy a one way ticket with a naija tourist visa in the US passport. When you get to naija, you can process a refund for the return leg. Do you think that refund is applicable to those that git their ticket from an agent. May be if you get the ticket from through the airline |

[quote author=Amother4life post=34812138]Everyone who enters an airport, including babies, needs to show some form of ID, but while a government-issued photo ID is required of adults, often a birth certificate will do just fine for infants and children when traveling domestically. For a journey outside the country, however, each passenger, regardless of age, must possess a valid passport. Make sure your infant has the proper ID to board the plane before you reach the airport, or your trip might be cut drastically short. Like I earlier mentioned your U.S citizen baby requires a US passport to Are you saying the US baby cannot use naija passport to travel outside the US |

FinanceFitness: I think it's possible. A friend left Atlanta with just Nigerian passport and had them mail the American one to her relative who later sent it to her.
I've also read that it's not okay for an American citizen to leave the U.S. without their American passport.
A bit of research should therefore be done on the legality of this option. halo finance fitness can you please find out from your friend on how she got the naija passport and travelled with it. Plllleeasseee |

Shawbabe: Just a word of wisdom here:
For all ofbu getting Nigerian visas for ur babies, take out time to do the maths.
Visa fee is $180 + $30 processing fee Passport is $77 + $30 processing fee
It is cheaper and wiser to get the naija passport and also save urself the hassle of gettingnand paying for it when u decide to get it in Nigeria. shawbabe are u saying it's cheaper and better to just get the Nigerian passport. But if you want to come with the baby next time you will have to go and apply for USA visa in Nigeria. Also the benefit that baby can travel to some countries without visa will be forfeited |

Shawbabe: The BC is ready at the Vital records office on Skyland Drive already. But u need to get confirmation of birth in paper from the hospital b4 u go to the vital records for BC. 1st copy is $25 and $5 for each extra copy.
As for Pastor? We used Pastor Adeboye
I kid lol. I guess u mean passport? Once uget the BC call the passport agency number (google it) and book an appointment. U don't necessarily have to come at the exact time u select on the automated machine as long u are there early. Then depending on ur travel plans, u show ur flight itinerary to the lady then she can select an expedited service for u for $165. They ask u to come collect in 2 days. So if u apply on Monday, it's ready on Wednesday for pickup.
I didn't get naija visa, we got a naija passport as well. Now the story for that one is for another day becoz the payment process is tasking but all things being equal, it should take 2 days for naija passport as well. Thanks shawbabe. So sorry for the mistakes. I was in my sleeping mode while typing. Can you help me with good accommodation and doctor at Atlanta |

Shawbabe: Hello everyone,
How is everyone doing? Stopped by to say ha fa
To add to what has been said, focus more on shipping diapers, wipes and clothes 3 months and above. I use my car seat and stroller oh here in abuja. Especially when I go gocery shopping at a supermarket. Or in my neighbourhood.
As for baby sleeping on our bed, I refused that one from the very start. Becoz na like that e dey start dem no go gree sleep alone later. U no go even fit romance ya spouse, mba oh. Moved my baby to crib sharply. If they cry, let them. They'll learb to sleep alone and comfort themselves back to sleep. Lol I know it's harrrd. The crib I checked in in Atlanta and tagged FRAGILE, those useless airline people destroyed it when I saw it in Abuja. So we had to buy another one in Naija and claimed compensation from the airline. Yeye people.
For baby food, I found Gerber gentle start powder formula wasn't breaking down well with my baby. So check what works for baby b4 shipping stuff back. Or u'll be stuck with what u won't use. . Hello dear pls how long did it take you to get your burthcertificate pastor and visa at atlanta |
