Why did they not open them as ports in 1898
In 1898 there was no Nigeria.

Those other places were separate Colonies under ANOTHER British Governor General who produced reports just like this one.

So How were those places doing in 1898?
Not viable

Why is the ugly woman unmarried?

Why did they not SELECT Onitsha as capital?

What this report shows is how Lagos was way ahead of all of you even before 1914 when Nigerria was created and long before the oil boom of the 1970s

The same reason why Ibadan was choosed for U.I and UCH.

Ibadan and Lagos were the greatest Nigerian cities at creation and independence

Watching interviews of one of ACF today,I strongly believe the growth of Ibadan was intentionally stunted

No doubt Lagos is a blessing to the south west and Nigeria as a whole.... Considering her wonderful geographical location and awesome weather...
But we have to thank the politicians for sabotaging all other ports in the country and making sure that all the headquarters of major oil companies are located in Lagos...

With such revenues... Eko Atlantic City is not a dream but a reality
Don't forget that dangote refinery is in the pipeline... All the crude from Niger delta will head to Lagos ..
Thanks again to the politicians for making sure that non of the refineries are working at an optimum level

Hope those your politicians include that sabotaged waster ports include

Tinubu meddling with Rivers state affairs isnā€™t his responsibility

Sim is elected but appointed

Tinubu is only interested in Rivers because he knows weā€™re the treasure base of the nation, if Rivers never had oil or if it was a poor state he for no dey run up and down

Thereā€™s a whole lot of insecurity in North & South West thatā€™s awaiting Tinubus attention

Thereā€™s grave hunger and poverty in Yoruba land awaiting for Tinubuā€™s attention

Make he remove hand for Rivers State

Moreover Tinubu knows Rivers people never voted for him or liked him so make he face front

If Tinubu & Wike wants peace in PH they should beg Peter Obi to talk to Sim and watch the magic

Nobody likes Tinubu here in PH make he get out with his brown teeth

Use your head my friend.. what you stated here doesn't correlate with the topic of discussion.

CBN has a massive building in Lagos already which isn't in use as we speak.. What stops the supervisors in the Abuja office from occupying the existing office CBN has in Lagos?
A report came out recently that the CBN headquarters in Abuja can no longer take the number of employees flocking in and out of the place on a daily basis. So what stops part of the CBN workers moving to the massive building CBN has in Lagos?.

Abuja is even central so what is the problem with Northern youths?

Remind him and those Northern youth that their brother SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI built the headquarters annex in LAGOS during GEJ government.

FG is not, so the same FG should use its discretion to spread development across the country by intentionally encouraging the decentralization of both public and private enterprise presence, as it's done in developed countries. That's why it's almost difficult to see any major difference between New York and California or Texas or Florida, etc, because economic activities are not concentrated in NY and DC, like we have in Nigeria. Or you think the American govt just sat back and those things happened??

Each US states government you mentioned made sure their is no difference not USA GOVERNMENT.

1999 till date, infact, since completion of 3MB no Nigerian major FG gas been sited lagos.Majority of post 1999 lagos greatness was achieved by the state government. Lagos state greatness never seize despite being striped of the capital status because of the state government foresight!

Oga, they should decentralise this country.

Every organisation shouldn't have its headquarters in Lagos and you don't expect a chaos. Lagos is already a hellhole. People waste productive time in traffic and complain bitterly, but they can do nothing about it.

If we had a serious government, they will ask organisations to strategically move their headquarters across regions in the country and enjoy massive government support. This is how America spread its wealth, and not concentrate it around one state.
You cant force organizations to locate their HQ in a particular place.
Nobody fault innoson to site his factory in southeast.

Its just logical

in Christianity Jesus is the standard

In islam it is full of man made doctrines and hadiths of man

There is also heirachy in islam and Saudi muslims would always be superior muslims just like they rate the companions of islam from mohammed linage as islam custodians

Jesus is a model for Christianity in what sense?

When did Jesus establish Christianity?
What is Jesus like and biblical in the way Christianity is practiced today?

You Christians will never mind your business with your deep Ignorance of Islam

See what Quran says:

(49:13) Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing of you.
